Seriously! I saw the most awesome kitchen transformation in my friends' house after they hired Seriously Happy Homes for the design! My friends love color, and the designers worked with them to take out a couple of walls, merge the dining area, and turn a closed L-shaped kitchen into an open festive space with yards of counter space, walls of cabinets, and easy seating for twelve! Did my friends love working with Seriously Happy Homes? Totally! Do they love the result? Absolutely! read more

Rebecca is an incredible designer, and you will be forever grateful to have hired her. She beautifully balances careful attention to detail with gorgeous vision and creativity. She is patient and kind as she walks you through the design process and answers your (inevitable) many questions each step of the way. We worked with her to redesign three spaces in our home: our kitchen, and two bathrooms. With each space, she found ways to approach them in new and practical ways when we felt otherwise overwhelmed. She guided us through choosing stunning finishes, and we received so many compliments from contractors and friends alike along the way. We had never done a remodel - and now, being on the other end of the process, we don't know where we would have been had we not had her detailed designs to guide us all along the way. Whenever questions arose, it was invaluable to have something so concrete to refer to, and we can't recommend this approach enough for anyone considering a remodel. read more

Shannon was incredibly helpful in walking us through the process of developing a new vision / plan for The Tiniest Kitchen in Seattle. She was smart, thoughtful, insightful, creative, and an incredible listener. She was a total joy to work with and we now have a clear and actionable plan for our re-model! read more

I had been obsessing over all the interior projects that needed to be done and felt stuck due to the many choices and lack of understanding design concepts. Did not want to make expensive mistakes! Rachel spent 90 minutes in my home and we covered everything from paint color (created a color story that includes every room), interior doors, lighting, fireplace, accessories - any questions. I was impressed with Rachel's professionalism and knowledge of interior design and look forward to implementing her recommendations with confidence! read more

I met Rachel for 90 minutes to do a Quick Action consultation. We are finishing up a remodel that added a new bedroom/bathroom/laundry room and reconfigured existing spaces. Our house is currently a blank canvas and I was at a loss regarding how to go about decorating and making the whole house flow together in a coordinated way. We have a couch, two chairs and dining table/chairs but otherwise are starting from scratch! Rachel was amazing. We started with my top priority--how to decorate the existing but slightly enlarged existing spaces before moving on to the addition. Rachel gave specific and clear recommendations and guidelines for what type of furniture would work well in each space, and how to coordinate with rugs, wall hangings and window coverings. She gave specific dimensions for the sizes of tables, wall art, rugs, etc. She also provided ideas around how to use color to make each space distinct yet coordinated as one home without it being overly "matchy". The whole experience was wonderful. After working with her, I no longer feel lost! I have a clear path forward for decorating our home and I feel excited to do so. For anyone who feels overwhelmed with making interior design choices in their home and isn't sure what direction to go, I highly recommend a consultation with Seriously Happy Homes. The advice and guidance I received from Rachel was worth every penny spent. Thanks Seriously Happy Homes! read more

Our great room TV was suspended above our fireplace in such a way that I always felt like I was in a hospital room. The tile surround on the fireplace seemed out of place with our style and the rest of the home. Enter Rebecca who helped us quickly and efficiently visualize what we needed. The end result makes us happy everytime we walk into the room. Couldn't be happier with it, seriously! read more

Really loved working with Summer!! She is smart, talented and was able to take our picture vision into real life. She is a joy to work with and absolutely the best decision I made! read more

Leigh did an amazing job at providing us home décor recommendations for our living room, bedroom and guest bath. It seems like she has that magical sense of space, layers and aesthetics and she could assimilate all of that information pretty nicely in our home. She recommended us great choices while keeping in mind our taste and preferences. Great work! The only thing I'd perhaps add as a suggestion is if there were some pre-chosen samples and ideas to show for getting across an idea or a concept, that would save some time and get things moving faster. Overall fully satisfied! read more

Hire them. It was the best decision we've ever made. We signed up for working with the Rebecca this past summer to come up with an interior design plan for our kitchen and two baths. The level of communication and the thoroughness of our final product exceeded our expectations. Their reports include graphics, paint colors, tile, suppliers, links to websites. We were shown actual samples. The company often drove by to drop additional samples off. All phases were clearly communicated. They even provided a list of recommended contractors. Professional and thorough through and through. read more

We had such a great experience working with Summer! We chose the Quick Action session. In a short time we nailed down what was taking weeks of going back and fourth on decisions. We also felt the goals we expressed for the session were met. Additionally, we were left with great suggestions for resources moving forward! Great experience and highly recommend! read more

Summer is fantastic! She made me immediately feel comfortable. I had a page and a half of ideas written down from her visit. All down to earth, doable changes. She has specific help and at the same time let's you direct the conversation. It's a great skill. I was still negatively impacted by a visit from a designer from a different firm two years ago and Summer helped me get over it. I think she'd made a good psychologist! Can't recommend her enough. Thanks! read more

Loved our experience with SHH! We worked with Angela for remodel plans for our entire home. She is detailed, collaborative, and a joy to work with. She came with great ideas and really helped us with materials, layouts, and solutions for tricky spaces and rooms. For the amount of work she did - the cost of the project was well worth it. Can't wait to put the plans into action and we would highly recommend Angela to anybody looking for a talented, and thoughtful interior designer to help revive your home! read more

I had a great session with Summer! We covered all my questions during my 90 minutes, and then some. I'm not a trained interior designer, but I have strong opinions; and Summer did a great job of adding a new perspective while giving me confidence in some of the decisions I had already made. (You might THINK you decided against putting your TV in that corner; but that's because you didn't consider moving the chair over there, and putting a shallow table behind your couch.) Reading design blogs can be more paralyzing than inspiring sometimes. But having a professional look at my home and give me tailored advice was invigorating! read more

We needed help in finalizing color design for new kitchen cabinets and flooring. We already knew the countertype we wanted as well as the paint color. Rachel came to our house for a 1.5 quick action session. It was amazing! Using her phone, Rachel gave us a visual sense of what different options would look like. She pointed out things to consider that could save costs and constantly worked to ensure our needs were being met. We can now go confidently into the final stages of design and purchasing. Highly recommend! Totally worth the money. read more

We have very little style sense and no eye for color. When we bought a house that looked like disco fever, we knew we needed to repaint the entire home, and were so daunted. We booked a 90-minute session with Sarah Ellen, and it's probably the best money we spent on the whole new house process! Sarah Ellen understood what we were going for, was patient with our millions of questions, and managed to help us select colors for every room in our home within the 90 minute appointment. The price was so reasonable compared to many "color consult" quotes we received. We move into our new home tomorrow, and we are so very pleased with the beautiful, easy, versatile, cozy color palette Sarah Ellen helped us choose. We will likely be scheduling more appointments with her in future for additional design needs! read more

We moved into a house without any living room furniture and decorations that could best be described (by us) as apathetic hoarding via parents who are downsizing. So we wanted to start fresh. A 90 minute QA session with Rebecca was exactly what we needed. Booking a session was super easy because of the quick and clear communications from the office. We received a reminder about the session a day in advance. There wasn't a moment where I was left wondering what needed to be done next or who would do it. QA session itself: Rebecca arrived on time and immediately got to work. She was great at getting us to prioritize what we should cover during the session, as well as guiding me and my husband towards an agreed upon design. With our budget and (short) timeline in mind, she led us to products in our price range that would work in our space (thanks to her incredible sense of proportions, practicality, and magical laser measuring tape!) She even was super mindful of the fact we have very active toddlers in selecting the pieces. After she left we immediately started to order pieces. They're starting to arrive and I can't wait to put everything together. Rebecca left me feeling inspired and empowered to take on this new house, and make it feel like home I can be proud to show off. I just might have to book more sessions to get more rooms done in the future :) read more

We worked with Rebecca and intern Rachel on our basement remodel design on the recommendation of a friend. It was a really wonderful experience - they were responsive, flexible (esp. as we debated endlessly on where a bathroom vanity should go), and landed us in a place where we are actually equipped to start this project. As evidence, as we interviewed contractors, one said that he had never seen a design document as good as the one Seriously Happy Homes provided, and it made the project biddable and doable. We had tried to find a contractor before having the design doc, and it was a failure - seriously, I won't go into another project like this without this design work up front. This was worth it. read more

If you're a self-motivated person who knows design is important but need a little guidance on what pieces to purchase, you need to get Rebecca's 90-minute Quick Action Session. Rebecca just came back to our house for the second time and has been invaluable in converting our home from the previous owner's Under The Tuscan Sun vibe to a Northwest contemporary concept my husband and I (and our family and friends) love! What I like best about Rebecca is how she can take abstract theories like color and texture and translate them to the design-ignorant like me. She doesn't tell you what table to buy, but she'll give you parameters on what to look for (Height, width, depth, types of materials to match your vibe). She'll also make a simple recommendation first before resorting to major things like remodeling a room, which is always good for budget purposes. (And your stress levels!) I can't recommend her 90-minute session enough to anyone who's looking to revamp their space but doesn't want the traditional "interior design" experience. read more

Absolutely wonderful. We were a little hesitant to hire a designer, we knew we needed one, but it isn't something we had ever done before and we weren't quite sure what to expect. We have been so incredibly happy with our experience, I am so happy to tell everyone about it! We met with Angela, and she worked to find a cohesive "style" between both of us, and then, created an unbelievable, and achievable plan. Along the way she kept us involved by giving us choices on everything, from throw pillows to wall placement. She never pressured us, and we felt good knowing that whatever we chose was ultimately going to work out great. (way better than standing in Pottery Barn trying to figure out what is going to work). I love the business model, that they provide you a VERY detailed plan (exactly where to hang things, etc) and provide you with the resources to purchase the items. This was perfect for us... it allows us to move forward with our plan at our own pace and also removed any sort of pressure, as she was not working on commission either. The design itself, is better than we could have ever imagined it could be! She nailed it perfectly. We have always felt like we were living in a house with a bunch of furniture in rooms, and that our home was too small. Really, we just needed to have a design, that reflected our needs and our style! We are SO EXCITED about every single detail. When we went to pottery barn to order a few of the items, it was fun to hear that someone else had just been in ordering furniture, who had also been working with the same company! Angela did a great job listening to every little detail of what was important to us as well. (silly things like where to put the dog bowl, were met with the same importance as the kitchen island or bathroom fixtures) Everyone, from the owner Rebecca, our designer Angela and their office manager/coordinator, Leah went above and beyond to make us feel special. They were so warm and friendly, that is truly what make this experience fun for us. I HIGHLY recommend working with this company, and knowing you are supporting a small local business of exceptional people is an added bonus! read more

Had Rebecca and Rachel out to do a sketch/floor plan for a bathroom remodel. Cannot express enough how happy we are with the service Seriously Happy Homes provided for us!!! read more

Our entire experience was fantastic from start to finish! Angela was amazing and I highly recommend her.

I found Happy Starts at Home after a Google search for design services for our home. I didn't require a full-service design package, just someone who could advise me on how to make my home feel and look cozier and more put together. After looking through the site - I thought I'd start with a Zoom Design Helpline session. Not knowing what could be accomplished with an online interior design consultation on Zoom, I decided to take the risk. I thought it'd be the easiest route in terms of time and ease. I submitted a form on the Happy Starts at Home "Design Helpline" page. I included a few details about what I hoped to gain from my session and heard back from their office manager, Kel, within 24 hours. I chose a timeslot for my Zoom session and was promptly sent an email about what I could expect during my session and some tips. I knew each second of the session would be precious time spent with an interior designer, so I created a plan in my head for how it would roll out. Upon meeting my designer Shannon- via Zoom- for our session, I gave her a Zoom tour of our home. (This was not required!) I walked around with my computer so she could survey the space and get a feel for the "vibe/theme" of our home. I also shared pictures from Pinterest of rooms that I loved. After that, we focused on the first room I needed advice for - the living room. I had photos of the entire room ready, so I could screen share quickly with Shannon. As I showed her the images, I told her what I liked and did not like and what recommendations she had. She used a hot pink pen to mark areas/ideas right on the screen. After 30 minutes, Shannon had worked her special magic and gave me a fresh new perspective on furniture layout, rugs, and table colors/shapes. She suggested a piece of art (that is relatively inexpensive and has since been ordered) that I would never have found in a million years. Still, it is exquisite and works perfectly with the accent wall color we currently have. Shannon did not push buying all new pieces for the living room but suggested keeping what we already have, just moving some things around and making minor tweaks. Her advice will have saved us thousands of dollars (a new couch is not in our price range right now)! However, if we had needed advice on more significant furniture ideas, she would have come up with something! Then we moved to another room, where Shannon advised on paint colors, rugs, and layout space. Even simple fixes such as repositioning a hanging plant or two at different lengths or moving a table from X to Y have made all the difference. You can work with Shannon at your pace. I knew exactly what I wanted advice on, so I led the meeting while Shannon offered her ideas and suggestions. I tried to use as much of Shannon's design expertise in the hour that I had with her, so I kept the pace going, and she rolled along with whatever I needed and answered my design questions. I loved meeting with Shannon so much that I booked a second session with her to go over two additional rooms in our house. I love how Shannon pulls ideas up online for quick and easy suggestions for art, rugs, tables, etc. Honestly, the process has saved me SO much time and money. All the precious time I would have spent pondering art design, layout, furniture, etc., is now being put into the process of making easy fixes and adjustments and ordering a few things to complete the looks of the rooms. Our home has never looked so good - it is all coming together! Thank you, Shannon! read more

My third (or maybe fourth) time working with Rebecca and her team. I have actually worked with more designers than I care to admit over the years and I love her for (1) her amazing ability to see what I am going for with some shared pictures (2) her decisiveness - oh, man, this is exactly what I need help with and she is really always spot on, (3) the to-do list I am supplied with at the end of the sessions. My current session is in multiple parts as we are doing something a little bit more complicated now, and I love that she is up for making the room just work. The den, basement remodel, master bedroom, powder room she has done with me have all been unique and so lovely and yet wonderfully livable - so excited to try something a little eccentric in the living room and I cannot wait to see the result! Thank you all for your help! read more

Worked with Rebecca to come up with a color scheme for a craftsman home we recently purchased. It was one color throughout, walls and ceilings. We wanted more punch and a pleasing transition between areas of the house, and a good match with our furnishings. We had an in home consultation with Rebecca and came up with several colors we liked. Her process for leading us through this included some homework - reviewing home pictures on Houzz. This was helpful. She was very attentive to our likes / dislikes while pointing out good design practices. She got us through a lot in a short period by her organized methodology. And she was energetic and cheerful. We had some followup questions and she responded thoroughly and promptly. read more

I wanted to change a rarely used, single-purpose guest bedroom into a meditation/yoga room that could double as a guest room when needed. I had some ideas in mind but just couldn't seem to pull it all together. Enter Rebecca West. She is so amazing with color and interior design. She helped me pick out paint colors I would never have chosen myself because I am so conservative and blah when it comes to wall colors. My room is now a soothing oasis of warm and rich grays. During our first couple of meetings, Rebecca asked a lot of questions about the look and feel I was seeking for my 'zen den'. She listened to my wishes, needs, concerns, apprehensions. When she came up with the design for the room, I was absolutely delighted! She really captured the essence of what I was seeking but would never have been able to produce myself. She was also always mindful of my budget when selecting items for the room. Rebecca was punctual for every meeting, very presentable and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend her to my closest of friends. Now I need to start saving for my next makeover project with her! read more

Worked with Rebecca on colors for our old craftsman dining room. We went from an ancient dark blue flowered wallpaper which was classy in the day to a new white and sage green combo that blends seamlessly with adjoining rooms. So attractive!! It's a joy to us every day and Rebecca was a joy to work with. Thank you! read more

Oh. My. Gosh. Rebecca frickin' rocks! I work with people about money - including clearing out emotional and mindset blocks. But in ONE SESSION Rebecca helped me clear out some old stuff that I hadn't even realized was there, and changed my space forever. We were talking about how I don't like being in my apartment, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money re-doing it because I'd like to move. As we talked I realized that the large couch in my space was from an old relationship and no longer served me. I had a lot of memories that came up when I walked in the space, but it was really subtle. I was shocked I hadn't thought of it, but it's hard to see our own blocks sometimes! I replaced the couch within a week, and moved a few other things around. Even my daughter could feel a difference - she started sitting with us on the couch, which she would NEVER DO BEFORE. She always sat on the floor. I know it sounds like a small thing, but that's what's so great about working with Rebecca - you don't have to make big changes to make a huge difference. She gets to the heart of things and knows her stuff! I will definitely work with her again! read more

I recently invited Rivalee Design to assist me with my hopeless apartment. I have always loved this space, but my vision just never quite comes together in a cohesive, effective and attractive way. Rebecca listened to my needs from each space, considered my budget and really put some thought into my personal taste/ lifestyle to create a strategy with a timeline and a beautiful end result. I am so happy I finally called in a professional and have a space I am proud to share with others. Thanks Rebecca, I am in awe of your ability! read more

Wish I can give Rebecca six stars!!!! No need to compare or get comparable quotes. She is the best! Rebecca and I worked on my Alki condo's living area and kitchen. She picked up on my style immediately. We selected new kitchen paint, coffee and end tables, lighting fixture for the hallway, rug for the main seating area, etc. After the first 90 minute Q/A session, I knew she was the right fit - so one month later I signed up for a double q/a session. Hire her. You will be ecstatic with the results. read more

We scheduled two sessions with Rebecca. In the first one we selected the color palette for our whole house. When we started, she asked what were the concepts we were after, I said: 'open, bright, elegant'. After we had painted the house a friend came and described the house in those terms without me mentioning them! Rebecca also gave us input in the type of baseboards, doors, window treatments (she helped us select the specific swatches), and decorations around the house, as well as in the design of some built in cabinets and shelves. The house looks lovely, and I would be happy to work with Rebecca again. read more

We had never worked with an interior designer before and I was leery of someone trying to sell us a "look" that maybe wasn't our style. We don't have a huge budget and were just looking to update our space a little. The 90-minute Quick Action Session seemed like a good way to dip our toe into the water as it were. Rebecca was amazing! It was like your friend with the really good taste coming into your home and giving you some great ideas how to spruce up your space. Her advice was practical and insightful, and she really does take into consideration your style and needs. She gave us some validation of the things that were right about our space and some creative advice to make it even better. Reading her book before her visit made it even more productive. I can't say enough how pleasant and wonderful she was to work with. Now I'm off to buy the couch of my dreams! read more

Schedule seems to be far too busy to actually work with customers on projects. I would not recommend them.

We had the 90-minute session with Valerie, one of the Junior Designers -- and she was wonderful! We highly recommend her and Seriously Happy Homes. Valerie's communication was top-notch in setting up the appointment and afterwards. She gave us great advice on the few problematic elements of our home that my hubby and I couldn't quite figure out a solution to. The only negative thing I can say is that I was instructed to use Houzz.com and signed up for it, made the "lookbooks" I was supposed to make, but then they never got looked at. I had forgotten about it, so that's partly my fault, but I also don't see why it was necessary. Anyways, the experience, on the whole, was awesome and rewarding! Definitely a great choice if you only have a few points in your home where you want guidance. read more

During COVD-19 I did a virtual 30 minute session for an area of our home that I have been wanting to address. After thirty minutes I walked away with a clear idea for the room, a confirmation on the look I wanted to create and links to go and purchase the items for the room. It was just what I needed to help me along in the process of moving towards my vision. These sessions are jam packed and will exceed your expectations! read more

We wanted to remodel our 20 yr house to be more comfortable and adapting to our changing lifestyle, yet minimalist in design. We were not quite ready to start the project as we did not know where and how to start. We uploaded pictures of the interiors and shared our ideas. Angela was prepared for a short 30 min online meeting session. She unblocked our thinking and without being prescriptive gave us options as well as ideas to think beyond the standard designs one sees in brochures and Pinterest. She also recommended good quality sources for searching furniture and decor that would suit our taste and be good quality. Angela was on time for our online meeting, ready to address any and all questions and very knowledgeable. After a bad experience with another design agency, Seriously happy homes was a satisfying and productive experience. We would work with Angela again when we are ready with more details. read more

We've never worked with an interior designer before but were having difficulties figuring out how to best arrange the furniture in the smaller living room of our new house. We ended up working with Sarah, a junior designer, and we couldn't have been happier. Sarah was so quick and competent to assess our issues and make recommendations, pulling together images from various sites and putting together what our future living room could look like. We only had a 90 minute assessment but I told her at the end that we could not have arrived at what she had designed in over 10 years of living in the house. We're so happy with the whole experience and look forward to working more with Sarah and Seriously Happy Homes in the future. read more
