Be warned their portions are very generous, I usually get a small if I want a rather large amount of ice cream, and even the kids size is very generous! There are benches and seating along the way, making it a great spot to hang out. Just a heads up: most of the outdoor seating is currently under construction as they expand the area, but it looks like it'll be even better once it's finished.

When visiting my dad in Delaware, driving to this ice cream stand down the street from his house is always a treat. Others seem to think so as well, because there is usually a line, which moves quickly. The service has always been friendly. They have about 25 flavors at exceptionally good prices. You can purchase individual cups/cones and even pints to take home and enjoy later. The ice cream is thick and creamy. The all natural ice cream is supplied by the Woodside Farm Creamery, also located in Newark, DE. We have tried the Frozen, Butter Pecan, Vanilla, Chocolate Thunder, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Black Cherry. They all are great, just depends on your mood. The even have a pup cup, which we treated my sister's dog, Bear, to. It's a scoop of ice cream with a dog treat on top. We got Bear vanilla and to say he devoured it would be an understatement.

We were also provided with jar lids so we could take leftovers home and drink them as milkshakes.

I waited at one window and the clerk saw me but waited until someone else came at another window to wait on them. I asked her why she did that and she said that people normally order from that window. I asked her how I would know because there are 3 of them with no signs directing you where to order. Tip: Order from the end window, with your back against Pulaski Highway. Today I got a "Regular Waffle Cone" with 3 scoops: Horchata (incredible!), caramel cheesecake (blah, tasted like vanilla, what caramel?), and peanut butter puddles (very good). There was only one person working each time I went. They take each order, ring them up, make it, and move on to the next. It's a lot for one person. Business seems good, for good reason. While service definitely has room for improvement, the ice cream itself merits 5 stars! When I am in the area it will be a regular stop. NOTE: This review was from 2 years ago.
