First time: My first time there wasn't all that bad, quite a large line, with only a couple people working, nobody seemed that friendly or welcoming at all, but it is a bottle depot so I really didn't care... Second time: I was the only person waiting in line for my bottles to be sorted, however all the "booths" or whatever you want to call them, were full. There was one empty counter and a employee walked up to it, without acknowledging me at all. At this exact moment a woman (of the same race as all the employees) walked in and walked right up to his counter and he started helping her. After waiting for another free both I finally walked up to a man who was free and dumped all my bottles on the counter. He didnt say hi, then walked away and started doing something else. I waited 10 minutes for someone else to finally come up to me and sort my bottles. As mine were being sorted a lady next to me was trying to complain (and I say trying to complain because noone that works there speaks english), saying that her bottle sorter man was counter TWO customers bottles at the same time. I then waited another 5 minutes for a cashier to cash in my money. Third time: I never made it into the bottle depot. First thing, online it says they are open until 7 pm. This is incorrect. I arrived there at 5:25, open sign on and doors still open. Walked up and grabbed a shopping cart from beside the entrance doors. At this moment a man was standing randomly in the door way just looking outside. I took my cart to my car and starting loading my bottles. Half way through loading I looked up and he was closing gates over the doors and had turned off the open sign. He didn't even tell me they were closing when he was standing right next to me. I HATE this place. I think they are racist and rip people off, and I wont be coming back.

Service is quick with some vending machines, shopping carts, ok parking and self pay out which is nice. Overall avoid on weekends during mornings but overall expect to wait 10-15 minutes.

I saw the great reviews here for Chinook Bottle Depot and thought I'd check them out. The first thing I noticed is how quiet the machines were-no yelling to talk to the attendant. She gave me the exact amount for my bottles! And no line-ups! The second time I went, a man working there came out, brought a cart to my car, and helped me fill it up w/ my bottles. I've NEVER had this happen at any other depot. They have earned my patronage, and I will be driving the extra km to come here! Very impressed :)

The place does get busy at times, but I seldom wait more than a few minutes. The payment system (scanner) is a bit temperamental. However as the other customers are typically nice, someone else in line will help you get the machine to scan and dispense your money. The reason I called was to get a bunch of tall cans for a Guinness World Record attempt that requires me to throw frisbee at cans. All of the other depots weren't helpful and some were in fact quite rude. However, Dean, the manager at the North Hill depot was super friendly and helpful and after explaining to him last week what I needed, he called me back today and said they were ready to be picked up. I can't thank Dean enough - without his help I don't know where I would have gotten the cans for my Guinness World Record attempt. Thanks again Dean!!
