What a beautiful winery!! We were already in Bardstown and wanted to check out some nearby wineries, so to Springhill we went. The first thing I noticed was how pretty this little area is, and how random of a spot it's in also (Right off the highway.) Apparently this place is also a bed and breakfast, which describes its beauty. This is a great one to go to for you picky wine lovers. While I am not, I do enjoy getting to try a different variety of flavors. They have an extensive list to choose from ranging dry to sweet. I can't remember the woman's name who was running the counter, but she was so sweet and talked to us our entire visit! She was also very knowledgeable about each wine. They also have the cuuuutest merchandise here! Magnets, shirts, hats, candles - and tons of hilarious quotes on them. The tasting was either 6 or $7, honestly can't remember, but we got to enjoy quite a few wines where she gave us a generous amount of. I would absolutely come back in a heartbeat!

I was able to score a visit recently on Derby Week, and that will be one of the highlights of Derby Week this year for me. We arrived shortly before our reservation time after hearing that our table was ready. I was seated at the bar, to be joined by my good friend a few minutes later. The cocktail menu sounded intriguing, and I started with an Oopsie Daisy and she sprung for Fighting Words. As we sipped our drinks, we perused the menu and decided on an array of mezze as our meal that night. Crispy cauliflower arrived first, followed shortly by tuna tartare, then whipped labneh and spring pea hummus. They even provided a gluten free pita option for the gluten sensitive in our party. Out of our choices, the cauliflower and the spring pea hummus were my favorites, although everything was very good. Throughout our meal, the staff was attentive and kept our waters full, cleared plates as appropriate, and made sure we didn't need anything else during our visit. Worth every one of its 5 stars, I think you'll enjoy Meesh Meesh just as much when you go, too!

MeeshMeesh Mediterranean…read more We had the most lovely night at MeeshMeesh tucked right into the heart of NuLu. From the second we walked in, it felt warm and welcoming, like being invited into someone's home for dinner. The space is intimate without feeling cramped, and we were lucky enough to grab a cozy window seat. It had that perfect hum of conversation where you feel the energy of the room but can still talk easily. Our waitstaff were incredible, thoughtful and genuinely kind in a way that made the whole night feel relaxed and personal. We started with an olive oil washed martini that was crisp, silky, and honestly just really good. A simple drink done beautifully. Then we decided to go all in and order the Shefa, Chef Noam's guided family style feast. You choose a main and then the kitchen takes you from there. Plates started arriving in waves and the table slowly filled with color and texture. The first taste included chamutzim pickles, fresh herbs and vegetables, matbucha, and labneh with za'atar. We added the tuna tartare, which was bright and fresh and such a nice contrast to the richness of the spreads. Everything invited you to tear into the warm pita and pass plates back and forth. The salatim followed with shawarma spiced chicken and crispy cauliflower, full of flavor but not heavy. It was the kind of food that makes you slow down because you don't want to miss anything. We shared a bottle of Chateau Musar Musar Jeune from Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, and it paired so beautifully with the warmth and spice of the meal. The star of the night was the lamb merguez with cucumber yogurt, dill, and pistachios, served alongside jeweled rice with pepitas and cranberry chutney. It was deeply spiced, comforting, and somehow both bold and cozy at the same time. It honestly felt like being wrapped in a hug. You could taste the care behind it. Dessert sealed it. Warm chocolate babka and coconut malabi with seasonal preserves. Sweet but balanced and the perfect way to end the evening. More than anything, what stood out was how personal the whole experience felt. Nothing about it felt trendy or forced. It felt rooted, intentional, and full of heart. You can sense there's a story and a family behind this food. If you're in Louisville, MeeshMeesh is truly special. Perfect for a celebration, a date night, or just a night where you want to sit at a table, share plates, and feel taken care of.

The person taking our order frustrated me, he seemed more interested in his phone and he didn't seem to want to help when he said the item I wanted from the menu was not available. Finally I just ordered salad and hummus with pita. But I didn't get any pita with it. I guess I should have checked before I left the place. So salad with no dressing that I could taste (and I don't like a lot but this was definitely lacking something) and couldn't eat the hummus yet until I go buy some bread. My family got chicken shawarma and lentil soup. It was mediocre. Kind of sad because I had high hopes for the place. It seems like it has potential with fresh ingredients and good menu options. The presentation of all the food was really good too. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day. I would try it again just to make sure because I loved the fresh ingredients and good presentation and it seemed like they had lots of repeat customers as we sat waiting for our order to be filled. All those things lead me to believe I may have caught them on an off day.

The falafel is delicious and all of these sandwich options are very affordable. The most underrated item is the fries (so crispy and I don't know what they do to make the flavor so nice). The lentil soup is something we always like to have as well. Their platters and other specials are good, but I'm fond of the shawarma sandwiches so much.

Should have ordered something else. BTW, they couldn't change a 100 dollar bill. That's a bad sign right there. Both bowls were terrible. Mine was chicken with sweet potatoes, greens and lentils. The sweet potatoes were browned to the point where they were hard as rocks. The greens didn't appear at all. And I asked for additional pita bread and was charged for it but didn't get it. And what I got was only 4 small pieces anyway (half a pita). They have a sauce on the menu called cilantro-lime, which I ordered. There was so much cayenne pepper in it, it was unedible and ruined anything it touched. A true Mediterranian cilantro-lime should not have ANY cayenne in it, especially if it's on a menu and has no "THIS IS HOT" markings by it. All in all, this was a big mistake on our part to stop in.
