The teachers and staff are incredibly loving, attentive, and care deeply about the well-being of the children. They know them, inside and out. Our phenomenal (and beloved!) teachers were Ms. Michelle, Ms. Aileen, and Ms. Carissa and I could not have asked for a better, more capable and magical team to love my little girl! From amazing activities like sports and cooking and yoga and martial arts and dance to a real snow day on campus, the kids are exposed to so many awesome things! I wished I could go there as an adult, the kids have so much fun! The communication is perfect - I got so many updates and pictures and felt like I could talk to teachers and admin for ANYTHING at ANY TIME. They are also UNBELIEVABLE when it comes to protecting kids with food allergies -- and not just because its a nut-free campus (which is amazing). I was NEVER worried about my daughter's severe egg allergy. I'd get photos asking if certain foods were safe, and if they weren't, we'd know to send in a substitute. The impact of the amazing leadership of Ms. Jessica and Ms. Maya was palpable in how beautifully the school is run. They were also so incredibly helpful and supportive of us when we needed support with an on-site IEP evaluation and referrals to future schools (as we were moving out of state). One of the worst things of us having to move was having to leave Young Minds and not giving our daughter one more year of that most spectacular place. If you're looking for a place that will help your child thrive and bloom into an amazing little human, look no further. Young Minds is their home :)

First of…read moreall, I really wanted to send our child to a co-op because I wanted to know there was active parent involvement. It's not only been great for our family for me to come and get to help out at school, but I like knowing the other families care enough to be there. It's also been great to be part of an active community and we've made wonderful friends. I also wanted a play-based school for my child's development, and oh my, does he play play play! The space itself is so magical with different areas for dress up and imaginative play, blocks and train sets, quiet reading area, dress up area, and a big outdoor space with play structure, bikes and lots of "messy" play stations. But it's really the teachers that have made it such a wonderful place for my kid. They really love and care about him and share his progress with me when I pick him up. My child entered a shy two year old with a speech delay and is now a confident, chatty three year old. I really love that the school helps encourage him to be himself. I was worried a bit when we signed up that there wasn't much structure, but when I volunteered I could really see that there was a rhythm to the day and they are able to have play be child-led while providing different opportunities for them to choose throughout the day. And it's nice that he can be with kids younger and older than him while also getting some small group time with his teacher. If you're in the area, I highly recommend the school and to take a tour and see the magic for yourself!

It is affordable, welcoming, safe, caring, fun, and educational all wrapped up in one. The teachers are all so thoughtful and passionate. We're in our 2nd year now and plan to send our 16 month old girl there too when the time comes. Our son started shortly after he was 2 years old. He is 3 and a half now and his development has been incredible. His social skills, problem solving, and creativity are night and day from when he started. It is a unique place and special place not just for kids but for parents too. What an incredible resource for new parents to learn and grow along with their children.

We were so fortunate that our almost five-year-old got to spend his final year before kindergarten at this special school. The amount of care and creativity that goes into each child and each daily activity is astounding! Our child was seen and valued for all components of his personality and we saw the work of his teachers as the full extension of what we value most at home. We are so thrilled that our THT relationship will continue with our two younger children in future years. So much love to all of the THT family! We are so grateful.

Hiring under- qualified teachers who have no credentials was my biggest and still is my biggest concern. Being a Parent representative was never brought up. But if you would like to go there and discuss, I will. Although I said all this to your face the day I pulled my son out of your school. The way you handled it was extremely unprofessional. As someone who dedicated their time to making sure, teachers and yourself were appreciated, you would think that same level of respect would be given. Instead of communicating with me before our back to school night that I was no longer the Parent representative, I found out while everyone found out. Which displays your character and professionalism. You had prior insecurities of this parent group chat, which were passed along to me when I became the parent rep. When you brought up parents gossiping, and I addressed this with you, you had no context or proof... it sounds like this is your guilty conscious from previous experiences.. Regarding my child and development transitions, thank you for trying to deflect this but no. Not once has he cried in fear going to his new school. We were there for almost 2 years, I think that's plenty of time to transition. As a director you should bring warmth and love to the school and you brought neither. Leaving COOS was the best thing we did for our family and my biggest regret is staying there as long as we did. No need to respond to this and go back and forth. You can try to defend whatever you want but it's complete lies, denial, and deflection.

The classrooms are spacious and well-stocked with a play kitchen, kid furniture, light up table, sensory activities, etc. We especially like the multiple expansive playground areas and the outdoor time that they get to explore and run around. It's also such a treat hearing new songs or prayers she learned from chapel time w/ Pastor Duling! The school is tucked away in a quiet Westchester neighborhood and I appreciate that it's not near any major streets with lots of cars or foot traffic, which makes drop offs / pickups easy. Each classroom has its own fridge where you can store your child's food and I love that I don't have to pack ice packs to keep lunches + snacks cold! One less thing to worry about in the rushed mornings. Communication during our initial enrollment last year was definitely disorganized, but there's been a change in management since then, so if you were turned off by that before, give it another try. They are on Brightwheel and responses are prompt, plus we get lots of photos each day of the kids activities.

There are multiple classrooms for different age groups, and the classrooms themselves are bright, clean, and actually nice to look at. There have been a few teacher changes over the year, which at times made things a little tricky, especially since our son (like all kids) has specific instructions and needs. That said, communication has improved a lot, and right now everything is running very smoothly and consistently. My wife and I have looked at several other daycares while considering a move to a different part of the city, and honestly, when you compare price to what you're getting, it's hard to beat First Flight. Overall, it's been a positive experience, and we feel good about having our child there.

Even though I've since moved out of the area, I continue to commute here because of the trust I have in the staff and the incredible growth I've seen in my daughter. Her current teacher, Miss Karla , has been wonderful--a perfect balance of caring and affectionate while also providing the structure toddlers need. She has been a true partner in helping us with big milestones, like potty training, and her support has made such a difference. When my daughter was in the infant room, Miss Tatiana was equally amazing. She helped guide her through those early developmental stages, especially with motor skills, and made the transition so smooth for both of us. The teachers at First Flight, along with directors Miss Gabby and Miss Angie, work as a team to support each child's individual needs and goals. I receive daily updates not only in person at drop-off and pick-up, but also through the app this center uses SproutAbout, which includes details about meals, naps, activities, and even pictures throughout the day. I love that the center provides engaging daily activities that keep my daughter learning and exploring, and they also host monthly special events where parents can join in and connect with other families. My only feedback would be for the owner of the facility: I have seen caring and dedicated teachers leave for other job opportunities. These teachers are the heart of this center, and offering them competitive pay along with staffing 1-2 teachers above the required ratio could make a big difference. This would not only support teachers in being able to take time off when they're sick, but it would also help parents (who may not always understand that teachers are human too) feel reassured that the center is never understaffed. Choosing First Flight has been one of the best decisions I've made for my child. I feel confident every day knowing she's in a safe, loving, and educational environment that truly supports her development.
