The GM admits to breaking the law and charges for ALL animals. Service Animal or not! $75 fee!
    Matthew S.

The General Manager at this particular hotel OPENLY admits to charging for Service Animals! It doesn't matter if it's just a pet of SERVICE ANIMAL, they will charge you. My service animal is a Federally Registered and flys free and registrated with the FAA. This manager is ABOVE THE LAW! The manager says it states that on their hotel information. It does NOT! Because it is ILLEGAL to charge for an actual service animal. This apparently is an issue that happens a lot at this location as well! This manager NEVER spoke with me.....which means they had the same issue with another guest for the same night!!! This hotel is also disgusting and in SERIOUS need of a renovation! The carpet is a 1960's greenish look. Not to mention frayed as you walk into the bathroom. TRIP HAZARD especially since I'm disabled. This was also supposed to be a rewards stay for a FREE NIGHT to retain a loyal member. This place was EXTREMELY AWFUL. The one thing this place had correct was the breakfast. At a rate of $140 a night WITHOUT rewards for a weeknight rate for this place and then $12 on top for parking! PLEASE..... AVOID THIS PLACE! There are so many better!! This is literally the lowest of the low for Marriott standards!

DO NOT STAY HERE. under renovation and they do not tell you. It does not feel safe. The smell is unforgivable. It's dirty run down falling apart. Staff is not accommodating. We were super nice inquiring about other rooms and renovation and they new we weren't super happy. They received a package of ours and withheld it . We had to check 4xs before they gave it to us.

I hesitate giving any place a less than stellar review. However, I am pretty disgusted by the bathroom floor. So much so that I got extra towels to put down on the floor. Here are a few pictures. We found hair on the bathroom floor and on the heat register. This wasn't head hair either. The saving grace for this hotel was the customer service at the front desk. The staff was outstanding, overworked, and incredibly apologetic for the wait before helping us. I waited 10 minutes for extra towels.

I was here for a conference and the ballroom they kept us in was beautiful and the bartenders were friendly. The situation that truly made this hotel shine was a unique one. On my last night there, my colleagues and I were walking back from a bar around the corner. We are not familiar with the frozen bodies of water and decided to play with the ice on the pond in front of the hotel. After a few moments of tossing pieces of ice across the pond, one of my rings that is very sentimental to me flew off my finger and across the frozen pond. I was heartbroken and everyone told me there was nothing I could do and that it was a lost cause. The following morning, I told the front desk the situation. They told me they would call maintenance and see if there was anything they could do for me. That's when Rick came out to assess the situation. He was SO kind and understanding as he tried to come up with a solution. When he realized how far out the ring was, he decided to get one of the hotel engineers, Omar, involved. He came out and was every but as kind and pleasant as Rick had been. I had breakfast reservations I was cutting it close to and they told me to go ahead and go enjoy myself while I let them figure the situation out. Once I arrived back to the hotel, the same kind girl that checked me into the hotel was holding my ring beaming at me in excitement. I couldn't believe it!! I still don't know how they did it, but they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help me with a situation that had nothing to do with the hotel and they could have easily given up on. I am eternally grateful and will always stay here when in the area!!!

Otherwise this property is not taken care of at all. Lots of mold smell everywhere even in downstairs bathrooms. There is a mold smell that lingers especially in the room because the bathtub in room 413 has a constant leak. Also no fan in the bathroom. They tried to paint the grout and caulk over it bit it's still there. We went to del Frisco's one night and brought leftovers and they were completely spoiled overnight. The fridge in the room was not cold enough. The manager did give us a $45 gift card to the spotted donkey downstairs (which was really nice) but we still had to pay a little out of pocket for all 3 of us to have a breakfast meal. (Spotted donkey was really spicy and Mexican food) Reminder this is not Housekeepings fault. This is owner operator improvements that need to happen. There is no fan in the bathroom and the room temperature has a hard time getting warm and the fan on it is super loud. Please hire a mold specialist and renovate the rooms. We love the area and the hotel is beautiful do not let it get run down. This is not staff fault this is owner's fault.

Shower: The "rain" style shower head was mounted fairly high and worked well. The manufacturer of the "Nourish" brand shampoo trumpets high-end, luxury products, but goes to great lengths to hide the ingredients; it turns out that the shampoo contains SLS, which many people find drying and rash-inducing. Security: Like most hotels, Drury Plaza is situated in a "transitional space" which invites ne'er-do-wells. The outside is ringed with good lighting and cameras. Inside, the staff is very alert. While I was at the buffet, a non-guest wandered in; it took less than 30 seconds for a manager to redirect the interloper to the door, and numerous staff members materialized and cheerfully greeted everyone in the area (presumably to make sure that everyone belonged). Food: The "Evening Kick-Back" is a full meal. They rotate between three buffet-style menus, but there are enough extras to mix-and-match a wide variety of meals. At the height of a flu outbreak, I saw a lady cough into her hand then handle half a dozen serving utensils...everyone following her picked up a nice dose of virus. The conference room we've been using is always clean with coffee/tea and ice water available all day. The bar/eatery onsite called The Placery has a limited but yummy menu--during happy hour, I ordered the chicken tortilla soup today with a slice of NY cheesecake, and a glass of their Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine was particularly delicious--Patricia the bartender told me that this Canvas brand of wine is only available at Hyatt hotels though it's grown in Napa Valley. Intriguing! Patricia was also really nice to converse with, she's definitely a people person! The fitness room is open 24/7, with a decent selection of free weights, a cable column machine weight machine and various cardio machines. The indoor pool is open during the day. It feels about 85 degrees and comfortable with deck chairs and a shower. Coin operated washing machines and dryers for $2 each, and single load laundry detergent and dryer sheets available at the front desk ($9 total). Just behind the hotel are the easily accessible bike/pedestrian trails called the Big Dry Creek Trail. On top of it all, today it snowed outside! Just for a couple hours but it was a treat for a California girl like me. For a mid level reasonably priced hotel, this one exceeded my expectations! I'd happily come back given the opportunity.

I am a Marriott Bonvoy loyalty member and I've stayed in a number of Marriott hotels over the decades. This hotel lives up to the expectations within the price point to value ratio for this category of lodging. Our rooms were extremely clean and the staff was friendly. Our dinner meals from Tiller's were delicious. Sadly, the night we were there, the bartenders had to overwork and hustle due to a shortage of staff and a large business/leisure crowd: I stood for about 40 minutes waiting for my take out order and watched how stressed the bartenders were in meeting the demands but kept everything rolling. Our morning breakfasts tasted yummy and were quickly prepared with fewer customers. The chefs in this onsite restaurant are amazing!

My wife and I spend 30-40 nights a year in hotel rooms and have been Diamond Members for a while. This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I have encountered. We checked in late (10:40 PM) after a near 7 hour drive. The check in process went quickly. As we walked to the room, my boys and I immediately smelled cigarette smoke in the stairwell, hallway and in our room. Then, when I set up the sofa bed, we could find no sheets, pillows, or blankets for the pull out bed. When I went downstairs, the night desk attendant told me that housekeeping was closed. He was able to find a mattress cover and a blanket. He told me he would look for a pillow and bring one up to the room. I also noted the cigarette smoke and was told he had smelled it as well "but that there wasn't much he could do about it." I went back to the room. 40 minutes later I was asleep, having borrowed a pillow from my son's bed. In the morning, we discovered the shower had no soap or body wash. In addition, when you pulled up the lever for the tub spout diverter, 1/3 of the water squirted/leaked out of the side, causing the shower pressure to be light. Instead of a towel claw hanger on the back of the bathroom door, there was a knob and a screw (see picture). And the lock on the bathroom door did not work (not fun with 2 teenage boys in the room). When I reported the problems to the front desk that morning (a new woman) informed me that housekeeping and maintenance were not in and she couldn't do anything about those things right now. It was 7:15 AM, we were leaving for the soccer fields. They had just taken both containers of coffee from the station and informed me and others waiting it would be at least 15 minutes before more coffee was brewed (a cardinal sin for parents heading to early morning soccer games). We left and I stopped at Starbucks on the way. When we got back to the hotel at 1:30 PM, I informed the 3rd desk attendant about the problems and he said he would have housekeeping bring up some pillows. He handed me a handful of small body wash bottles and told me they no longer put them in the showers, that they had shampoo and conditioner but that "I had to ask for body wash". Five minutes later he brought pillows up to the room. Walking down the hallways, the light of day revealed just how dirty the hallways were, with dirt and dust meeting the walls by the carpets edge needing to be vacuumed. There were also cuts in the carpet and scratches/scrapes/wallpaper tears in the walls. Sunday morning my boys and I went downstairs for breakfast at 8:30 AM. The toast, bagel, muffin station was nearly empty. When we asked if they were going to put more out, we were told that they didn't usually restock so late. We have stayed in Hampton Inn's before and usually prioritize Hilton. The only thing similar about this place was the sheets on the boy's beds. Everything else from the soaps, to the decor, to the dinginess of the place screamed the facility had been converted from another hotel and the new owners had done as few renovations as possible. What bothered me the most, was the complete lack of customer service and any type of apology. I get that many places are understaffed. But, I haven't experienced such a lack of care or professionalism in many years of traveling for work, for elite traveling soccer league games and tournaments, or for family roadtrips and vacations. The only bright spot is that we were in late Friday night and out Sunday morning, and spent most of our time on the soccer fields and away from the hotel.

While the entrance was lovely even under construction, my desk clerk was delightful, BUT Back to the Travelocity issue, it was and huge ISSUE from the start and for the next coming weeks. Not the Hotel's fault!!! DoubleTree Hilton was perfect for I was severely under the weather, I am terribly allergic to the (Skunk) Pot weed people smoke these days and fell horribly ill, ergo being in the area I booked a TJoes, picked up some healthy food and checked in. Noticing my lovely check in lady was having difficulties, and when asking, she said she would get it straighten, no problem on my side. Service dog and I went to our Queen room, and crashed. Perfect size, nice bed, very comfortable, minor room temperature while facing West, the sun creates more heat ergo I turned the thermostat as low as possible. The downstairs construction did not add any noises, each Guest Agent were extremely polite, the elevators worked great, and the luggage carts were not too difficult to operate given I was severely under the weather; Yet a great place to recover over Christmas eve and day.
