The amount of pottery that you can choose from to paint was a little overwhelming but I landed on a skateboard. There's also a plethora of paint to choose from. Be aware that some paints are not dishwasher safe. You'll know by confirming with an employee or if there's a specific letter in the paint numbers of your paint tube. You can grab an apron to avoid paint on yourself. If you do get paint on yourself it's able to be washed out but I didn't want to try it. There's one hand wash station where you will also drop off your used paint tiles and paint brushes. Once you get the run down on what to do from an employee you're on your own. There's a display that shows how your paint will look on your pottery depending on if you do 1-3 coats of paint. Time will fly quickly so I painted as much as I could and went over areas a lot. You can have finished pottery shipped to you but it could be more cost-effective to have one person pick up all the pottery if you have multiple and ship it yourself. When you pick up your pottery you'll get to carry it out in the store's new reusable bag. It was very cute. There's not much parking outside but that's the area for you. It's a fun activity to do with a group. My children and I were looking for an activity to do with a couple of older ladies that was not necessarily outside in the hot sun. We settled on All Fired Up in Alpharetta because it was inside but most importantly it was an activity...10 & 7 year olds only have so much of an attention span when hanging out with adults 60+.... I looked online and they suggested reserving a table to make sure you had space BUT the reservation date window was closed online - they want you to do it 3 days in advance (I was 2 days), so I called... They reserved us a table easy peasy. Parking is a little difficult because it's not close to the main Downtown Alpharetta Parking lot - so if you have little kids that aren't easy to contain or don't want to walk far you have to hunt. I parked right off the street (but I got lucky). Give yourself some time to find parking. We walked in and the girl behind the counter was very friendly and super helpful. She explained to my kids what to do in a way that was engaging and they listened. All the ceramics to paint were on the walls grouped by category for the most part. Both of mine painted boxes - $26/$28. My friends painted a light switch and flower - $12/$15 You pick your piece then head to the paint wall and pick up the colors - they suggest no more than 3 colors but it's up to you what and how much. They did say the more "coats of paint" the better it'll look when it's fired. We painted and talked and enjoyed ourselves. Four items came to about $95 which is perfectly fine for an afternoon activity that you then get to keep later. We went on a Wednesday, our pieces will be ready on a Wednesday (so about a week). In my opinion, this is the best pottery painting location in Metro Atlanta. I really enjoy painting pottery here with my wife and daughter (and sometimes even my son when he's not too cool for us). The service here is always friendly and helpful, the turn times for firing your pottery is short and they have by far the best selection of blank pottery. So, by far my favorite but there are a few drawbacks I'll mention. Sometimes they have customers kneading wet clay which includes loudly slamming it on a table. The sudden, loud noise makes it hard to concentrate on your work of art. Also, the music they play as background noise is sometimes played very loudly, making it hard to have a conversation. A few of their nearby competitors have outside, covered seats available which is great on a pretty day. Finally, the pricing here is a bit steep. This place is so great. I came here for mommy daughter date night per my 6 year olds request. The space has a lot of tables and could be fun for birthday parties. They have a good selection of pottery to choose from. You go and select your own paints and the person working was very nice and explained the entire process. Walked in with my sister in law and was greeted right away. The wonderful young lady told us how the process worked which is pretty simple and we began to look for our items that we were going to paint. They have everything you need to paint the ceramic pieces and so many pieces to choose from. We both choose some mugs and began creating. This place got me all fired up... in a good way! My fam and I decided to paint and make pottery one weekend afternoon. All Fired Up is located in downtown Alpharetta. We parked adjacent to the building. Parking is limited, but street parking is available throughout downtown Alpharetta. There is also a public parking garage near city hall. All free. AFU was pretty busy when we arrived, but there were plenty of space and seating for our group of 6. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They explained the process, the paint, and helped our little one create her own mug. There were plenty of options to choose from. They had a wide variety of mugs, plates, bowls, figurines, and more. They also had a nice selection of paint - regular and ones with glitter. I decided to paint a travel mug - $28. Paint and tools are already included in that price. We decided to visit on New Year's Eve to do something special and get out of the cold. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted and were offered a nice long table for our entire family. The young lady was very efficient. She cleaned a table, gave us instructions and left us to select our piece of pottery and paint. They have a wide selection to chose from, and all their Holiday pottery was 50% off. The two young ladies working did a nice job at keeping the place clean and organized. The place was not very busy when we arrived, one other family and a single lady. However, the amount of chatter and personal business that was being discussed by the cashier/greeter was so loud it was annoying to our entire group. We decided to drown her out by playing classical music at our table. This didn't last very long as she then proceeded to clean the shelves next to us and stack the pieces of pottery on the table we were using while still talking to the other girl. For me this wasn't an issue until she started talking to a couple that had just walked in about a customer with a party of 8 from the previous day. How annoying the lady is and how she comes in all the time. It was sad to see her lack of respect for the patrons of the business. Her lack of professionalism really took away from the "Stress Free" ambiance. I waited to write my review until today when I picked up our pottery, to make sure I gave it a fair chance. But again, today she was complaining about the owner bringing her children in and disorganizing all the bags. Fun time with the kiddos. A little chaotic / not super direct communication with how things go but was a good time nonetheless

The young lady working in this location was extremely rude and forcefully belligerent towards me yesterday. The store was closed for renovations and an arrangement was made by me with Mia a coworker there, to pickup a piece of pottery . I was told to text when I arrived and my pottery would be handed to me through the door. When I did as told, I was totally ignored by all workers inside. I banged hard and loud on the door and finally this person came yelling at me and wouldn't let me tell her why and what my reason for being there. She screamed at me and FORCEFULLY pulled the door shut. I have NEVER been treated like this in my life. Mia realizes what transpired and came out another door and apologized and gave me my pottery. This is absolutely no way an employee should treat a customer and I will never return there again! Why don't places of business teach and expect courteousness and respect of others from there staff? read more

[TL;DR] Nice place to unwind and do a little something creative. Feel free to bring in your beer, wine, and snacks to release your inner Picasso. I've been here several times and have always had the same consistent experience -- peace and serenity. Of course, it might be wise to peer in to make sure a children's party isn't in progress before you waltz in wanting to clear your personal space. If you don't know how it works, the prices for pottery will seem expensive since you could probably find the thing *finished* in a store for the same price ... and sometimes less. Think about it though. You're getting use of their supplies (paints, brushes, sponges, etc), they fire your pottery in their kiln, and you get use of their facilities until you finish it. One year, I made the fatal mistake of doing hand-made Christmas ornaments as gifts. Off and on, I spent three days in there. (My hands also contorted into knobby, twisted limbs... but that's another story.) No additional charge. Anyway, lots of good places to eat nearby so make it a date. Go paint a little with wine, get something to eat when your hands cramp up, and then go back and finish it up. read more

If your like me with no patience lol I just painted one of the pieces they have. There are many items to choose from and the paint is unlimited. The staff was very engaged with us and made sure we knew what they offered. The seating is plentiful ,making this place the idea place for larger groups. Employee, "Joy" was incredibly rude and condescending, and also demanded a "picture" from me because "you come in all the time and never bring a picture". she made no sense and when I asked what she was talking about, she knew she was wrong and probably thought I was someone else but refused to change her tone or apologize. it was beyond bizarre. My daughter witnesses this horrible treatment and suffice it to say that her birthday was ruined. I contacted management to understand more and get a response but, surprise, surprise, no response. A frequent visitor to the Emory Village location, we decided to #thinkOTP and try out the Alpharetta store this time. My niece was in town (age 12) and she loves to paint pottery. Also in tow - my mom who is 71. Where else can you find an activity that keeps 3 generations occupied and happy? The staff was very welcoming - offering to show us around, give us their spiel, etc. I explained I had been to the other location, so they said just to holler if we needed anything. We went about picking our pieces to paint and picking out a table. My niece picked something medium, but easy, I went large and not intricate while my mom went small and super detailed... they have something for everyone. I was thrilled they had Halloween items already in August - big plus for me. The beauty of AFU is that they have a ton of colors and you can use as many as you like and there is no charge for the time you are on site painting. Other places around town charge an hourly fee and allow you only 4 colors. Not here! Now common courtesy is in play - you leave the colors up front, and just put some on your palate to take to your table. You can always go back for more. I've never had a problem with this. The staff is always willing to help, give advice, direction, etc., especially for the newbies, plus there are plenty of example pieces around to show you how colors interact (light on dark versus dark on light, 1 coat versus 3) to help you on your way. I've always been happy with my resulting piece. Usually, once you finish painting your item, the turn around to get your item back is less than a week. A great idea for kids, grown-ups, ladies night, bachelorette parties, really any group outing for creative folks! Went back with my husband, aunt and uncle. This time, they get 1 star for letting us exchange one of the pieces that we had to hurriedly buy at our last visit. I'm giving a half star for their printing of a requested template and the other 1/2 for for managing to hold my husband's interest for 2 hours. Thank goodness they have football helmets & car pottery. The 3 stars they lose are still in customer service. Two girls were working last Saturday evening when we went in and there were 3 other small parties in the joint. My uncle has never done this and when he asked for some guidance, the response was "Well, sure, if you need it, but the instructions are there" as she points to a wall covered in plates. Maybe it's just me, but I would think artist's would be hired to run a place like this - and would show more enthusiasm for something that should be a passion. They were too busy looking at their computer, snacking and chatting. Something about employees who treat their customers as an inconvenience irks me to no end! In addition to that, I just had a lot going on mentally and I found that this place really helps with my anxiety. It's soothing, in a therapeutic type of way. Painting gives me the same type of euphoria that I have when I'm working out. My mind is able to declutter and my thoughts are a lot clearer. What a great way to spend an evening or afternoon. All Fired Up is located on Main Street in Alpharetta. The establishment offers a variety of ceramic pieces that one can select and then decorate. The pieces range in price from $25 - roughly $45. The price includes the painting/decorating session and you get to keep the piece you decorated. I prefer to make reservations because by doing so, I am guaranteed my own table. Walk ins are welcome though. Once a piece is selected, you peruse the extra tools they supply for ideas and different painting methods. There are books to show you different ideas, stencils, pencils, sponges, brushes, and other neat items that help you create a unique piece. I went with my sister and brother in law. We selected three items - a vase, a plate, and a mail holder. Once we selected our pieces, we were joined by a staff member who explained the entire process to us, gave us tips, and answered our questions. I would like to add that most of the staff members are extremely knowledgeable and professional. We sat around painting, laughing, releasing all stress, and enjoying one another's company for a good 2 1/2 hours. Once we finished decorating our pieces, we returned them to the staff so they could bake them for us to return a beautiful finished product. This process takes about 4 days, so don't go there thinking you will leave with the piece you created. You are required to pick it up approximately 4 days later. I really enjoy coming here to relax and be creative. The sky is the limit with what you can create. The end product always looks good, no matter how "imperfect" it may be. read more

Wow! What an amazing experience we had this past weekend!! I booked a private party for my sons 7th birthday. I wanted something fun but different because he has a large co-Ed group of friends. I found All Fired Up, from the moment I called with questions, the girls were sooo helpful and answered my questions with great detail! I called several times and every time they were so nice and pleasant on the phone. Saturday I came earlier to set up for the party, there were 3 girls there, they immediately showed us where we would be setting up, and were so kind and helpful. Through out the party there were announcements being made as to what was to be expected and giving helpful information. They were always asking if I needed help with anything to make things easier. We had an AMAZING EXPERIENCE at this location. I forgot candles for my sons cake‍ and they went the extra mile to give me candles and a lighter, they played music and were so so nice and courteous!! They offer glass art and pottery painting with tons of choices and as much (or little) instruction as you want! No need to stress and no worries about whether or not you have talent - it's all about enjoying yourself and creating memories. Having visited three times, for three different occasions, here's my perspective: Location: on Main Street in downtown Alpharetta, a block from the local restaurants and across the street from City Hall. Ambiance: fun and casual. Not a place to dress up - after all, you're dealing with paint. Pricing: from $5 (small pottery flower) to $40+ (large platters) so you can stay within a budget or go all out. You pick your pottery, paint it and they fire it for you - note that it can take a few days for it to be fired...they don't do that at the time of your visit First visit was with hubs and it was a spur of the moment decision. We had a great time and uncovered a vein of painting talent in him - he painted a VERY realistic looking leaf bowl. Second visit was work related - I took my team (and a cooler) and we spent two very enjoyable hours creating everything from pet water bowls to vases. Third visit was my birthday party - sixteen adults, several bottles of wine, a few six packs of beer and a lot of food (including a birthday cake!). This seems to be a staple of friends bachlorette parties. and family outings We go next door and grab a growler or 3... and then come on over and get our paint on. I have a tendency to paint food and water bowls for my Bassett Hound Id love to think that I am artistic and creative, but then i would be delusional. This is an outing that is fun for everyone, You can be artsy fartsy or lucky to draw a stick figure, and between the helpful staff and HUGE selection of things to do, there really is something for everyone, and now they have glass-ery too! I took two little girls here for my good deed of the weekend. They (employees) are friendly, helpful, and attentive. The store is stocked with tons of items to paint: cups, plates, statues, picture frames. While its a great little place, I'm not entirely sure its a great place for small kids. This is actually a good place to take a date. For men and women. It's basically playing with paint and glass. You pick what you want to do, they supply everything and then either step back and let you play, or stay with you and guide you. You tell them which you prefer. We created a few items on our date. You can make anything from coffee mugs, to dragons and garden gnomes, dinner plates, stained glass or water pitchers to piggy banks. You can also bring food and drinks. We brought a bottle of wine and spent the afternoon 'creating'. It does take a few days after you make your items, to get them. They explained that they had to 'fire' them a few times to cure them. I came here to be part of a surprise party and had a great time. Admittedly, it seems like a lot of the ceramic pieces are kind of expensive, but considering all the materials and supplies they provide you, it's worth it. Even so, they don't push you to finish by a certain time since you leisurely walk in and just paint a piece. My date and I picked a gigantic coffee mug to paint. When I say gigantic, I mean, this thing probably could hold 3 gallons of liquid. We finished in the span of a few hours, but even the helpers asked us if we wanted to come back another day to touch up our mug. However, we were happy with it and the coffee mug actually came out nicer than we expected. It's a little difficult to tell with the glazes while you're painting, but these pieces really do look much nicer once they've been fired and have that shiny, polished exterior.
