The reason I called was to get a bunch of tall cans for a Guinness World Record attempt that requires me to throw frisbee at cans. All of the other depots weren't helpful and some were in fact quite rude. However, Dean, the manager at the North Hill depot was super friendly and helpful and after explaining to him last week what I needed, he called me back today and said they were ready to be picked up. I can't thank Dean enough - without his help I don't know where I would have gotten the cans for my Guinness World Record attempt. Thanks again Dean!!

The most valuable service being their ability to PICK-UP the bottles from the bottle-drive meeting site. Or, in the case of our "reverse" bottle-drive for our Timbit team, we had Marklan Bottle Depot meet us at one of the arenas 30 minutes prior to practice, and had everyone from the team bring in their collected bottles and deposit them into Marklan's large truck. Doesn't get any quicker/easier than that! Immy (owner) is extremely personable, friendly, reliable and always available via cell-phone. In our particular experience, service went above and beyond expectations in that the owner personally delivered our team cheque after the event, given that we live in neighboring communities. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this business to anyone... you won't be disappointed! 5 star rating. :-)

As soon as you walk in you realize this isn't your average thrift store. The store is well laid out, organized and has that fantastic smell of used gear (but in a good way); it all brings back good memories of the past. They have a good assortment of records (yes vinyl is making a comeback). And they are dirt cheap; mostly costing less than a buck! I picked up two records and it cost me a toonie. How great is that!! The store shelves are organized in a great way, great friendly and inviting owners, wonderful jazz music was playing in the background, housewares, books, clothing, toys, electronics and even furniture were available to snap up. Be careful, walk into Junk in the Trunk and you'll be walking into a time-warp that you may not want to leave.
