The Art Center is truly a hidden gem for creativity and learning in our community. Whether you're a…read morechild exploring art for the first time or an adult looking to refine your skills, there's something here for everyone. I originally stopped by in search of pottery classes--and was delighted to find not only that they offer them, but also that a new session begins on October 13th. In addition, there's a Fall Break Art Camp for grades 2-5, where children will experiment with a range of media including watercolor, acrylics, and collage. As I walked through the space, I was able to watch artists at work and enjoy the current gallery exhibits on display. The atmosphere was inspiring and welcoming. Adult fall classes--running October 6th through December 13th--are also available, covering both visual and ceramic arts. Each class is taught by individual instructors, making it approachable for students of all levels. Best of all, online registration makes it simple to sign up. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that such a wonderful resource has been right in my neighborhood all along. It was a great experience, and I've already registered for pottery classes--something I'm really excited about! If you're looking for a place to explore your creative side, I highly recommend checking out the Art Center. Great value for 8 weeks art class at $280

Many of the students are planning to go back for the same week next summer. He learned how to make his own pieces and glaze them. I highly suggest checking this place out.

My son takes night classes here and loves it!…read more I found them by chance and immediately did some digging to discover more. Having taken many art classes myself I wanted to be sure that this was a good place to send my son for him to expand his love of art. I talked directly to the owner and felt good about it. I decided to try it and so far my son loves it! He does the extended class which is 1.5 hours long and not just the reg hour. At times I think he wishes it was longer... lol. The cost is reasonable but on the website they don't have a way to pay for the 6 months extended class and get the discount. I had to talk to the owners again and it was a bit messy getting that all taken care of. However it has been very worth it! I would sign my son up again in a heart beat. And will keep him going as long as he wants to go.

Her first piece of art that she brought home was a drawing of an old man and there was no story or pride from the work, she just shrugged. My 6-year-old LOVES art, I've never seen her be nonchalant about art so I pulled her out and she's in a different program now, thriving. She should be psyched about her work. This place might be great for older kids but I'd find something less prescriptive for the younger students.

Some can't paint the painting to look like the 'model' painting and aren't helpful with technique. It's a crap shoot based on who you get. They are all nice. I was there 2 days ago, and the experience was fun with my group. Today I am so disappointed. My niece and I were so excited to do the Eiffel Tower painting because we've just been to Paris together, and the silhouettes in the painting look like us. We've been telling everyone we were doing it and have been planning for 3 weeks. At 2:00 today they let me know not enough people signed up and they canceled the class. We are so bummed. Maybe they wouldn't have made a lot of money tonight, but they lost all of our future business. I'm sadly looking for new places to paint.

When I arrived at Crabapple Market, I marveled at the beauty of the new mixed-use development made to look like an industrial redesign with rustic and cozy touches. AR Workshop is on the second floor and as I went in last night, I thought the interior aesthetic was in unison with its outside appearance. Check out some of my photos to see. There's a sense of wonder and tactility as you move about the workshop and I got excited about what the evening held in store. I was there for a floral arranging workshop with Bloom Crabapple, the floral design business of my dear friend, Anita Jupin, of over 10 years. I've loved her since I met her, but for those unfamiliar with her, her discerning eye for design and gentle, patient instruction captivate from the first instance. My sister and I sipped on bubble tea that I grabbed from around my way as we painted our planter's boxes and built up our beautiful and wildly different floral arrangements. I went to the workshop mostly to support Bloom Crabapple but I left asking metaphysical and existential questions about life and myself. Yeah, some deep thoughts and feelings. Maybe you don't need all that but you'll still have tons of fun playing. Working with your hands and your imagination simultaneously. I'm not sure when the last time was that I really did that, as I've been raised to color between the lines, but man, I seriously can't wait to participate in another workshop soon.
