For privacy reasons, I won't mention the reasons for my seeing her, but I will say I had been feeling "stuck" in my life and other methods of therapy weren't working, so I thought "might as well." She is the first and only hypnotherapist that I have seen, and I found her to be very effective in our work together. Her website is helpful in listing some things she treats- from anxiety to anger to hypnobirthing classes. I began by shooting her an email and discussing what I wanted to work on to make sure she was the right fit. I recommend reaching out sooner rather than later, as she fills up quickly. I had about a 4 wk wait to see her for my first time; then she gets you in regularly as needed. The office itself is comfortable and relaxing. There is plenty of street parking right out front. Kira is always prompt and professional, which I greatly appreciate. I would describe her style as warm, friendly, and caring. She has a calming voice, which I assume is pertinent to the profession. She is also direct and helpful, and she offers tools and recordings to utilize outside of session. I have found them to be useful. But again, it will depend on your reasons for seeing her, as I assume these things vary. Most importantly for me, I leave every session feeling like I learned something new about myself. That is a MUST for me in my journey. I found her prices to be competitive with others. The only downside to hypnotherapy is that insurance doesn't cover it. But on the bright side, you only go in for a few sessions so you're spending less in the long run. I think it's worth the investment. No doubt, Kira deserves 5 stars. "Quantum Healing Hypnosis Therapy" (QHHT) was the most healing that could ever happen in such a short amount of time. Relatively speaking of course. It involves going back. I had forgotten all about it and then I found it as I was going through some stuff at JUST the right time in my life and *knew* it was a sign I needed to see her. It was such a wonderful process from start to finish -- to setting up the appointment, her taking the time to read my emails and to answer any and all questions I had -- to her accommodating my needs to meet in the middle of my appointment day/time. Upon arriving I was overwhelmed with all the emotions in the book, but she already knew that She welcomed me with a big smile and a warm hug -- Valerie sincerely took her time with getting to know me and to just listen. Before our session even began I feel like she helped me with so many issues on my list... she truly cares about her people and it's such a beautiful thing. She's so positive and such a bright light. I've practiced mindfulness techniques and gone to cognitive behavioral psychotherapy in the past, so I was interested to see the similarities and differences between what I had experienced in the past and hypnotherapy. Since I was really new to hypnotherapy I found it so easy to access because of the way Katrina talked through every step and explained a lot of the rationale behind what we were doing.
