It's an OK location. The hallways were a little warm and the room was average clean. There were a lot of people at my time of stay. I was on the first floor and I feel like the walls were paper thin I could hear doors closing people talking, but nothing that annoyed me to the point I wanted to move my room. Customer service was always attentive and at the desk. Breakfast options are available, but not something to get really full off of. The location is excellent right off the highway in many places available in the area. I felt somewhat safe. read more

I stayed the night before graduation. The staff was friendly and explained us everything with patience. The room was cleaned and very comfortable. Also, the design of the hall was very interesting. Solid hotel to stay at in the Gainesville area. Right off of 75 and across from Butler Plaza, it is a very convenient location, all while staying in a more quiet location away from the main road. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bed was supportive and the pillows were plush. All of the amenities that you need they have. I do wish the bathroom was modernized a little more, but overall, solid place to spend a night if you are in town :) read more

This is a nice, quiet and clean hotel. The bed was comfy and the air conditioning worked. The smart TV supports internet services like YouTube. What sets this place apart is the service. While you don't get room service any more, the ladies behind the desk are friendly and helpful. Tara was always ready to help, getting us items and quarters for the on-site laundry machines (which are only 1$). Even more so, the three ladies who run the free breakfast room are wonderful and sweet. Don't miss breakfast and please remember to tip them all! Out back there is a fenced in pond full of turtles. I didn't feed them because there is a sign saying don't feed the wildlife plus I was saving our packed food for our lunches and dinners. The turtles all swim over if you stand there so somebody must feed them! Life is good with friendly, southern, blessed service! read more

Stopped on our trip down to Fort Myers so just stayed one night after a long day of driving. Convenient location right off of I-75 and about 5 miles from downtown G-ville. The staff was friendly and helpful including the gal managing the breakfast bar. A rarity - I was actually able to get an upgraded room as a Gold member. The incredibly large suite was almost hilariously big (it is their "accessible" room). Though strangely the bathroom counter space was tiny. The bed was comfortable and the shower water pressure was very good though it was a tub not a shower in an "accessible" room??? Not an issue for us but just saying... The rate was one of the best we got for the nearly month we were in Florida. I would stay here again. read more

This is a review of the Marriott Springhill Suites for a stay that was supposed to be for 5 or 6 nights in May 2025. We were there for 3 days and not once did they mention that we were Marriott Bonvoy members. We checked out and moved hotels after 3 nights due to the items listed below. There are much better options in Gainesville. We were in Gainesville for a family event at UF, after the event I could not sleep on the bed one more night. The items listed below are not in any specific order, I wish someone had spent the time to share the items we experienced and it would have saved us some trouble. All I really expected from this stay was a bed with clean sheets, coffee and orange juice in the morning - we got none these with our stay at Springhill Suites in Gainesville. This hotel feels like the owner is trying to squeeze every single penny possible from the operation. - Upon arrival, the comforter did not appear clean. I called down to get a blanket. They did NOT have any king blankets, they found a Queen blanket that looked like it had tire marks on one side - but it smelled clean, so I decided to take the blanket. - I left the comforter downstairs with the front desk clerk. We ended up being charged for the nasty comforter, they actually thought we had stolen it AND the "plastic bag" - you cannot make this stuff up. We had to call the hotel several times to explain what happened. They changed our bill after we checked out. We had the names of the front desk employee that was on duty when we changed out the comforter. They had to verify with the employee, they did not believe us! - The bed was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept on - this is a VERY OLD mattress that was in the room. - NO Orange Juice in the morning, it was a very odd combination of cheap juice - sadly not what we expected. - The coffee was also unpleasant and not what we expected from a hospitality establishment - maybe a 7-11 in the middle of the night, but not a Marriott Hotel. - Several of the outlets in our room were not working. The outlet by the sink in the bathroom, 2 of the other outlets in the room were also nonfunctional. Maintenance came up and got 1 of the 3 outlets working, but the outlet in the bathroom could not be fixed. I could not dry my hair in front of the mirror. - The TV would not work, they came up for this as well. They did get the TV to turn on the next day with a new remote. - Sink in bathroom was clogged and would not drain. - Toilet was stained and was very unpleasant. - Mirror in room was streaked, or damaged in some way that prevented one from viewing clearly. - We could hear our neighbors talking in their room next door. - Homeless encampment below our window at the back of the hotel, we were on the 4th floor. You could hear the homeless people at night. - The floor at breakfast and the general condition of the hotel was poor. The attendant at breakfast was wonderful, but they need to get her some help during busy periods. The floor was sticky and the general aera was unkept. - No ice machines, expect on one floor. If you ask for Ice downstairs, they hand you zip lock baggie full of ice that was packaged by some unknown person. I don't think this is a practice that would hold up to any food safety guidelines! - Finally, the person we spoke to about the comforter charge was named Lily and she was not customer friendly in any manner. read more

Great staff other than the night auditor. The guy that starts after 11pm is horrible. He spoke to my kids as if they were trash and treated me as a second rate citizen. He sat behind the desk watching sports and certainly didn't want to be interrupted. This guys should not be any where near customer service. read more

This hotel was awesome! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. It is so nicely decorated for Christmas also! The rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast was great. The breakfast staff provides a great wake up experience. The fitness room is large and has enough equipment to get a solid workout in. The pool looks nice but it was not warm enough to get out in it this week. Overall I would rate this hotel as one of the top in the area. Good Day, good people! This review is long overdue, spent a week in Gainesville and this place held us down, I'll rate atmosphere, service and overall experience. This was a smooth check-in and the staff honestly were very friendly, they waved each time you would leave and enter. The room however when we arrived was hot that's because the AC wasn't working but the mechanic came in less than 5mins and fixed it quickly. It was a nice size room and the bed was comfortable. The free breakfast was standard, eggs, home fries, they switched the breakfast meats everyday, the gym was good for it served the purpose for what I needed to work out while away from home. Went in with high expectations since it holds "Marriott" currently going under renovations and I'm sure once it's done this location will be nice. My floor was still untouched and it was very noticeable. The room was muggy, the floor boards dirty and stained ( just seemed old). The bed sheets were on the harsh and old side (dingy as well). Water pressure is decent. Front desk was nice but the cleaning lady manager on the rude side. read more

Very Friendly staff and a great location. The rooms are suites and very nice, once I got in I threw my stuff everywhere so it's only a photo of the huge king bed. Staff upon entering was super delightful and they are remodeling the outside. They have the mini suites with fridge, microwave, and glassware- I love how they have a plate and fork,knife, spoon bundle.. it may sound weird to most, but if you travel for work maybe you'll appreciate it too lol. The proximity is super close to campus and you are right by a nice shopping outlet with Trader Joe's, Micheal's, Whole Foods, and actually shopping stores lol. I just tend to eat and craft a lot so I was happy about these 3 places. read more

Really nice on the outside and at first our room looked great BUT when I was in bathroom getting ready for my shower, I looked up and noticed the light fixture had maybe 30+ dead and alive bugs in it..creeped me out and I told my fiancé. He took a pic and brought it to the person at the front desks attention and they said they'd "make a note" and look into it the next day. After my shower, I was in bed and felt something crawling on my head..it was a flying ant...UGH! As soon as I shook it off my son said mom theirs a bug on you pillow..it was ANOTHER flying ant..at that point we looked at Fairfield suites down the street and checked in. I wanted to stay at this SpringHill Suites after having a great experience at a SpringHill at Chicago O'Hare Airport. The Gainesville SpringHill is located just far enough off Archer Road to be quiet but close enough to easily get out to the shopping areas nearby. The two queen bed room was spacious, comfortable, and I enjoyed the couch and coffee table down at the end of the room. Having two sinks in the room is a plus. I'm not sure if it's because of Covid or not, but the room wasn't cleaned at all during the course of the four days I was there, so if I needed extra soap, shampoo, or washcloths I had to track down the cleaning staff in the hallways. With Covid, hotels have had to adjust their continental and hot breakfast options. At this SpringHill, there is one woman who each morning takes your breakfast order and prepares it for you based on what you select off the daily menu. How she does this could be best described as cranky and irritated, chastising guests with a snappy attitude and complaining of being overworked. This makes getting the breakfast you have paid for with your room both awkward and uncomfortable. She seems like a nice person but it is unfortunate that she seems so unhappy with her job. If she needs more help in the mornings, she should ask the manager for assistance, but don't take it out on the guests. Overall, even with so many hotel options in Gainesville to choose from, I would stay at this SpringHill again. read more

This place had a couple red flags. Their pool was down and we were not informed, one of the main reasons we came. They told us we could go to the YMCA & pay to swim (keep in mind they close at 9) & it was 8:57. They proceeded to tell us they had a shuttle to take us there. NO THANKS. They then tried bribing us with lollipops ? We went to our room & there was blood splattered on the pillow. The floors had dust & grime on them. Then their free breakfast, the coffee wasn't strong, the waffles had hair in them, & there were children running around everywhere. For the price this hotel is not acceptable. read more

There are multiple hotels in this same area that really exceed expectations and would be a better choice then this one. I will never stay at this location again and due to the horrible customer service may not stay at a Marriott family hotel again. I will be reviewing on the Marriott website also and hope to hear back from them! Convenient location close to UF and several restaurants. Located right off the I75. It's a small hotel with only 4 floors but each room is a suite, complete with a small refrigerator and a microwave. There is also a sitting area with a sofa bed. Breakfast and wifi are included in the price of the room. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Would stay again. read more

We checked in late. A small suite....I'd never want a suite this small, unless it was on a cruise ship. Only 1 tv that straddled the sitting area and sleeping area. The room was clean and odor free. I wasn't happy with taking a luke warm shower with the faucet turned all of the way on "Hot". Neither of us felt satisfactory heat for more than five seconds. My showers were at 9pm and noon. The staff was very nice. Communication needs to be mandatory when guests request a Late check-out. We made a request and with the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, we got 2 knocks on the door, 2 hours before our estimated departure. And 2 phone calls (I was in the Luke warm shower and couldn't answer the phone on the first call). I totally get wanting to get the booking in order and not paying housekeeping overtime. But everyone said that "They didn't know" This was a Tuesday Checkout. It is a nice place...... I couldn't wait to get to the Ritz Carlton. read more

I love this place. The front desk is hilarious. I love when they bring us the right amount of towels. Housekeeping is so good at cleaning. Not only did our towels disappear, but so did the bed! The front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast staff are a joy to have around. They never fail to make me smile. Shuttle services are great. Room amenities are great. Wish I could rate a ZERO! **Morally Bankrupt Management** is happy to take money (expensive night rate), for a substandard hotel and services. *10 Issues* 1) 2 of 3 nights NO HOT Water. Completely Unacceptable, in the time that we are experiencing a Covid 19 pandemic. How is it possible that this hotel could be kept clean and sanitary? 2) They say they have a full hot breakfast, but after about 1 hour breakfast is reduced to packaged food and disgusting yoghurt. Did get cereal but the milk they served was lumpy and spoiled. 3) 2 out of 3 nights guests with too many kids in room crying and screaming all night even after night manager talked with guests. No sleep 2 nights! 4) Dark parking lot, (side entrance), no outside lights feels unsafe and usually had trash on the ground. 5) No security deadlock on door, only swing "chain like" mechanism. 6) Absolutely paper thin walls. 7) Moved to a supposed quieter room to discover NO HOT water and Cockroaches. Had to beg to move back to my original room. 8) **Morally Bankrupt Management** No real concern for creating a good guest experience from Manager Julian. Told him about hot water, noisy guests and cockroaches issues. He showed almost no empathy and did not say I'm sorry lets see how I can make the rest of your stay more pleasant. Told me this is a 14 year old hotel, plumber's coming next week to change valves and water would be shut off. Didn't address noise or cockroach issue! Poorly run and maintained hotel and with a manager who expressed little or no care for his guests experience, felt completely 100% unappreciated. 9) Cheap management doesn't even have coffee for the guests! 10) Could not wash clothes due to no hot water. Got out as soon as I could find another hotel not sold out in the area. Your experience might be different but I can say for me 100% NOT Recommended and I felt like I got ripped off! read more

Hotels are limited in Gainesville so clean is the #1 request as opposed to my usual clean and luxury. This hotel felt newer and clean but was average on comfort. My only criticism is the tp stinks and the shower pressure wasn't outstanding. Otherwise, this was a clean hotel with nice people. read more

I have been a regular visitor to this property for the last 6 years which my kids at the University of Florida (and will be coming back for 4 more years). I am a Platinum member of Marriott and stay in their properties exclusively around the world. The service and team-work at this property and the care they provide along with Jason Chaney is absolutely incredible. The rooms are relaxing and clean. The breakfasts are excellent. Official Hotel For the Gators of U of FL! I didn't know that when trying to find shelter for graduation weekend when 10k students were marching in staggered ceremonies. Many places were gouging rates and were completely booked up. We lucked up on reasonable priced room with enough of the right types of rooms for our huge party. I'm happy we did because I don't have any complaints. Immediately upon getting into my king suite I started wiping every hard surface with Clorox wipes. Anything my hand or stuff would touch was cleaned. My home should be as clean as that room. There wasn't one dark mark on those white wipes. The headboard, the phones, remotes,tv, clocks, wall plates, lamps, tables, sofa, chairs, desk, countertops, faucets, fridge etc. I wasn't cleaning looking for dirt but just preventing the sharing of body fluids and germs. I even pulled the bed covers back and searched with a light for bed bugs. My room was clear but a family member was awaken with two bites of their hands and a bed bug on them. They are a road warrior due to their job and said it happens so they refused to make the front desk aware of the problem. The staff is extremely happy, helpful and professional. The breakfast is a hot breakfast with something for everyone. The cooks are more than happy to please. The pool and weight room was enjoyable to those that used them. The beds are extremely comfortable and I sleep extremely well. The best sleep I had in a long time. I must get one of those mattresses and pillows including the bedding. They also replace all their beddings often and I watched to make sure. Their bathroom products are Paul Michell and smell great. I wish I had asked for new ones everyday instead of being green. The black our window treatments worked and allowed the sunlight in when opened. The rooms are insulated enough to prevent noise from next door. I had a great trip and will seek this brand in my future trips. I will stay at this site my next time in town as well. The kitchen is a small bar type good for take out but not large enough to cook a meal. However the living room was large enough for a 20 person celebration. read more

Housekeeping does not clean the bathroom in between guest stays. They leave dirty wash clothes in the shower and used soap. Also urine on the toilet. The management won't call back or respond to complaints. I would say this place is as bad as a flea motel. read more

This hotel is spectacular. Let me list the reasons why: -Free tasty coffee in lobby 24/7. - free tasty breakfast every morning. -Microwave and refrigerator in rooms. - clean, spacious rooms. -clean bathrooms. -comfortable bed and tons of nice pillows. -free drop off and pickup shuttle to any local location. -HDTV viewable from bed or couch. -Awesome location that is walkable to restaurants and grocery markets and right off the highway. -friendly staff. - free wifi. List of tips: -yogurt and milk is under counter in small fridges in lobby during breakfast. -breakfast starts at 6:30am on weekdays and usually have eggs, some variety of sausage, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and some variety of grain like bagels or muffins. -laundry service is not free as guide suggests (form has price of each garment). -paper plates and utensils are inside the microwave. -the tv and stand do rotate (you might have to pull them a little harder - no need to rotate the entire dresser like I did the first night). -the shuttle is free and will take you to any location or pick you up at any local location immediately upon request if not already out, otherwise you simply schedule the time (they recommend important ones to be 24 hours ahead, and the shuttle driver will graciously accept tips). -if you leave trashcan outside of room they will change it out. -big trashcans near the ice machines. -target, walmart, trader joes, and walmart within walking distance of a mile to get groceries, drinks, or low-cost meals. -regal movie theatre within walking distance as well. -check out time 12:00pm. -check in time was around 3 or 4 pm, but they will work with you. -pool is salt water. -free soap and shampoo is lemon scented so bring your own if do not like. -only one way in and out of parking lot so potential for traffic jams. -no wifi password, just select it. -automated walk-up call works great and easy. -there is a military rate as well as corporate rate. -if there is no availability online call their sales manager to see if way to fit you in. read more

The rooms here are "semi-suites." You get the sleeping area, the bathroom area, and the sitting area, but a little kitchenette (or not even) with a mini fridge, a microwave, and a wet bar sink. Basically, you can get the same thing at a two-star hotel for half the cost. The parking lot was a bit small for the size of this place, so you'll get lucky if you can get a spot. Breakfast was good, just your standard fare found in most hotels. The decor of the hotel was weird, the carpeting was a mish-mash of random, bright colors. But that's just me. The one thing I didn't like about this place was that I can CLEARLY hear the people in the next room, even though it seems like they were talking normally. So basically... If you want to get it on, your whole floor can hear you most likely. Of the Marriott chains I stayed at during my time in Gainesville, this place was my least favorite. But, it would be a much better choice than the seedy cheapo motels. read more

This is a very decent place to stay in Gainesville. All the rooms are suites, with a little sitting area, with a fridge, and micro wave and pullout sofa and desk and chair. It's clean and if you need anything, they are accomodating. I think it's fairly new for Gainesville. Part of Marriotts. They have a free breakfast buffet every morning, free wifi, a gym, pool, and coffee and tea 24/7. The lobby has a little shop with snacks and drinks. They are conveniently located right off Archer and 75 and across from a lot of shops. If you are visiting a student, or want to check out UF for the future, stay here, it's a no-brainer. Not luxurious, but in Gainesville, there is no luxury anyway. read more

Overall our stay wasn't too bad. The room was clean and checking in was easy. There were a couple of issues with the hotel, the hot water wasn't working, there weren't any trash bags in our room.
