Let me start off this review by stating that I'm a fairly organized person. I read Marie Kondo cover to cover, have done my fair share of folding t-shirts into rectangles, and have no weird attachments to my childhood pajamas. However, that doesn't mean I don't have junk rooms that I close the door on. My husband and I have known Rachel for years so we finally asked her for help for organizing our laundry room and garage, which looked like a tornado went through it. I appreciated her lack of judgment, her willingness to be curious and ask questions about our lifestyle, and act as a guide and coach rather than just coming in to tidy our rooms for us without a plan on how to maintain the space. End result? The laundry room clutter is 95% gone. My toddler can run around the garage now without (too much) fear that she'll get her hands on a bolt or a bottle of chemicals. And that pile of giveaways that my husband's been meaning to take to Goodwill has miraculously disappeared. Yes, you can do it yourself. Yes, it's not hard to tidy. But yet, why do so many people psychologically resist? This is why people like Rachel exist. Everybody needs a Rachel. She's a magical Unicorn. I have been trying to organize my classroom materials storage area in my home for two years and have been wasting time trying to find items and constantly reorganizing things. It was driving me crazy. Then along came Rachel and now all my things are organized into systems that are user friendly and perfectly tailored to the mom/ classroom teacher who has no time but wants to be able to put out materials and create an educational learning environment for her students and children. Awful. She charged me 500 dollars. She did a terrible job. She did a 50 dollar job. I've had much much better help with people from task rabbit who don't call themselves professional organizers. I've hired another organizer who is cheaper AND better. He is part of an organization that holds organizers to certain standards so folks like me aren't taken advantage of in the way Rachel did. read more

Rachel is uh-may-zing. I cannot begin to say just how amazing she is, but other clients/reviewers have hit the nail on the head: she may, in fact, be a unicorn, but we haven't been able to confirm OR deny this fact... I'm a believer. Of my own experience, I will say that Rachel is this century's Mary Poppins for adults in serious need of direction. For a procrastinator and rambling story teller like me, I found Rachel makes the decluttering and organization process a combination of hard work, space therapy, and decision making I might not otherwise be able to complete on my own. A couple minutes of story time and before I knew it we had everything, and I mean EVERYTHING out in the open, pulled from cupboards, back corners, those cobwebby parts of your psyche that retain useless memories and attachments to inanimate objects, and the junk from every box. A few hours of work and we made more headway together than I'd be able to do on my own in years... Literally, years. On a business note, I've had my fair share of experience with organization services. Rachel is in a category of her own. While a few of my prior experiences were fun and productive, this time it's remarkably different in feel and value. I'm lucky enough to have a lot of storage in my kitchen, but despite that, I hated that room in my house. My husband and I moved in about five months ago. I had unpacked most of the house, but I left the kitchen to my husband since he cooks more, and I was exhausted. The result was everything being put in random cupboards and drawers. I couldn't find anything. Rachel came to my house, and in just a couple hours helped me to make sense of the chaos I was living with. The kitchen is now decluttered, the pantry is organized, and I know where everything is. Rachel is FANTASTIC. We have a closet and a living room shelf area that are constantly overwhelming, majorly in part to our struggle to downsize and get rid of the things we don't need. She helped walk us through taking every item, and helped talk me down from a few items I was struggling to let go of even though I knew we needed to. She's excellent at being friendly and encouraging, but also very good at keeping you honest with yourself about what to keep and what needs to go. I had thought about hiring a professional to help us out before, but I'd always worried that the "tough love" aspect that comes with helping get rid of stuff would be too much, but she was so easy to work with. She ended up hauling away a LOT of our stuff and the whole house feels lighter, even though we only worked in one specific area of the house. It's made a huge difference. She's also very thorough! Before we got started, we sent her pictures of the spaces we were working with so she already had a game plan when she showed up. When we ran out of time in our session, she still took the time to look at the kitchen (our second priority area) and write out a checklist of what we should consider next to help get it organized. She also talked tips and tricks for efficiently navigating large cleaning tasks without burning out and recommended a number of products that would work in our kitchen spaces. After it all, she followed up quickly in an email with a detailed recap of everything, including our before/after pictures and all of the tips she gave us for the kitchen. We still have a ways to go in some areas of the house and we're definitely hoping to have Rachel come back when it's time to get into the truly tough stuff (our garage!). read more

For the longest time, I was a pack rat. It's like the junior version of a hoarder. Everything was organized into totes and boxes, but I definitely had some things like garbage from a party I went to as a teenager, which I kept, probably because some guy I'd had a crush on was also at the party. Over the years, I've done a decent job of slowly getting rid of my own garbage. I took a small step into actual organization by having Rachel come over and go through just a few of the aforementioned totes with me. I ended up organizing a huge pile of notes I kept from high school, got rid of a ton of paper garbage, and cut down three big boxes into content that only half filled one box when it was all said and done. I very much look forward to hiring her for the bigger tasks I've been putting off. 8 months ago I made the decision to hire Rachel from Spruce with Rachel to organize my apartment. What a great decision that was. My fiancé and I hired Rachel to tackle our storage unit and the closet spaces in our shared apartment. I was hesitant to hire someone to help organize and clean out everything at first because I'm typically pretty good at decluttering and it felt like something I should do on my own. Rachel has a talent unlike anyone else! She is a natural motivator and people mover. After my father passed away and a long trip to Michigan, Rachel reached out to me to help me create some order in my home. She has a system to keep you engaged, on task, and she does it with a smile. I have worked with Rachel in the past and knew when I had a big project at work appear that she was just the person to help. The company had a filing system that was reminiscent of a personal home filing system, which is not at all what you would use to manage a company. Particularly a company that is growing fast. We needed someone to not only review years of old files and file them appropriately (chronological versus by name for some items, while others are by type of transaction and name) and then go through 2 years of documents that were not filed at all and stored in stacks.
