The gallery is packed with pieces,from sculptures to paintings. Pieces that capture both emotion, beauty and vision. The atmosphere is rich in taste as well as visual stimulation. Art is in the eye of the beholder and for me I beheld beauty on canvas. They have events, showcasing artists, that are a treat for the art interested. The staff are not just sales people they are guides to walk you through the works... each of them their own rendition of Virgil, there to walk you through your own private tour of the different levels of emersion. The place was packed with what I called the Haves and the Have Nots, but the diversity of the crowd did little to spoil the evening. Maybe it was the two models holding champagne trays as you entered the door. That did it for me if no one else. I saw old friends greet and hug, and newbies mingle with others over what I think is being called the galleries most provocative exhibition yet. There was other art to view, and one of these days, when I either hit the lottery or get a hold to the trust fund, I'm sure has been hidden from me, I will surely return and buy several pieces. Primarily, I think I'd rather hire Harriett out and have her do a DeeDee version of the "Pass the Salt" photograph that was hanging here. The long-awaited Arts Center in downtown Alpharetta is open now in the building formerly occupied…read moreby the Alpharetta Library. A new library was built three years ago at 10 Park Plaza. The new Arts Center has already had two exhibits of art - a Community of Artists show at the end of 2018 and recently a show by JOEKINGATL otherwise known as Joe Dreher. They have been offering a good assortment of classes in painting and drawing and ceramics. More classes will be coming soon. Summer Camps will also be offered.

The pace was perfect and I never felt as though we were moving too fast. There were only 4 people in my Sunday afternoon class which allowed plenty of opportunities for him to walk around and help us individually. We also had opportunities to take little snack/bathroom breaks. The building is shared with the library and since that's closed on Sundays, there was usually ample parking. Sometimes there would be a children's performance in the theater near our studio but it was never really disruptive. Although sometimes, there would be less parking spots near the studio entrance on those days. I genuinely enjoyed taking this class at Spruill! I hope to take more classes here in the future and I even told my friends about it. The classes are reasonably priced for the quality of instruction that they offer, and there may be a few need-based scholarships available on their website. I believe there is a donation-based supply closet available to students who are currently enrolled in art classes, but the closet itself is only open during the week. Overall, I think Spruill is a great place hone any craft and I would love to take more classes in the future.

I originally stopped by in search of pottery classes--and was delighted to find not only that they offer them, but also that a new session begins on October 13th. In addition, there's a Fall Break Art Camp for grades 2-5, where children will experiment with a range of media including watercolor, acrylics, and collage. As I walked through the space, I was able to watch artists at work and enjoy the current gallery exhibits on display. The atmosphere was inspiring and welcoming. Adult fall classes--running October 6th through December 13th--are also available, covering both visual and ceramic arts. Each class is taught by individual instructors, making it approachable for students of all levels. Best of all, online registration makes it simple to sign up. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that such a wonderful resource has been right in my neighborhood all along. It was a great experience, and I've already registered for pottery classes--something I'm really excited about!
