After I selected the frames, Jason Lam, Registered Optician told me all about the designer, Robert Marc who travels the world for his inspiration. All his frames are handmade in France. This designer has exclusive rights to his acetate designs, so he is the only one with these distinctive colours. Robert Marc likes to mix tortoise shells with colour for women, and conservative solids for men. Jason told me that Robert Marc uses the finest italian acetate " Mazzucchelli ". His patented hinge design is actually a strength reinforcement for the temple. What a wealth of knowledge I got when I bought the item! The last optical store we used was in Scarborough Town Centre, quite far from our place. When our family optician moved out of Toronto, my family eye doctor (Ophthalmologist) recommended Scarborough Scarboro Optical Ltd. in late 2019. From that time on, we've been extremely satisfied with its products and services, preferring not to use Costco's optical store, despite the latter is even much closer to our place and accessible by public transit. Why? For two major reasons. In the past, we had our eyes examined by an optometrist before taking the prescription to our optical store for new glasses. Scarboro Optical has its own optometrist located onsite (by appointment). And Dr. Bejan is not an ordinary optometrist. He's also a highly qualified eye doctor. In essence, I've been receiving regular monitoring of my eye health from two eye doctors. In the past, I'd been paying the cost of Digital Retinal Imaging Tests from my optometrist to assess the inside health of my eyes not covered by OHIP. Dr. Bejan performs similar test to detect presence of glaucoma, cataract and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) for free! We've been receiving excellent optician services even from its owner Joanna when she was still working as a senior optician. From the start, we're extremely satisfied with Atosa's services. Not only Atosa is a very knowledgeable optician, but we receive from her the following services more than what we expected: * Very friendly, warm and courteous yet has proven to do everything within her power to make us happy. * She would recommend lenses features beyond prescribed by their optometrist, to be comfortable using new glasses. * While I've got good vision insurance coverage from my previous employer, she never pressures us to buy expensive frames. Their prices are already competitive and always receives special discounts but still would tell us we don't need some features for our multiple prescribed glasses needed (bifocals, computer/reading and sunglasses). * She would tell us which of our old frames could be reused to save on costs. * She would submit our vision claims online to my insurance carrier, thereby receiving my refunds before we pay Scarboro Optical when we pick up our new glasses. * She would efficiently test, adjust and clean our glasses any time we drop by the store with a smile. It's for these reasons why we highly recommend Scarboro Optical products and services.

From the moment I walked in, the office was littered and had used tissues. Monica has been extremely unprofessional by raising her voice, getting frustrated and yelling when I ask questions, and asking me to leave/come back a different time after I'd confirmed my appointment due to a scheduling conflict When I ask for my contact lens information after the appointment, they have told me that my information is "hard to find" and that they will call back. When I ask why it's hard to find, they tell me they're busy and they will call back. Literally, while speaking to them, they will cut you off and just say bye on the telephone. I've been told THREE different answers when asking for my contact lens information: 1) It's complicated.. we will need time to find it 2) Sure, I'll send it to you in 10 minutes- they did not 3) I will "try my best" to find it I feel like I had to beg to get my contact lens information. As soon as they got paid by me, the "customer service" was gone. I will never return. I have had a horrible experience with this place. Its cheap for a reason I guess.
