Great brunch and regular menu offerings. Good local restaurant with spot on flavors. Recommended by friends for authentic Mexican cuisine.

5/5 service 5/5 mango cucumber jicama salad ($13) - so much like mango chutney, so good, I'd go back for this 5/5 Oreo cheesecake $9- on the house since it was a bday celebration, best thing I had there. Don't even like Oreos cuz too sweet but damn, this was good 3/5 tres leches $9- too sweet, but good otherwise 4/5 orange zest & vanilla flan- wish it was less sweet but the caramel on top is a bit burnt/bitter which helped balance a bit. Didn't taste orange zest tho. 3/5 Wild Mushroom pizza ($14) - Goat cheese, shallots, truffle oil. Not a fan of goat cheese since it's so pungent. Decent otherwise. 3/5 "Tacos de Camaron- Jumbo shrimp and roasted red peppers; cilantro, onion, and guacamole. Served with a side salad and red and green sauces." Decent, so much bell peppers tho. 3/5 "Quesadilla de Camaron $14- Jumbo shrimp and roasted red peppers with mashed potatoes between 2 homemade corn tortillas." Made with cornmeal or corn flour instead of tortilla. We were surprised but this is def more filling. 3/5 calamari - bit salty but decent otherwise

Stumbled upon this place while in the neighborhood. It's right off the 52st 7 train and totally worth a visit! The place was a little dark and hard to see inside, my husband thought it was a bakery but then when I looked it up there were great reviews and boy did this place have some yummy food with great prices! We started with the elote corn which was so yummy and the friend calamari! Also very good! Then we had the bbq pork torta and the shrimp tacos! Soo much food but we ate it all because we were so hungry. It was all very delicious and I would definitely come back and recommend. The inside ambiance is very local vibe with an open kitchen. The staff were very sweet and nice. Not to mention everything is very reasonable in price :) it's not manhattan prices that's for sure!

I've been to La Flor a couple of times. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. The food is really good, definitely home cooked. The vibe is friendly and service attentive. Check out the cool interior mosaics.

I've been here several times before this year, but I haven't been back in a while until now. I never wrote a review either. There's plenty of seating inside, so there's no need to make reservations, especially for lunch or brunch time. They serve lunch, brunch, and dinner menus here. I couldn't decide what to order here bc there was so much to choose from. I eventually chose from the dinner/ lunch menu. The waiter was really nice and patient. He gave some suggestions and examples of dishes that we had questions on. I decided on a white sangria, bistec quesadilla, and elote. The street fair elote was pretty good with the chipotle aioli lime sauce. I was very satisfied after the meal and would eventually go back.

I wanted to like this place since I always see that is packed. A nice decor so I decided to give it a try by ordering something to go. I got myself two tortas and I should've listen to the red flags before playing an order. Only 2 tortas for a Mexican place that's red flag number one. When ask if the tortas have cheese since it wasn't on the description the server had to ask! Red flag number two. When placing the order the server told me that it came with a salad! Red flag number 3. The tortas themselves had decent flavor but they came in a burger bun! Second the torta was miniature any other place, that would only cost less than 8$ and i was charged 13$. I guess they charge 5 dollars for a side salad that was only Romanian lettuce. Long story short it might be a good place outside my experience but it is most definitely not a Mexican place so beware.

My wife and I finally tried this place after 10 years of passing it by when driving from central Queens (Rego Park) to Astoria, Jackson Heights, Sunnyside, Woodside and LIC. That night we ordered appetizers, including my wife's soup of the day, which was a delicious pea soup. My starter was the chicken flautas that come dressed with red and green salsas and crema to illustrate the Mexican flag. The flautas were hot and crispy right out of the fryer, filled with chicken and mashed potatoes. This dish was perfect. My wife's entree was the carne asada torta which she said was delicious. She simply wanted something mild since she doesn't tolerate spicy food well, and also with the help of the friendly waitress she had navigated a number of allergens. The sandwich came with a side of greens. I chose the nuclear option: the molcajete with hangar steak, fresh corn, nopales (cactus), grilled jalapeño and mashed potatoes. The entire spectacle was delicious and beautifully presented in a stone molcajete. We would definitely try this place again which was only overlooked since we have lots of choices of authentic Mexican food.

Good food, reasonable prices. The way things should be. Stopped by for brunch with a friend as it was close to our Airbnb and I liked it a lot. Very cozy and homey spot. I got the steak and eggs, and everything was seasoned nicely, and I left feeling satisfied. The food isn't too heavy/greasy which was nice. The service was good. Not much else to say lol

I wanted to visit La Flor for a while. It's a cute place under the 7 train, it's a little hidden. The cappuccino is delicious, I would get it again. The mac and cheese with chorizo could be cheesier but it had good flavor. I got the huevos mexicanos, it was a decent dish but I feel like it needed a meat or rice to make it more hearty. La flor torta comes with a sauce that was a bit on the sweeter side. To end off the meal, we got the pastry basket which was mostly bread, scones and few muffins. It was warmed up but I expected more sweet stuff like cookies or conchas. I want to visit again to taste the dinner menu. I'm hoping it's better next time.

All their locations have pretty good ratings so I can't really go wrong. Came around 11am on a weekend and it was busy but there were tables available. The tables are arranged pretty strategically to fit as many as possible, which isn't the best for comfort. The service is nice here. The menu is in Spanish but they do have an English menu if you scan a QR code. I ordered the craken taco, costra taco, verde aguachile mixtos, a half dozen grilled shrimps, a la exotica, and guac with fried octopus. Everything was delicious! This place did not disappoint. Although, next time I'd probably skip the Craken taco and verde aguachile even though these two are a top recommendation. My favorite dish was probably the grilled shrimp. The way they grill it really brings out the sweetness and flavor of the shrimp. I personally enjoyed the la exotica more than the aguachile. The guac was also really good and the fried octopus was a good addition. I will definitely go to their other locations. This is a must try for seafood lovers.

They offer a different special for any day of the week, first time around on a Thursday Margaritas special , Tamarind & Mango nice big glass great margaritas, good tasty & nice & strong They start u off with some cake pieces, has a banana bread taste very good. Apps , we tried the Tostones con Birria very good great tasting meat & Chorizo Mac & cheese , also very good. Main dishes , Al pastor tacos & Chicken Burrito were both very good. Next time we stopped by for brunch, we got the bottomless option tried the Sangrita white, good sangrita price wise makes sense assuming u drinking more than 3-4 glasses a person. On the food Carnitas Benedict & short rib hash were both very tasty. For dessert gave the Tres Leches a try not bad, just the right amount of sweet. Another brunch visit & we tried Paloma spritz, good & Mexican coffee, pretty strong in taste. Chicken & waffles topped with bacon, very good chicken good combo dish. & the Lady's enchiladas great taste the enchiladas w the green sauce & cheese on top. Good size restaurant, small bar area towards the back, simple but colorful decor. Service overall has been good, they are attentive. Reasonable prices & u get a decent amount of food. My only complaint for the esquite was that it had a little too much water and mayo but other than that, the corn was sweet and all the seasoning was perfect and hit the spot! The main reason why this is one of my go to places now though is because of the smoothies. I haven't been too often just yet but the smoothies that I have tried from then so far have been absolutely perfect. I am just glad that I found this spot as the weather is getting warmer because I know I will be craving smoothies more often. The place is quite small and it was quite dim when I went in. We also ordered elote which is rolled up in tin foil. It was spicy for my palate and the crumbly cheese was okay. Just wasn't for my taste at all. But corn cleared my palate for the next bite. The rice in the burrito was undercooked. Some part of the grain was crunchy, but my boyfriend didn't notice it. I think I'll give this place another try.

Ironically, earlier while trying to decide where to go for dinner, I had sent this restaurant to my friend but we ended up going somewhere else and came here for drinks afterward. The drinks were really good! We tried the "Sexy Oaxaca," which consists of 7 Misterios Doba-Yej Mezcal, Cointreau, grilled pineapple, mint agave, fresh lemon, and warm salt. This drink takes your taste buds on a ride. It starts off light and refreshing with the mezcal throughout, then finishes with a smoky effect from the pineapple since it's lit. It was really good!! I also tried the "VIP Old Fashion," made with Patrón Extra Añejo, Nixta corn liqueur, Angostura, and orange bitters. This was also good and was smoked prior to being served, giving it a smoky aftertaste. It's definitely a drink you sip slowly. Although we arrived about an hour and a half before closing, the waiter was very polite and professional. They also didn't rush us out once it was closing time, which I appreciated. There were other customers still there enjoying themselves as well. I will definitely be back for dinner. I'm very curious to see what the food is like. I really enjoyed the drinks.
