My friends love color, and the designers worked with them to take out a couple of walls, merge the dining area, and turn a closed L-shaped kitchen into an open festive space with yards of counter space, walls of cabinets, and easy seating for twelve! Did my friends love working with Seriously Happy Homes? Totally! Do they love the result? Absolutely!

She is patient and kind as she walks you through the design process and answers your (inevitable) many questions each step of the way. We worked with her to redesign three spaces in our home: our kitchen, and two bathrooms. With each space, she found ways to approach them in new and practical ways when we felt otherwise overwhelmed. She guided us through choosing stunning finishes, and we received so many compliments from contractors and friends alike along the way. We had never done a remodel - and now, being on the other end of the process, we don't know where we would have been had we not had her detailed designs to guide us all along the way. Whenever questions arose, it was invaluable to have something so concrete to refer to, and we can't recommend this approach enough for anyone considering a remodel.

This review is for their new interiors shop only!…read more I stopped in during their opening weekend for the new shop/space on 15th. It's a big space, feels spacious inside and so well decorated. They have a studio space upstairs and a display room + shop downstairs. They have a smaller selection, but great to see options that are from a local small business vs. a big box store. Price ranges are anywhere from $500+ for small furniture pieces and up. Home decor and accessories like candles, frames and art are reasonable, boutique pricing as expected. Love that they have a parking lot as well. I'll definitely keep them in mind for when I'm ready to do some true interior designing.

It's a beautifully-decorated shop, and the customer service lady (I didn't get her name) was super friendly and very welcoming to my husband and I. We didn't need any interior design services at this time, but we had an uplifting browse, and we bought a couple of nice-smelling candles, along with a wick-trimmer. Stopping in to this lovely little shop made our day better. I see here on the yelp page for this business that this business was established in 2014, however, when I asked the customer service lady when they'd opened, she told me that they'd opened in February of this year! I thought that was gutsy because I hadn't known this business existed before today, so I got the mistaken impression that the business was brand new. Perhaps she meant that this particular location opened in February 2021. In any case, I wish them all the luck, and I thank them for bringing a cheerful and uplifting experience to my day today! I would definitely go back if I was in the area.

After a few days I realized I was dissatisfied with the firmness of the cushions and they took it back and redid it for me free of charge. I chose this shop because of its excellent reputation and I was not at all disappointed. They're good people and they do good work.

I contacted a few upholstery places by email with my contact information, cushion dimensions and 3 pictures of my chairs. Most didn't even bother to reply to me while others took as long as a week. Joslin Upholstery & Interior contacted me within a day with a quote. When I took my chairs in the service was great! Jack, Pam, and Carol are all friendly, professional, and patient. The selection of fabric can be overwhelming so be prepared to spend hours digging through fabric sample books. I took home a few sample books and spent a week deciding with my wife. Once you decide on the fabric be sure to have your checkbook as a deposit is required before work begins. Three weeks later I went back to pick up my chairs and was amazed. To say that the craftsmanship is top notch is no exaggeration. It's difficult to put into words but everything about the work done screams quality. Now my store bought sofa that lives with these chairs seems horrible in comparison. If you need re upholstery work done do not hesitate to use Joslin's services.

Emily comes at design from the perspective of an artist trained in colors. I hired her 15 years ago to select colors for the interior of an older Scandinavian-style home that had always had off-white walls. She spent a great deal of time looking at my favorite paintings, furniture, and exterior landscaping before proposing a basic color for my environment. She then offered me options for other colors for other rooms, plus a trim and ceiling color that would work throughout the house. I had my interior painted in the colors (and paint brand) she recommended. It's not only beautiful, but it has also maintained its classic look over the years. This year (2022) I had Emily back to do exterior colors for my home. She listened carefully to my requests--I wanted to stick with gray with white trim. She then proposed a far more pleasant gray, a subtly richer white, and a sharper, more distinctive accent color for the doors. It's wow! Her work takes the house from bland and generic to striking. Emily is very focused in her work, and her intense style is not for everyone. She is also unwilling to work around pets. You'll have to decide if you are willing to accommodate her approach. My take on it is that the end products (her expert, thoughtful color recommendations) have taken me out of a play-it-safe, generic approach and into a distinctive style that has added vastly to the value of my home. I enjoy the collaborative color selection process. If you are comfortable with her work style, I believe you'll get a lot of value.
