Grady House Bed & Breakfast - Peanut butter chocolate crepe cake

Grady House Bed & Breakfast

This is a review just on the weekend brunch that they do here. It was so cute and cozy inside and…read moreSara was so sweet. It is a little pricey for brunch, but it's a big meal! It's a set menu but when you call to reserve you let her know of any allergies or dietary restrictions. The meal for the day my mom and I went including a spinach and tomato quiche; hashbrown casserole, fruit and a pop over as well as water, orange juice and coffee available. Dessert was a chocolate and peanut butter crepe cake. The presentation of the food itself was beautiful, but the table and decor of the place was also adorable. A great spot to come and will definitely be back.

Dean Is yesterday's news. Why else would our third return still cause raves? While Savannah's Eliza Thompson House rules supreme for its local historic ambiance, the Grady House walks away with first prizes for food and caring staff in a historical setting. My point is that you'll have to drive two hundred miles across two states to find anything comparable to The Grady House. Real antique furnishings, real flowers, real hospitality, and very real people. It shines through in the Miller family and staff. The photos show the true to period decor of the home and grounds and its ambiance, as well as the exquisite presentation of the high quality breakfast. Only your personal experience will immerse you in the tastes, conversation, and caring of a lady who loves the Grady house and creating a special time for each person.

I stayed at this new Hampton Inn on a Friday night as I was going to Ichetucknee Springs State Park…read moreSaturday morning. Alachua was 20 minutes from the park plus this hotel was cheaper than any hotel I researched in Lake City. I used my Hilton app to get into my room and skipped the front desk (the line was long). Our room was nice. It was clean and I loved the modern new look of everything. The bed was comfortable and I slept pretty well (except for my friends snoring lol). I had breakfast before checking out Saturday which included fruit, scrambled eggs, sausage and biscuits and gravy. There was plenty of parking and we were able to walk to dinner. I would stay here again if in the area!

The room was spacious and well appointed. We were very disappointed when we checked in. The girl at the desk barely acknowledged me when we walked in. Did't even ask me if I was an Honors member. I was glad we checked in early with the Hilton app so I didn't have to deal with her. The Manager needs to give her a course in Customer Relations. We were also disappointed that we weren't told that breakfast was only until 9:00 am not the usual 10:00 am so when we got there at 9:00 it was closed. Fortunately, the morning front desk lady made us togo bags full of goodies. Seems the owner has changed the usual Hampton breakfast closing time from 10 to 9. I don't think it is going to be a welcome change.

My room was very comfortable, good lighting, plenty of outlets and USB ports. I absolutely love that they feed a couple of cats on the back patio. Guests can watch the kitties eating their breakfast. I will definitely stay here again when I am traveling in the area.

It's in a safe location and 1 minute from a Publix grocery store. A very quiet area. We were in town for a softball tournament and the hotel was 25 minutes away from Newberry which felt like 10 minutes driving. The breakfast was really good. Sausage, biscuits and gravy one day, bacon, eggs and your standard cereal, bagels etc. Definitely worth a visit. The pool is a really nice addition as well as the hot tub (unfortunately it was not hot at all), both are outside. There is a sitting area with a fireplace but it didn't not work. Maybe the propane was out. Our room was the standard 2 queen bedroom. Very clean in every aspect. Our sink needed to be checked as it filled pretty quickly and the toilet ran until you put the handle down after use. Not a big deal but just FYI. Now I was disappointed in the television I not having any apps to watch. It was the standard cable TV. I guess I'm spoiled. Other than that, I would definitely stay again and you should too!!

As they escorted us to our table, they explained the layout and all the food options available, which was very helpful. They also provided table service for drinks and clearing plates, which made everything feel very organized and relaxing. The food was excellent -- the prime rib was absolutely delicious. I also loved that the desserts were bite-sized, so you could try a variety without overdoing it. The brunch was also very well priced, especially for the quality and variety offered, and they even had a kids buffet which was a nice touch for families. Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a nice brunch outing.

A manager, Ari, was delightful, giving us a summary of what we are offered as guests of the hotel. Our room was #366, which we would soon discover was a handicap-accessible room. This was not a problem for us, but since my wife has a 25+ year history as a case manager for people with physical and mental challenges, she assessed the room and took joy in pointing out its deficiencies for the "definitely abled" population. The major one was how furniture placement creates challenges for a person who uses a wheelchair or motorized chair to access the bed. No way to climb, slide, or be lifted into the bed, certainly not around the sharp-cornered desk. Now, as for the bed itself. The mattress has seen its best days around 20 years ago. Springs can be felt easily, and if one shifts, the whole bed moves. And movement will be accompanied by sound effects, for a loose piece of metal flashing flaps noticeably underneath the bed, especially if one seeks to practice the finer arts of marital massage. But, hey, sound effects are freebies, right? Finally, the basic, handwritten "Do Not Touch" sign on the a/c unit, which blows loudly, even loudly enough to compete with Beverly Hills Cop 1 & 2 on sound setting 25, is an interesting touch. The hotel needs a general update. As I said earlier, this is our second stay, and by comparison, it is about 2-3 stars lower than our last, back when we stayed here to celebrate my cousin Beau's wedding. But that is not Ari's fault; she is a delight.
