A few changes since the last time I was at this winery. First off - NEW OWNERS! The previous owner had passed away and his wife sold the property and winery. They were lovely people and based on my recent visit, sold to lovely people. Onto the wines - I believe it was $8 for 6 wines. I had a hard time narrowing down their choices to just 6 as everything sounded so good. The Vidal blanc was the first wine the new owners had completed from start to finish and it was absolutely lovely. They had a delicious selection of dry reds as well. The Kentucky roots was my favorite in this section. The cab was smooth as well. We ended up sitting on their patio and had several bottles of the summer nights. We all had a hard time picking out wines to take home. Needless to say, we will be coming back as the future seems bright for this family and the winery. read more

What a beautiful winery!! We were already in Bardstown and wanted to check out some nearby wineries, so to Springhill we went. The first thing I noticed was how pretty this little area is, and how random of a spot it's in also (Right off the highway.) Apparently this place is also a bed and breakfast, which describes its beauty. This is a great one to go to for you picky wine lovers. While I am not, I do enjoy getting to try a different variety of flavors. They have an extensive list to choose from ranging dry to sweet. I can't remember the woman's name who was running the counter, but she was so sweet and talked to us our entire visit! She was also very knowledgeable about each wine. They also have the cuuuutest merchandise here! Magnets, shirts, hats, candles - and tons of hilarious quotes on them. The tasting was either 6 or $7, honestly can't remember, but we got to enjoy quite a few wines where she gave us a generous amount of. I would absolutely come back in a heartbeat! read more

We have stayed in multiple B&B's, so we were excited about this stay.The website and previous reviews were deceiving. We booked our reservation about 6 months in advance and felt unwelcome from the first step in the door. We were immediately reminded that we were about to miss our wine tasting. We dropped our bags and went out to the tasting room. First thing we were greeted with was that they expected us 4 hours earlier than our arrival ; again trip booked 6 months prior, and received a lecture about this. No confirmation text or email prior to arriving or what to even expect when we got there. They could have a good thing there, with no other winery's around a wine lover would be excited to stay here. However, very disappointed in the wine. Sediment galore; and had to force myself to chug the last of the samples. Cabernet and Chardonnay are my favorite wines, I have no idea where they went wrong in their process but $2 bottom shelf wine is better. We opted for dinner and drinks in Bardstown and when we returned quickly went to bed. #1 saggy uncomfortable mattress, no airflow or fans in the room and not to mention a thrown together in room shower and toilet. Let alone one packet (1oz) shampoo/conditioner for 2 people.It's an old house but execution was poor. Breakfast was good but was again lectured about not eating our "sweet treat" that we had no idea about given the lack of instruction and information upon arrival. So we had apple cobbler and ice cream before breakfast. Bottom line: bad wine, unwelcome stay, bad mattress= poor sleep, old/dirty house and overpriced for the value. read more

Springhill Plantation, we stayed here in the Bed and Breakfast. This was recommended to us and it didn't disappoint. June and Jeff have a great thing here and we so appreciated their hospitality. The house and rooms are beautiful and wonderfully decorated. It's minutes away from Bardstown close to distilleries and wineries. It's run as a family business and they made us feel at home and we already look forward to going back. There is a small winery on property. They care for the vineyard and there is a tasting room. read more

I love this winery. The minute we walked in, the staff was friendly and helpful. We did the wine tastings. I did the premier and sweet tastings. $2.50 for 6 tastings or 3 for $1.50. My favorites are Vidal Blanc and Cabernet Franc. Which I purchased. Excellent service. Also had a bed and breakfast which is 157 years old. Please visit this place. My husband and I stayed at the Springhill Plantation Bed and Breakfast two nights on our way to KC. As soon as you enter this beautiful house you feel like you are visiting family. From the breakfast to the evening goodies, June and Jeff go out their way to make sure you enjoy you time as their guests. I wanted to love this place. It was right off of interstate 65, on our way to Nashville. The small tasting room building was behind the bed and breakfast and my review is only based on my tasting experience. The lady working knew absolutely nothing I asked her like how far were the other wineries around, what's the difference between two similar named wines. I would suggest that the owner require her to study up on her down time. We were the only ones there and probably the only ones visiting for hours. Also, all of the wines for tasting were chilled, even the dry reds, I've never experienced that before. I guess they do that to keep the opened bottles lasting longer. I think that the $5 for the mediocre tasting was over priced. I would've skipped this place if I would've known then what I know now. read more

Super cute little winery. We were able to sample about 10 wines (don't judge) and all of them were better than I expected. Prices range per bottle from $5- $20 with a wide variety of reds and whites to choose from. If you're on the bourbon trail, take a little detour and swing by this place, you won't regret it. read more

Stayed here back in 2012 for our Anniversary. The couple that run the establishment were the nicest people. They offered for us to stay agin during Christmas bc we lived far from family. I would recommend to anyone. Also the place is hunted I swear! Enjoy!!! read more

Loved it here. A friend and I stopped by, each got a tasting, and naturally sampled different wines so we could try each other's (is there any other way to do a tasting??) So, having sipped 12 samples in all, I can definitely say the selection is good. Five of the wines were "Gone With the Wind"-themed, which I loved. They all tasted delicious - especially the Prissy and Sweet Rhett! The woman serving us was very kind and helpful, offering us cheese, crackers, and brownies that were left over from a previous event. I wound up buying four of the GWTW themed wines, as they give you 10% off when you do that! In addition to the wines, the atmosphere is nice (I'd love to stay at the B&B sometime!) and the gift shop had items that would make great host/hostess gifts or home decor items. Definitely a great place to stop when you're on the parkway! read more

I hate to give any winery, especially a Kentucky winery, two stars. But, Springhill has a long way to go to match some of the many other wineries we've visited. They have a nice gift shop/tasting room right next to an old southern mansion which they use as a Bed N Breakfast. When we walked into the shop we were not even acknowledged by the girl behind the counter. We had to walk up and ask how their tasting worked. She said, it's 3 selections for $1.50 or 6 for $3.00. It seemed reasonable so we sat down and selected 3. At most wineries we've been to we're offered a generous serving of selections. Well, to our amazement the first pour was not even an ounce. The second pour was not as much as the first and she didn't even offer to rinse the glass first. By the third pour, again just a swig, I knew this winery was off my list for good. So I asked why do you only offer such a small sample and she said that's just what we serve. Oh, and she also served us a small basket of oyster crackers that were stale. Too bad, we might have returned and even stayed a night or two in the B & B. read more

Springhill winery is a wonderful place to visit. They have great wines and a large selection. I love their merlot and the e port is delicious. ( I wanted to taste them all but the girl behind the counter told me there is some ABC rule about only serving 6 ounces per tasting). I guess that means we will have to come back! The atmosphere was so welcoming, the girl behind the counter was so nice and very knowledgable about the wines. She even told some stories about the old house which is a bed and breakfast.....sounds like a perfect place for a girls weekend! read more

We stopped by Springhill Winery while around Bardstown for a day. The woman doing the tastings was very nice and was able to provide general information about the various wines we were tasting. We then bought glasses of wine that we took outside to the nice grounds surrounding the tasting room that overlooked the vineyards. I went to KY for the bourbon trail experience and stayed one night in the Springhill Winery Plantation B&B. I didn't expect much, since this was not the main point of interest of my trip, but i was pleasantly surprised. I paid for one night stay, which included few hours of wine tasting. The lady behind the counter was super nice and friendly. She couldn't wait for us to finish the glass of wine just to pour the next one for us to taste and compare. I must have tried at least 7-8 different kinds. Definitely that place is not stingy! I love their wine especially the sweet ones and i bought several bottles, even though I am not a big wine drinker! the place was neat and room was nice. Since the place is located right off the highway, I was worried about road noise and inability to sleep but I was surprised how quite it was. We had a room with bathroom, which was plus, but it was little awkwardly designed with pretty much no privacy. Literally it felt like you are taking a shower and such in an open space of your room. there were only narrow wall dividers on each side to partially cover toilet and the shower. No doors to separate bedroom and bathroom? strange! I guess it beats using the shared bathroom with other guests. The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. The owners were not home but the lady who was in charge was very friendly, fun and talkative. I definitely had a nice and relaxing stay and would return again for a day. read more
