From the small back deck you can look over this town all the way to the high cliffs that drop into the ocean, creating picturesque views of the orange, red and pink sunset. We arrived to a small sign personally welcoming us. Niall and Darra treated us like family while we stayed at their house and even dined at their table. They were personally acquainted with the entire area and gave us honest recommendations for spending our days there. We were able to see the Cliffs without crowds because of their directions. We then had the perfect dinner of local food at Roadford House where we walked along stonewalls past cows, horses, and sheep to the intimate dining room overlooking pastures. We ended the night by enjoying local music at O'Connor's Pub just a minute walk from the Sea View. We would highly recommend staying at the Sea View for at least a few nights on your trip to Ireland. Thanks again Darra and Niall, Ryan and Cristina

The rooms (we stayed in more than one), the food, the hospitality and the views were all just perfect. If we could give them more stars, we would. We are looking into flights to go back and I had to look up this amazing B&B because we will absolutely be making a reservation on our upcoming trip! We were so engrossed and enamored in our first experience in Ireland, and neither of us did reviews, but I feel like I need to say WE ADORE SEA VIEW HOUSE!! We are very much looking forward to another visit!!

It has been 7 months since we've returned and our favorite stories & memories were spent in County Clare; specifically being a guest at the Ballinsheen B&B. The B&B encompasses everything that is beautiful about Ireland. Mary was so wonderful, so kind, so friendly, and patient (We got lost and she stayed up and guided us). She also makes a KILLER breakfast - with all local ingredients, herbs from her garden, & eggs from her chicken. After breakfast, Mary will let you know ALL the sites you should visit, the best way to get there, local parking spots when going to the Cliffs of Mohr, the perfumery and chocolatier that is tucked away in the Burren. She has such a deep love of this country side and knowledge of its history. While in town, DEFINITELY go to Kieran's (also a Mary recommendation). Kieran's is the perfect Irish pub. Bartenders are rad. Local Musicians roam in and start to play music to a crowd eager to sing along. They have THE BEST seafood stew in all of Ireland (salmon smoked on location). It was a dream! I know we will definitely will be going back to Ireland for a visit. When we do, we will definitely be spending more time at this heavenly Ballinsheen B&B and hidden gem of a town. ... oh! And we will be back in September - during The Match Making Festival!!!

Just mention that you are thinking of going to see something, and she is on the phone to make reservations or immediately giving you directions. The rooms are large and comfortable, with nice sitting chairs and comfortable beds. Nice rooms downstairs available for your use as well. Gardens surrounding the house are lovely and extremely well kept. Breakfast was outstanding, with a nicely varied selection, fresh cut fruit every morning, freshly baked banana & soda bread, and all the coffee or tea you care to have. Lisdoonvarna is also a nice town to stay in with a variety of places and pubs to eat at within easy walking distance. Most pubs also have live music in the evening. Easy driving distance to Galway, Cliffs of Mohair, and other day trips. Highly recommended, you won't find a nicer place to stay in the area.

The food was very good but have to be honest nothing memorable. If you're looking for a quiet dinner with very fresh local ingredients this is a good choice but would not go out of my way to eat here.

We somehow managed to get a last-minute booking...and arrived REALLY early. The staff was gracious and welcoming, and helped us to feel comfortable in the waiting area. They were even kind enough to get us an espresso martini for the wait. We did the 3 course Prix Fix menu, and added an additional appetizer. We ordered: Pan seared scallops: probably the best scallops I've ever eaten. Foie Gras: absolutely incredible, and with the gingerbread...a revelation! Classic Beef Carpaccio: delicious. Hereford Prime Rib Eye: This steak...beef in Ireland just tastes BETTER than it does here in the states. This steak was "my eyes rolled back in my head, and I wanted to lick the plate" good. Fillet of Irish Lamb: Again...meat just tastes better here. This lamb was perfectly prepared, tender, flavorful. We will both be dreaming about this for a long time. Warm Blackcurrant Souffle: Only my second souffle ever, and it was a memorable one. Sweet, tart, everything you could ask for. Orange and Strawberry Cheesecake: It tasted as incredible as it sounds. I'm a big cheesecake snob, and this was just incredible. All this, along with an amuse-bouche and a palate cleanser that were mind blowing...I definitely plan to eat at Oar Restaurant the next time we are in Ireland. (Which hopefully won't be too horribly long!)
