Fortunately I've gotten in and out of previous homes before having to tackle this but now, the time has come. After talking to several companies and reviewing proposals, I chose Smart Roofing Systems. Smart has done many homes in my neighborhood and everyone had good things to say about them. My experience was no exception. One difference I noticed about Smart vs. other companies is that instead of having a huge dumpster placed in your driveway, they used an open trailer on wheels allowing for easy removal of the debris each day. I also liked the fact that this left no marks on the asphalt driveway like some heavy dumpster can do. The crews put in extremely long days and did an amazing clean up. When you tear down a roof, shingles, nails, etc. go everywhere. The job site remained neat and the daily and final clean up was superb. Smart was extremely easy to do business with. Great, responsive communications and follow up. I tend to ask a lot of questions especially given the costs involved. Never was I left hanging. I highly recommend Smart Roofing Systems.

Well fellow homeowners, our roof has been replaced in less than 8 hours?What is most amazing is that it was 100 degrees today in SW Michigan? What literally perfect hard workers and team removing our old roof and a professional and beautiful replacement in this 100 degree combined hot and humid day at our home in Vicksburg Michigan! I spoke in the Yelp chat with questions to the owner Richard Paige in Rockford, MI., who certainly knew all the questions he answered without hesitation and it revealed his knowledge of all the aspects we needed to know! We could not have been more impressed, and we made the decision to have our roof replaced in the very next week he was able to fit us into! A week ago our new premium was due and having our initial roof replaced today, we were able to obtain a credit of $617! Ask your agent about this because it was apparent our roof was old enough that it was raising the cost of our annual premium! We never knew that, but we must also honestly inform all homeowners that insurance companies are very concerned about possible claims because of aging roofs, which seemed fairly obvious, but it "woke us up" when faced with a 50% increase in the past 2 years? Thankfully our agent was definitely helpful and on our side in advising us we could save so much by spending a very reasonable amount with Smart Roofing out of Rockford who replied to me on the YELP APP almost immediately and the rest was history! They came to the house and worked with me to get the roof done right away . In the end they were able to do the whole roof including replacing some boards as well . They were so easy and great to work with. I got a fantastic price and so I hired them to do the job. I have never regretted hiring them to do the job and they also took the time to completely replace all the gutters too. I recently was told by another company that I was in need of a new roof and probably some boards too. The guy said that I had black mold in my attic as well. The guy was from Top Home Improvements. I had went to the Senior Expo a couple of weeks ago and they had a both there so I signed up to get a quote and roof inspection. I would never ever use that company to do anything on my house ever! The guy outright lied to me and the pictures he said that he showed me indicating that I definitely needed to get my roof replaced and have some other repairs too. In the end I showed everything to the guy from Lysters and he pointed out to me that the first pictures he had taken were of my house but the pictures he showed me of what was supposedly my with damaged shingles and supposedly some soft spots in the roof. Indicating that I also needed some boards replaced too. In the end the guy from Lysters went up on my roof and looked it completely over then said to me your roof is in great shape and he also told me that if I had a leak in the roof causing black mold to grow in there then the water leak would also have gone down to the main level of the house and I would have water spots showing up. I have no water spots anywhere in the upstairs of my home. Once again just proving that I was actually lied to. The great news was I not only didn't need a new roof at all and the one I have now is going to be fine for at least another 10 to probably 15 years. I felt so relieved because the quote from Top Home Improvement was for just under $35,000.00 ! I can assure you that if I ever need work done on my home I will never call anyone but Lyster's to do the job. As for Top Home Improvement I would never use them for any job. I'm just so angry that they outright lied to me and almost cost me a substantial amount of money that was never necessary to spend whatsoever. I guess I would say buyer beware of who you call to do important work on your home. By not getting a second opinion I would have spent a huge amount of money that wasn't really necessary at all. I have also learned that from now on before I hire any company to do work on my home I'll definitely be checking with the Better Business Bureau too. They collect information about all kinds of companies and post the reviews of what other people have had to say about the company.

But here's what really sets them apart: they will take care of you like family. A month after my new roof was done, a tree fell on my house. They came fast and actually had me laughing when they were done. Outstanding crew: even took away a 100-lb dumbbell that's been in my landscaping for two years after being wrongly delivered there and too heavy for me to move. Simply put: they are the best.

April 4th we experienced a hail storm. A couple of days later I noticed water running out from under our siding and it had not rained for more than 24 hours. We phoned Dave and he was unable to get to our office until after we closed. Due to the storm in the area he checked the roof and was at the office the next morning to tell us what he had found. We reported to our insurance company, he met the insurance adjuster, he scheduled for everything to be done and he worked around the criteria we needed worked around at our office and we not have a beautiful new roof.
