I nearly ate the pocket lint or what vile remnants remained on a donut that seemingly had been dropped on the floor. Rather than cutting the loss of a tragically fallen donut they opt to do the unthinkable, the unimaginable and stock the puffy pastry back on the brightly lit shelves with the rest of the decadent comrades. Just in time for me, the unknowing, ever relying, occasional patron of this drab destitute bakery establishment where my only standard is that they do their job to the most okayest, in a clean manner on par with any other poorly ran Port Hueneme, beach grunge-Esk, location. After taking three bites and nearly reaching the jelly nuclei, I rolled the donut over to find this grotesque atrocity. I am saddened deeply to think of the donuts I will never have, but quite happy to know this didn't wind up on my tongue. The accident occurred from dropping it on the floor but my disappointment is from them kicking it into the corner and putting it back on the shelve. My heart aches! read more

Was shocked because I have been a regular in the last couple months now I know to never go back. I got bad stomach aches and 3 days still and now will go doctor because have diarrhea 3x's a day. Came here in the early afternoon with the family on Fathers Day. Sadly the selection was very slim even though they seemed to have a steady flow of customers. What we ended up with was good but nothing special. The woman there seemed to lack in personality and sense of humor. Overall this is just your typical doughnut shop. read more

Got a donut (at 5 pm, random craving) and I decided to try this Spudnuts. Got a heart donut for my boyfriend and some blueberry donut holes for myself. The holes were okay a little too sweet but I decided to take a bite of the chocolate heart. When I pulled it out of the bag the whole bottom of the donut was wet with icing like it was sitting there for more then the afternoon. I know I went late but it was like slimey, never seen a donut from a donut shop like that only grocery stores. Will definetly stick with the Spudnuts on Victoria always fresh and great breakfast sandwiches. read more

Fascinating little donut shop with amazing fluffy donuts. It does look incredibly run down and is in a run down shopping plaza, but don't let that put you off. Huge selection of donuts available on a Thursday afternoon and everything we had tasted fresh and delicious. My children actually finished all their donuts which is unusual - they usually eat the frosting and a bit more. Specials include enormous donuts and bacon topped donuts. Just left without buying one doughnut for our family and friens. My son has a peanut allergy. Even the donuts that aren't peanuts had peanuts accidentally scattered and spilled all over the other donuts. I proceeded to ask the girls working there if they can get a plain donut and put clean frosting and sprinkles on it. They refused and said "no, we have peanuts everywhere here we can't take that risk". I'm shocked. Who doesn't like fresh donuts 24/7? Normally the urge hits me in the wee hours of the morning after one to many drinks at a local dive venue. Think Rudder Room. Nothing beats a robust flour and sugar concoction to sop up the excess alcohol in the bloodstream before calling it nighty night. Just one problem with this location. On two successive occasions, the advertised 24 operation has been unmanned and locked down despite the glaring open sign in the window and a well illuminated shop. This store and the grounds are filthy. Mismatching torn and filthy chairs and dirty tables. In addition to that my donut was stale not one day stale more like 2 to 3 days stale. Their card machine was not working and apparently this wasn't a new issue either. I don't understand why people will accept this kind of service and poor quality. read more

This place is like a hidden gem to most of Ventura county. It has been around for years and has a great family style atmosphere. I tend to go once a week on my days off and see the same people sitting out side and enjoying the good food and great coffee. All the regulars and the staff are very friendly. The prices are great, the food is made in house and fresh and they are open 24 hours a day. What more can you ask for from a donut shop? Enjoy! read more

when we feel the need to go overboard on sweets, we head to this tiny shop and order the GINORMOUS glaze doughnut. it takes up the whole box, costs $5 and feeds like 5 people. but when they are out of their GINORMOUS doughnuts, we take our pick of all the other freshly made selection. my fave is the chocolate doughnut with nuts and my hubby enjoys the plain glaze. they are just great! and hit the sweet tooth spot perfectly. we never forget to order a cup of coffee. they always have a fresh selection of coffees available with all the condiments to make your cup perfect. they also have other juices/milk/sodas available. the staff has always been kind, helpful and very friendly. no complaints! read more

Quite simply, this place has Soul. And I dont mean a Soul bumper sticker like the dozens of transplants driving around the neighborhood. When you enter this establishment in the morning you can expect to find a case full of freshly prepared potato flour excellence, crafted with pride by the enthusiastic staff. A refreshing scene all around contrasted with your stereotypical ancient looking dude behind the counter of almost every other donut shop, who just spent 30 minutes out in the back alley chain smoking and waiting for a customer to serve yesterday's donuts to. I recently requested a last-minute order of 12 dozen donuts for a city function with 180 people.. they were able to accommodate no problem with less than 12 hour notice. My husand and I have become regulars and we come here almost once every.single.week. in the morning - usually before we go to work. The family that works at this location is SUPER nice. Chris is working almost all of the time, and he is just an all around awesome/friendly guy to just chit chat with. The donuts and coffee are always fresh and we've never been disapointted! The Cappuccinos are good and are much larger than what you would get at coffee bean or starbucks (especially for the price). We've tried the crossiant sandwhiches here (also very good) and pretty much all of the donuts - they are always coming up with new exciting flavors like maple bacon and red velvet - not to mention cronuts (croissant donuts) and the extra large donuts that feed like 10 people. A family gathering brought us to oxnard. We were in search of something to yelp worthy...and we were close to the end of our journey and stumbled upon SPUDNUTS! I heart donuts!!! However, the average person would think that Spudnuts was just your average donut shoppe... I'm here to at least try to convince you otherwise. I had seen a similar concept on Food network and wasn't sure (and still not sure) if Spudnuts was infact a local chain of independent owners or a low key franchise?? Anywhoo... I remembered on foodnetwork, what separated spudnuts from any other donut shoppe was that they were made with potato flour. ?? What's the difference you ask? I'll get to that... This location was in their marina district probably aka channel islands?? nice location, very local, beachy, and nicely tourist friendly! On foodnetwork, Spudnuts had this huge signature donut that needed to be cut out using a 5 gallon bucket. yes..nice visual huh? But instead of trying that big donut, we opted to try a couple of their regular sized donuts. We had the maple twist, chcolate glazed old fashioned, sugar and cinamon donut, The lady (I think she was an owner) even kicked in a glazed for us to try because that was all she ate - how sweet of her! All of the donuts were soft, yummy, and yes donuts...All were great choices.. especially the maple twist... the smell alone had me craving pancakes with maple syrup afterwards! I kid you not! Prices of the donuts were reasonable even the large one was under $4! After our indugement, we were left with a couple of half pieces which I brought back to SD. The Next Morning, I understood the concept of Spudnuts and that was why I felt they were deserving of the 5 stars. I decided to try to eat the left over donuts. I totally expected a stale, day old, typical donut.... OH NO~~~~ you would be surprised! The donuts were as good as they were when we purchased them the day prior! So, if you're ever in oxnard, this would be a definte stop, and even take a couple for the drive home, because you know that they will be great the next day! I wish oxnard had other yelp worthy spots... but, unfortunately not.. so, when you think OKnard... remember to think of SPudnuts!!! So based on location, quality of product, and cost, I believe they deserved a 5 stars in my book! read more

This is our favorite donut place in our area. The employees are friendly, there is a great selection on the menu, and the donuts are delicious! The old-fashioned donuts have a great dough that is moist, tasty, and the icing is awesome as well! I also love the yeast donuts they have, chocolate one in particular. Coffee boxes worked well when feeding a crowd for breakfast. I was surprised they had the option. Overall, quality donuts and local shop. I'll be visiting here often! :-) read more
