AVOID: I purchased a used home in summer of 2024. Over the winter we started having issues with…read moreour furnace - mostly just cutting off. I called out an HVAC company to investigate. They discovered that the incorrect diameter of exhaust pipe was installed. 2" pipe was installed and the manufacturer clearly required 3" pipe based on the length of the exhaust run - per the install manual. This manifested with my furnance not being able to push out the exhaust and it would cut off to prevent furnace damage. The HVAC technician recommended I contact the original installer which was A&Z. I called A&Z and spoke to Zahn and he said he would call the HVAC tech I had over and get back to me. Zahn never got back to me. I followed up with phone calls and left messages with A&Z's secretary/scheduluer? on three different occassions over the next couple of weeks. No calls were ever returned. I posted this review on Google and within 24 hours A&Z posted a response stating that they called me back but could not get a hold of me. Further they stated that Zahn talked to the technician that identified the problem with my exhaust and that they both agreed the exhaust diameter was not the problem. I do not believe they actually called back and instead are trying to save face due to my review. If only A&Z could have showed the same commitment to communicating with me that they did to countering my Google review this 1 star review could have been a 5 star review. Additionally, I spoke with the original technician who discovered the problem. He stated that he spoke with Zahn about the problem but did not agree with what A&Z has posted about the exhaust not being the problem. From his vantage point the exhaust was the most likely culprit. I had this other technician swap out the 2" for 3" pipe. Upon install he noticed that the exterior stucco was cut for 3" pipe but only 2" was installed. That tells me that A&Z meant to install 3" as required per the install manual but perhaps mistakenly ordered 2" pipe and got to the job site and just rolled with it? Either way, I wouldn't trust them. I would avoid this company because in my case they completed a furnace install against the manufacturer's recommendations (incompetence). Whether that was done recently or years ago, the install is not in line with manufacturer's standards. A good company would at least investigate - this one just blew me off. Additionally, their communication skills and willingness to stand behind their work leaves a lot to be desired. AVOID A&Z!!!

I couldn't clean all my ducts (something I knew going in) because they can only clean ducts with openings greater than 4". But they hit my returns which is most important (interesting fact but the EPA is rather neutral if duct cleaning is even beneficial). The guys were nice enough just sen seemed like amateurs. Here's my issues: - After they left I found an old Q-tip in one of the vent openings. This makes me question how thorough the cleaning was let alone their attention to detail. - They left two return covers off. Granted they don't go on well but still... at least mention it. - I had a cracked tile under one of my vents. I knew this but they took the piece with them so now I can't glue it back.

The furnace is only about 2 yrs old and under manufacturer warranty. Ideally, the repair should have gone through the builder's HVAC contractor or original installer, but our tenant's call appears to have been redirected through subcontractors and given the holiday weekend, Done Right HVAC was the only company willing to come out. Even so, the repair was not completed the same day. The technician inspected the unit on Saturday without the required Carrier gas valve and returned on Monday to complete the repair. An unauthorized furnace tune up was performed and included in the $875 service charge, and a $26 credit card processing fee was added without prior disclosure. The initial invoice was not itemized, just a vague lump sum charge and the total $901 was paid by the tenant before any clear discussion of warranty handling or limitations. Given the holiday timing and absence of clear upfront disclosures, the charges and overall process felt disproportionate to the scope of work performed After the repair, I attempted to pursue a manufacturer warranty claim and learned that Done Right HVAC was unable to support or process warranty submissions through the Carrier distributor. The technician later stated he did not know how the warranty process worked and that the old gas valve (required for warranty claims) was no longer available, which blocked reimbursement Carrier ultimately reimbursed $250 as a goodwill concession, but over $600 had to be written off, which really should not have been the case and turned out to be an expensive lesson for us.
