I am a man of simple tastes, and this is what this place serves up. It is nice and simple and its tasty enough at a decent enough price. I have went here on a number of occassions with my friends Conor and Bernie and we have never failed to have a good time. The last time we went we all went for bugers and chips, as well as getting a bucket of corona between us allow us to get nice and socially lubricated/a bit hammered. The service was excellent all night, the girls who served us didn't even seem to mind that we tried to flirt with them everytime they brought us something. It can't of been much fun for them to be honest, the more drunk we got the more flirty we got which I can only imagine was a complete mess. They didn't even shout at us when Conor spilt a beer. Top service and a fun place to grab a bite to eat. Other reviewers have complained about the prices but I think they're fine. Well worth checking out if you want some uncomplicated food.

Ah, Springsteen's. I was on my precious one-hour break from work of an evening, on my travels. I was going to one of my usual haunts on Botanic Avenue but was enticed by an advertising sign outside said restaurant, and thought I'd give it a bash. I can't fault the service in any way, the folks that took care of me were great. But... I'm pretty confident that I was fleeced. I paid far too much for a chicken breast which was meant to have a chorizo cream sauce (I LOVE chorizo). You know that horrible, processed, sliced and packaged stuff you get in Tescos? The best thing about this place is the painting of Superman on the wall. Won't be back.

I'm sorry to those Springsteens fanatics (I do actually know two) who would rather receive a voucher for here instead of an xbox or a laptop or George Clooney but I just don't get it. The food is waaayyyy over-priced and it's just fine. My girlfriend and I were full after it but we're also full after 10 pints and I know which one I would rather have. The ribs in fairness to them were grand and they have tried particularly hard to get that '60s-Grease-type vibe going on, but it just seems like a knock-off version of a Hard Rock Cafe. It's fine if you love it but really? I always imagined an American diner to be better. Perhaps movies have lied to us.

It's pretty hidden in the alley and not going to lie...coming to a new city, let alone a new country by myself was a bit intimidating, but I found it just in time for my reservation. I absolutely loved my first Michelin Star restaurant experience. I was born in Belfast, and have never been back since I was born, so I enjoyed every opportunity to tell a server. The staff was so friendly and described every dish. I ordered the Seasonal Tasting MenuEach dish was excellent. My favorite was probably the duck and the savory mousse pastries. Food in order of serving: 1. Sourdough Guinness bread with vanilla butter and olive oil 2. Olive sponge crab and apple, chicken and caramel with some type of mousse 3. Scallops, cucumber frothy brown butter 4. Bluefin tuna tartare with avocado and heirloom tomato 5. Halibut with crispy chicken skin 6. Duck 7. Sorbet and then....my phone died before I could write down the other yummy dishes I ate! The ambience was dark, romantic, and vibey. A little mysterious because of the hidden aspect, but overall I loved my whole experience here.

The space itself has a very long and interesting history, just over 40 seats have been cramped into that space. A couple tables have small glass walls to separate them and squeeze in more diners. And it's pretty loud. So loud, I can barely hear the sommelier describe her wines. There may have been music playing... but who can hear? There seems to be an attempt to elevate the bartender over the sommelier, with the menu encouraging the guests to try specialty cocktails instead of selecting whole bottles of wine. And the bartender's constant ice shaker only adds to the noise. The service is very relaxed, with servers in t-shirts and jeans, sneakers, paper napkins. And the servers seemed a bit inattentive, watching the chefs through the pass, not paying attention to guests' needs. Oh, and the server even wrote "thank you" on the printed bill... How kind. Excellent Flair. Pure Chotchkie's. For the food, I'll return. 2025 04 16. M1. 235.

One of only a few in Ireland ER's is already proving to be a big hit on the Lisburn Road. Yesterday when I paid a visit it was absolutely jam packed. But the pin striped, attentive staff managed to deal with the hoards of burger lover admirably. The whole restaurant follows the USA diner theme, red tiles, bold brash posters with American slogans and red leather booths. Right down to even the tiniest details this place is perfect - they have mini duke boxes (50's style) where you can pay 20p for your choice of song. Right on to the important bit, the food. The menu is full of tempting delights but I went for the Smokestack burger upon a recommendation. I have to say I was not disappointed! The Burger bun was soft and fluffy, the burger was meaty and the extras combination were sublime. The best part of the burger was definitely the 'secret' sauce - sort of like a vinegary mayo. I'm underselling it with that description. Burgers will set you back £6.45 but they are not small and you certainly won't be hungry after eating them. I loved Eddie Rocket's - the only tiny thing I would mention is that it took a while for us to get our food which made us rush eating it. I will put this down to how busy it was. The place certainly isn't understaffed. Top marks from me - there's so much on the menu to sample that I will have to make a trip back soon!

When you enter Eddies you can see that it is just like stepping into a real American diner and a great touch is that there is a juke box at every table. The food is great also. I loved the food so much that I went back for seconds the next day and I can davey say that I will be back again.

I was curious as to the addition of the word express but figured it just meant they got the food out in good time. No, they would like you out in good time! You do feel a bit rushed in here, not rudely so in any way though, the staff are great. I guess with such a high turnover at lunchtime they need to get the tables cleared and filled quickly through it. The food was just as good as the Botanic restaurant and I went for the Ulster fry-for comparison- and really couldn't fault it! They do all the usual stuff like Panini's, soup and sandwiches and even a bit of stew in the winter. It is a good place to go if you have kids as it caters for them well. I would suggest however to try and go any time before or after the lunch rush during the weeks, and before or after 12-2pm on a Saturday as you will simply not get a table it gets so busy. The staff are a little bit sharp at times and upon occasion you may feel yourself being a little rushed, however on the hole they are ok. If you ever do manage to get here, I would advise getting yourself some of their chocolate cake, which is very good.

Fighting our way through the crowd of smokers at the door, we walked in to find the place nearly empty, a nice young bloke showed us to our booth, just big enough to seat the four of us, the decor is a bit odd, a few phones on the walls, and some old posters, a bit like an 80's student bedroom but quite agreeable. The missus went for her usual chicken fillet burger with chips, her mate went for the cajun chicken, her friends beau had the gammon and I had the chicken curry. The missus loved her burger, she's pretty fussy and wouldn't be behind the door in expressing her displeasure but she liked her burger immensely, it was accompanied by a huge amount of gorgeous chips which she had no mission of finishing, her mate's cajun chicken wasn't bad, although the sauce seemed to be a little "Uncle Bens" Didn't stop her finishing it though! The gammon was fine, if a wee bit overdone, once more served with a mountain of the wonderful chips, but the curry was a bit watery, good rice though and some chips, but it went down easy enough and didn't break the bank. We all had coke, but we were told that if we went to the offy, we were more than welcome to bring in our own drink. All in all, I can see us coming back, it was a good start to the night.

It has a number of separate dining options, including Rush (juice and smoothie bar), New York Deli, Costa Coffee, sandwich bars etc...very la-de-da! It still maintains that canteen style feel (yes, I know diner doesn't actually refer to that sort of thing, but it was the closest label I could find), and you would definitely know you were in a student restaurant, but it has been greatly improved. Yep, Cloisters has definitely gone up in the world since its humble beginnings, and is now a much more affordable and varied eaterie option for all Queen's students.
