It's a bilingual (mandarin and Spanish) play-based learning preschool. Ms LiLi and Ms Rosemary are the kindest teachers and they give personalized attention to the kids. I love that it's a home daycare because of the community-feel and openness the school and teachers bring. We sent our son to a large daycare center just before Little Ivy and there was a noticeable difference in my son's attitude and happiness - and the teachers here are more accessible. There is not only an app where you get daily updates (pictures, nap times, etc.), but also a personal text thread with the parents and teacher to communicate any time. The teachers do a fantastic job of correcting behavior and teaching the kids social and emotional skills - something that most preschools do not focus on. I love the play-based learning at this age because the kids really thrive in an environment like that. They do so many creative activities (based on season, holidays, etc), they have soccer and music classes, and do gardening! It's truly an amazing preschool and community, and I'm just so happy that we found Little Ivy when we did!

Our phenomenal (and beloved!) teachers were Ms. Michelle, Ms. Aileen, and Ms. Carissa and I could not have asked for a better, more capable and magical team to love my little girl! From amazing activities like sports and cooking and yoga and martial arts and dance to a real snow day on campus, the kids are exposed to so many awesome things! I wished I could go there as an adult, the kids have so much fun! The communication is perfect - I got so many updates and pictures and felt like I could talk to teachers and admin for ANYTHING at ANY TIME. They are also UNBELIEVABLE when it comes to protecting kids with food allergies -- and not just because its a nut-free campus (which is amazing). I was NEVER worried about my daughter's severe egg allergy. I'd get photos asking if certain foods were safe, and if they weren't, we'd know to send in a substitute. The impact of the amazing leadership of Ms. Jessica and Ms. Maya was palpable in how beautifully the school is run. They were also so incredibly helpful and supportive of us when we needed support with an on-site IEP evaluation and referrals to future schools (as we were moving out of state). One of the worst things of us having to move was having to leave Young Minds and not giving our daughter one more year of that most spectacular place. But this is such a clear case of not judging a book by its cover, because what's inside completely won us over. The teachers here are incredibly loving. I can't tell you how many times I've walked in to find my child curled up on a teacher's lap, completely at ease. That kind of warmth is hard to find, and it says everything about the culture here. The kids get to be genuinely kids: messy hands, paint everywhere, all kinds of hands-on art projects that let them explore and create without anyone worrying about the mess. Not going to lie, initially my daughter seemed a bit put off by the open flow of WPNS. However, this is one of the things I initially loved about the school. There is structure to the day, but within that structure there is a lot of freedom for the children to pick and choose how they want to spend their time. I realized that having more opportunities to make her own choices was an area where my daughter could really grow, and since joining WPNS, she has flourished socially and emotionally. I love all the projects she brings home each week to share. The parent involvement that is required allows me to get to know the teachers, other parents and environment better. Overall WPNS is great play-based school that I would recommend to any family.

Everyone is kind and friendly, and our daughter looked forward to going every day. As a new parent, it's natural to feel nervous about sending your child to daycare but I had to go back to work. From the first day until now, I have felt so secure and confident in the care she is receiving at Carousel. Our daughter is so excited when we drop her off and the pictures we get during the day show how much fun she is having. They were focused on her development and she rolled for the first time at Carousel! They also had her sit in a chair to help support her ability to sit up and core development. The team was flexible and accommodating, and when we were ready to start solids, they supported us every step of the way. It was these little things -- making sure she was doing tummy time, walking us through how to introduce Cheerios to help with coordination, and more -- that reinforced my trust in their abilty to care for our child. The other parents were friendly too, and it was reassuring to know that so many families had been sending their kids here for years, some with more than one child enrolled. We're moving and have to unenroll, and leaving this daycare is what I'm saddest about. I loved sending our daughter here and wish she could keep going.

When you brought up parents gossiping, and I addressed this with you, you had no context or proof... it sounds like this is your guilty conscious from previous experiences.. Regarding my child and development transitions, thank you for trying to deflect this but no. Not once has he cried in fear going to his new school. We were there for almost 2 years, I think that's plenty of time to transition. As a director you should bring warmth and love to the school and you brought neither. Leaving COOS was the best thing we did for our family and my biggest regret is staying there as long as we did. No need to respond to this and go back and forth. You can try to defend whatever you want but it's complete lies, denial, and deflection.

The school is tucked away in a quiet Westchester neighborhood and I appreciate that it's not near any major streets with lots of cars or foot traffic, which makes drop offs / pickups easy. Each classroom has its own fridge where you can store your child's food and I love that I don't have to pack ice packs to keep lunches + snacks cold! One less thing to worry about in the rushed mornings. Communication during our initial enrollment last year was definitely disorganized, but there's been a change in management since then, so if you were turned off by that before, give it another try. They are on Brightwheel and responses are prompt, plus we get lots of photos each day of the kids activities.
