3 Quesadillas (chicken, beef, and spicy chicken) (~$12) & Postobon (~$2)
    Aya E.

Ordered: 3 Quesadillas (chicken, beef, and spicy chicken) (~$12): with onions, cilantro, lettuce, powdered cheese Postobon (~$2): apple soda Aya's take: So many people rave about this place and as an Astoria native, I had to finally give it a try. This is your typical bodega but with a full Mexican menu! Friendly staff and overall quick service (I probably waited no more than 10 mins). The Quesadillas were crispy and bursting with flavor. I absolutely loved the salsas, especially the white one; it looks like an avocado crema sauce. An absolute must! It took the whole meal to the next level. Well-priced and filling. Highly recommend!

I tried the breaded chicken (milanesa) quesadilla like everyone raved about, and it was indeed good. You can buy one for $4, and I got 2, which was a good amount for me. The quesadilla is really different from most that you've eaten - almost like a hard taco shell, but fried instead. It comes with 2 packets of green sauce, which I supplemented with my own hot sauce. As an aside, this place is on restaurant.com, but when I tried to use the giftcard, they had no idea why their eatery was on the site.

I had a coworker recommend this place. Told me they were the "best tacos" he's had. He lives in Jersey and said when he comes to the city it's a must soooo I tried it. I was pretty disappointed. I got two chicken quesadillas to play it safe, and everything I had just tasted old. Almost like the chicken has just been sitting out all day, dry. The reviews also speak highly about this place so maybe I just came on a bad day? I'd be willing to go back, it would be clutch to have a place like this available. Pros: Massive menu Cost effective Friendly staff Cons: No dining - carry out only Not fresh Dry

This place makes amazing tacos!! Like omg whe you really want that comfort food feeling def go to this place! The absolute freshest and tastiest Mexican grub! Every single time i go it seems to get more amazing. So affordable for the superior product compared to the competition and the staff are the most amazing people. Best local taco and burrito place around. All fresh ingredients made to order. You can immediately taste the quality difference over all the chains around. Always a good experience when I go here. Delicious food!

Tacos (Aka Quesadillas at the store)

This is hands down the best taco spot in queens. I love this place and everyone I have introduced to this spot has also loved this place. The crispy taco shell isn't usually my fave at other taco spots but this place makes it different! Soo fresh and crispy! The green and red sauce is delicious. It's a hole in the wall taco spot with pretty good service. You just order at the window now post-covid.

This was my first time ordering from this place that my friend recommended and the food was great. Although they messed up most of my order. I ordered: 1. Chorizo torta ( sandwich): a little spicy 2. 2 cheese tacos ( received one) 3. 2 chicken tacos ( my favorite) 4. 2 chicken empanadas ( didn't receive) The person working there told me everything was in there and said each item that was supposed to be in there. She charged me for everything and didn't receive like half of my order and did not get my money back. I don't think I'll go there again but the food that I was able to try was good.

Nasty nachos !!! See sliced American cheese that don't even melt

The tacos are TRASH !!! The steak was salty and all around no flavor !! Ordered nachos and whyyyy was it just SLICED AMERICAN cheese , lettuce and the Mexican cheese . No pico , no guaac , sour cream nothing ! And the chips are stale ! And what Mexican restaurant uses sliced cheese on nachos !!! And to top it all off it's overpriced for the quality . Tik tok hyped this place up and it's trash !!! As a lifelong Astorian I can say they used to be good but that was years ago now just gross . I don't know if they're catering to gentrification or what but it was horrible ! Never going back

    Menu

Great Mexican food, by a wonderful team of women oftentimes. Customizable menu items, pretty fresh. Empanada was slightly off in taste, as if the fryer needed fresh oil. Beans are not vegetarian. Great service, answered all questions and kind.

It's a no for me. If you enjoy dry, lettuce filled tacos and fried quesadillas then maybe this place works for you, but I left feeling underwhelmed and disappointed I wasted my calories on this meal. The steak tasted like it had been reheated, not fresh at all. The tacos each had 2 flour tortillas (too much) all I tasted was flour dough and lettuce again the steak was old and had no flavor. The chicken was "chicken cutlet" no seasoning just bland with lettuce on top. I mean cmon this is queens so many other taco spots. Skip this one, don't let the reviews fool you.

We basically ordered the whole menu: chicken quesadilla, loaded poppers, lemon pepper wings, the Trestle burger on an English muffin (still undefeated), shepherd's pie, and pig wings. Everything was on point, but the wings, the Mac and cheese and that burger are must-orders every time. The drinks were just as good. We had a frozen Arnold Palmer, a coconut mojito and the boozy blueberry. The overall vibe is calm and chill, perfect for hanging out without feeling rushed. One of my go-to spots for a reason.

The place is LOUD albeit with good taste of retro, 90's music and not the modern trash that floods the radio waves so I can rock with that. Place is sized pretty well with an outside seating area and plenty of tables inside the albeit dimly lit bar/restaurant. Coming into the place I was greeted by a blonde woman who seemed to be a supervisor of the area. She directed me to a comfortable seating area and a server took my order afterwards. The place was relatively busy so the wait for my food was kind of in the long range, about maybe 15 minutes. I ordered Chicken & Waffles with Iced Tea and the food was definitely worth the wait. That chicken was so good, a bit on the crisp side but it's solid in taste. The Waffle had such an awesome texture with the right measure of powdered sugar, decorated with Blueberries and Strawberries, the entrée was plated very well. The Iced Tea, I didn't know it was unsweetened so that threw me off but some sugar kinda fixed that. Service was also 'A' Tier. The place was busy so it was a tad on the slow side but they were very attentive. About 3 different servers tended to me whether it was about my order, how I liked it and paying for the bill when I was finished. That's dedication and I always give props to that. I enjoyed my visit here.

We had our own dedicated server, which made everything feel really seamless. They kept our drinks flowing the entire time, and it was a huge plus not having to flag anyone down. For food, I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was delicious. The coleslaw on it added great flavor (honestly, I just wish there was a bit more of it). It came with fries that were perfectly crispy--exactly how fries should be. Overall, I had a really enjoyable time. If I'm ever back in the neighborhood or if anyone asks me for a good brunch spot for groups, I'd definitely recommend this place.

They have a giant menu posted on the wall to peruse. When we approached the counter to order, the person manning the register basically ignored us. When she finally acknowledged us to place our order, the interaction was taciturn and curt - no niceties. I ordered the single order pan-fried pancake ($8, but closer to $11 after tax). The menu states a choice between beef, pork, and chicken, but we were only given the choice between beef and chicken. The cashier also gave us a choice between spicy potato or pork floss (I opted for the pork floss), which was not denoted in the menu description. The menu does say it comes with veg, but what they really mean is lettuce/salad. The menu picture online is also misleading because it says it comes with an egg, and displays both a soft-boiled egg and beautiful runny egg cascading over the pancake. Instead, the only egg that was served was one overcooked fried egg (not runny at all!), and it was cold (but more on that later). The quoted wait time for the food was 20 minutes. There's a little station near the counter to grab napkins, silverware, and water. Around 9:30am on a Friday, several tables were filled, but no one had any food (the cafe opened at 9am, so I suppose the kitchen was still ramping up). My friends and I ordered variations of the same dish (the pan-fried pancake), but the dishes were served in reverse order - the person who ordered last got their dish first and vice versa. When one order is more complex than another, it's understandable when the easier/quicker one is served first. Since we all ordered nearly the same dish, this was not the case. The way things were being expedited was not efficient. When they finally called my name, I was excited to dig in, but the dish was cold! The beef was cold, the pancake was cold, the egg was cold and overcooked... I had half a mind to send it back. I'm guessing my order was ready earlier, but it must've sat there because someone forgot about it. Now technically, there are cold elements in the dish, if you count the lettuce and dressing, but there's no reason why the pancake, egg, and beef were all cold... they weren't warm, they didn't retain any heat, they were cold. They were also skimpy on the beef. The only redeeming qualities of the dish were that, fortunately, the pancake was still crispy, albeit cold and greasy, and the pork floss is a delicacy that gave the pancake a little extra oomph of flavor and texture. My friend ordered the Wake Up Combo ($14), which is the pan-fried pancake served with a soy milk and tea egg. Similar to my own egg experience, the tea egg was disappointingly overcooked (think hard-boiled) and not jammy like the picture at all. We all have bad days, so maybe Morning Brunch & Cafe was having one... but this is a skip for me.

The prices were bad here but the service and the food weren't great. When we arrived, we were scoping out the menu, they had it posted in a lot of places but it was kind of confusing. I did like how you could scan a QR code and when you clicked on an item, it was more descriptive of the add-on options or potential meat options. There are approximately 10-13 seats, so not great for a massive party, but good for a small outing or for take out. I saw a decent amount of delivery people come in to do pick ups. My friends and I were ordering and were curtly treated by one of the employees. I ordered the fried vegetable pancake with them since you couldn't order the QR code on the tables. She told me the options of only beef and chicken. I thought pork would've been an option and then she mumbled about the options for the additional topping. I couldn't understand her when she said pork floss, so I ordered spicy potatoes. The food also came out kind of sad and was slow to come out. The order was all wrong as I ordered last and then was delivered my dish first. It was kind of sad because I didn't even realize you should be able to pick up the pancake. It was hard to eat because it kept crumbling apart due to the pan fried falky pancake was a thin layer what just felt like crust. I was imagining more like a scallion pancake with vegetables infused or stuffed in. It also came out cold, and could have used a bit more flavor like a sauce or soy sauce. The spicy potatoe tasted a little undercooked as well. My friend ordered hers with pork floss instead and that tasted a little better. The dish also came with a supposed to be overeasy egg that is supposed to be runny, but was a bit overcooked.
