I've ordered from this shop many times online, and they've always been quick, communicative, and really sweet! I had an order once where inventory on the site didn't match what they had on-hand (technology, amirite?) and the owner emailed me right away to ask if I wanted a refund, a different version of the item at the same price, or to wait for a new one to come in stock. Here you can find tons of great clothing for men & women, accessories, home goods, gifts, and most popular of all- records!! The staff at Modern Legend is always extremely helpful- they want to help you find what you need! If you don't see a record you want, you can request it and they'll get it in for you. The products sold in this store are of the highest quality for the fairest prices. The owner is constantly asking customers for their opinions on instagram, which I love because it makes you feel like you're a part of this store snd its community that shops here. The products they sell they try to support small businesses and boutiques, it's not things that you could just find on Amazon. The owner is always taking suggestions on new shops or stores to carry in her storefront. She's still seeking a business for clothing that carries plus size clothing for women- that's ALSO affordable, which I'd love to see! I had first discovered Modern Legend going with a buddy to drop of some merchandise. The staff is fantastic and shop has beautifully evolved over the years. I don't visits as often as I would like, but it has become a yearly tradition to grab a few cool items for my wife's Christmas stocking. Their clothing items and accessories help provide just the right flair to your day. I love that their vinyl selection continues to expand. Solid prices on everything in the shop as well. When friends from out of town ask what they need to do when in town, Modern Legend is always a go to. My wife was wearing a dress she bought from ML and on a trip, she was stopped multiple times to get compliments on the dress or ask where she had purchased it. Kitsch and cool little shop on the main drag through downtown Wilmington. The whole vibe made me think like flower-power hippy meets modern liberal SJW. The entrance is inside a small indoor mall-like area that seems to have a few more spots for shops. It's not too hard to find. The one woman working here was very friendly and helpful. There was even a very chilled-out dog sleeping behind the counter. The back wall has a long row of records with a panel of fun pins and patches at the end of it. My cousin bought some records - Queen and Led Zeppelin. There are lots of accessories: hats, wallets, keychains, scarves, bandanas. Some pillows, mugs, pendant flags and plenty of t-shirts. Not to forget would be the candles and body care products for hair, beard, skin, etc. A very chill little store worth stopping into while strolling around town. read more

I love, love,love Modern Legend! It's one of our absolute must-stop locations when we're in Wilmington. The store makes me feel like I'm hanging out with my cool older cousin who's sharing all the secrets of her radness with me. The store has a great selection of items, including novelties (mugs, notepads, puzzles, enamel pins), a great selection of recent vinyl releases, and a mid-size selection of clothes. Unlike the other stores on the strip, ML definitely doesn't lean into tourist ware; instead, they stock a hip supply of Wilmington and NC-themed items that subtly show off one's local pride. They also have a great selection of pop culture-thened items. In short, ML is great. Stop by - I think you'll love it, too. read more
