My father (83) and my son (25) will be thrilled with their replacement Wii console and can make memories together again gaming! Thanks so much Dillon and Game Giant, Wilmington!!

If you want to buy or sell used games, forget about gamestop! My first encounter with Game Giant…read morewas about a year and a half ago. I had found my Game Boy Advanced SP and charger, and so had my roommate from college. We decided we wanted a link cable. We found this place online and showed up- they had a box with about 15 or 20 link cables in it and we were able to pick the color we wanted. They had an OEM Nintendo cable too, but we were low on funds and opted for the aftermarket part. This newfound game boy and link cable began a sort of romanticism for me for retro gaming. I have continued to go back since then, buying games here and there or accessories... and over time, it has become my go-to store for physical purchases of games if possible. That leads me to what I truly love about Game Giant: they continue to breathe life into the consoles and games and history that would not be found in Wilmington otherwise. GG also charges fair prices, and sometimes their prices are even cheaper than the industry standard (Buy used switch games from here!!! They are very competitively priced!). They stock rare items, complete editions of older games (I saw them sell an original copy of Zelda the other day), they can probably solder and repair any damaged part of your gaming system, and best of all they give great advice and are very helpful with amazing customer service. Of course they also buy old games and give you store credit or cash if you happen to have anything lying around :) Game enthusiasts: be sure to add this to your list!

Excellent customer service - 5 Stars. The owner of the bookstore was at the entrance and greeted me & others immediately when we entered the bookstore. Upon entering, I noticed many areas were sectioned and off limits. I found out later that they were placing books back in the bookshelves after they were taken away to repair broken pipes in the store and to prevent them from getting damaged. There were a literary jukebox and vending machine dispensing capsules with quotes - both out of order. I still had a good time wandering around the bookstore and browsing books there. I found a book in the clearance section for 25 cents and purchased it. Despite the inconveniences in the store due to the building being old and being repaired by the owner herself, I am impressed by how personable & amicable the owner was and that she was repairing the pipes in the store by herself instead of hiring someone to do it. I know when the books are organized back on the shelves that I will probably come back and spend more time here. This is a bookstore to see in Wilmington again and again.

With 2026 creeping closer, I figured it was time to start scouting for its successor. Go! Calendars, Toys & Games inside Independence Mall made for a quick and purposeful stop. It was not quite a full-on shopping mission, more of a reconnaissance run to see what might be worth nudging Santa about. The calendar selection was solid, with plenty of themed options. There were quirky, educational, scenic, and pop culture varieties stacked and ready. Prices are full retail this time of year, which is expected. If you are calendar hunting and not in a rush, the real deals kick in after January 1, when unsold stock gets marked down. But if you are browsing for gift ideas or just want first pick, it is worth the early look. Beyond calendars, the store has a decent spread of board games, puzzles, and novelty toys. Some of those are already discounted, especially the seasonal or clearance items tucked toward the back. It is the kind of place that rewards a little poking around, especially if you are shopping with kids or looking for something lighthearted to bring to a gathering. All in all, it was a pleasant detour. I did not leave with a calendar this time, but I left with a few contenders in mind and a clearer sense of what might land on my desk come January.
