We had a room block here a couple of weekends ago for our wedding. The staff members were great in the planning process and allowed us to bring welcome bags for our guests. Our guests enjoyed being greeted with free popcorn, as well as the free breakfast, appetizers (more like a meal), and soda. They even offer free alcoholic drinks for those of age. I had family visiting from out of town who stayed here for a graduation. The unique thing about Drury Inns and Suites is not only do they offer a hot breakfast each morning with coffee, eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, juices, fruits, oatmeals, and so much more, but they have a full dinner and drinks each evening. Yes, a complete buffet dinner with tickets to use for alcoholic drinks down in their lobby. Each night is a different meal downstairs and their bar has a few different beers on tap plus seasonal speciality cocktails their staff can whip up. This is all included in your room price. Every single one of the staff members we met were incredibly nice and accommodating. From the front desk gentleman who helped us check in, to the friendly manager who went out of her way to get us a tray to help carry all of our food and drinks back to our room. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and pillows. There is ample parking and the hotel is conveniently located right off Interstate 75, on Archer Road, one of the main roads through Gainesville with shopping and restaurants. With all of this included, the Drury Inn and Suites in Gainesville offers a fantastic value. I know in my future travels I will be looking at Drury Inns and Suites first before anything else. read more

We looked into staying at this Drury but did not make a final decision until a couple hours before we arrived at our first visit. We were debating about staying here because we were going to miss the Kickback hour but none of the hotels nearby seem to meet my standards. I had several reservations at different Drury locations in the upcoming weeks and I figured why not add to my rewards! We arrived around 1am on a Monday going into Tuesday morning. My first experience was walking in, only to discover the door is locked and you have to use the phone to call inside for them to open the door. I find it annoying but honestly, I love the security. I was greeted and offered assistance. I said I had a reservation, and was told to show my ID and credit card. The check in was quick and easy. The lobby is huge and they also have a little mart that actually well equipped. There is also self serve coffee in the lobby 24/7. The rooms are spacious enough and the room we chose our second trip was good for both of us being able to work. The bed was very comfortable but of course I found several black hairs . They definitely were not ours-I have dark blonde hair and hubs is bald. The breakfast is one of my favorite breakfast buffets out there. They have the staples that I enjoy for breakfast, plus much more! Bagels, pastries, cereals, eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits, waffles, fruit, yogurt, juices, etc. Since we were working our second visit, we had to eat quickly and get back upstairs for work. I eat slow so I wound up eating some breakfast in between my sessions. The kickback hour is such an amazing idea/concept. It is just as fulfilling as the breakfast buffet! Plus, you get 3 alcoholic drinks to enjoy that are included. There is usually beer, wine, scotch, gin, rum, vodka, and I believe tequila. There is also a soda fountain machine for anyone who does not drink. The menu changes daily for the kickback hour but they only work off of 3 different menus they rotate. Every night, there is a form of potato side and vegetables. As well as nachos and cheese, hot dogs with buns, and some sort of main dish. The overall hotel was clean everywhere I went. There were several staff members who had friendly conversations with us since we were there for a week. There was one individual who was kind of bitchy and condescending but hey, 1 out of several within a week is not bad. We love Drury hotels but we will not be staying at a location if it is longer than a night due to their unreasonable pet charge that is NIGHTLY! $40 friggin dollars a night for my dog to stay with me, even though we did not have housekeeping come in once throughout our stay. There is nothing anyone can say to me that justifies that. read more

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Discriminatory and Unprofessional Behavior by Employee Luis Pastrone Dear Drury Inn Management, I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the treatment my family and I received from one of your employees, Luis Pastrone, during our recent stay at your Gainesville location. This experience was, without question, the worst I've ever had at any hotel. My family was in town for a family reunion, occupying over 20 rooms at your hotel from July 3-6. On the evening of Saturday, July 5, after dinner, we gathered in a common area near the high chairs to socialize, play light music, and enjoy time together. We were respectful and mindful of our surroundings, keeping the volume at a reasonable level. At around 7:15PM, Mr. Pastrone approached our group and rudely told us to turn the music down. Though it was not loud to begin with, we complied. Keep in mind this was earlier than 10pm. Moments later, he returned and told us our voices were "too loud," and that if we didn't quiet down, he would turn off the lights. Unfortunately, he followed through and turned off the lights on our entire group, while we were simply sharing stories and enjoying a precious family moment. It was deeply disrespectful and humiliating. To make matters worse, there was another group nearby celebrating loudly, singing "Happy Birthday," and clearly making more noise than we were. Mr. Pastrone did not address them at all nor turn off the lights in their area. This blatant difference in treatment has led me and my family to believe we were being discriminated against, particularly as a Black family gathering. The behavior displayed by Mr. Pastrone was not only unprofessional and discourteous, but also discriminatory and deeply offensive. We expected a welcoming, inclusive environment--especially from a brand like Drury Inn & Suites--and we were instead treated with contempt and disregard. As a result of this experience, my entire family has decided that we will not return to this location--or any Drury property--and we will be sharing our experience publicly to help inform others. While nothing can restore the precious family time that was disrupted, we do hope that appropriate action will be taken against Mr. Pastrone and that your company will address this situation seriously to prevent future occurrences of such biased treatment. PS I fell to mention we had to eat our ice cream in the dark. Disrespect 101!!!!!! We have contacted our attorney regarding this discrimination, and also the Gainesville Board of County Commissioners will receive a copy of this complaint. read more

Perfect! That about sums it up! Seriously, from the time you check in to Drury Inn to the time you check out, everything is just as it should be for a guest/customer. First, check-in is always smooth and they answer your questions before you ask them...almost as if they can read your mind. And if you have any more questions...they are more than happy to answer them even though they have probably answered the same question a hundred times already that day. They are so nice and courteous. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have everything you need. Not to mention the pillows are comfortable (this is "huge" for me). The bathrooms are spacious too and they give you a nice amount of towels...no going back down to the desk to beg for more. Plus, the rooms are quiet...you do not have to worry at all about hallway noise or hearing your neighbor's TV. Coffee and Tea are always available in the lobby. The popcorn in the evenings is always a nice touch (and what my guys seem to look forward to the most believe it or not). The evening kickback and breakfast are always over the top fantastic in my opinion. Both always leave me saying "wow". (Oh...Wednesday night was Chicken Alfredo along with some other items.) A wonderful place to relax is out by the pool or spa. Both are the perfect temperature and are more than ample in size. Lastly, there is plenty of parking and conveniently located near I-75. Final Note: My family and I love the Drury Inn and I highly recommend them without hesitation. They have that magical "something" and have "it" figured out while offering all they do at a fair price. First time staying at a Drury, we have platinum membership at another chain of hotels. We were in town for a Cheer Comp & stayed with the Team. From check in until leaving, I was at ease & happy. We missed "Happy Hour" but was glad to know it is offered. The girls enjoyed free popcorn & soda. The room was spacious. We had a double bed room. The pillows were a HUGE plus. Slept comfortably. The bathroom was super clean. Dispensers of shampoo, conditioner & shower gel were in the shower. Water pressure was great! Coffee is always available. Breakfast was a good assortment. The Customer Service was awesome! This location is visible from I75. Located close to campus as well. Multiple shopping, grocery, and restaurants near by. read more

This is the 2nd time that I have stayed at the Gainesville Drury location. The hotel is always clean and sparkly. The front desk person was so kind to me everytime I spoke to her. I had a dog in the University of Gainesville Vet center and he had been there for 5 days. I was anxious about the surgery and she was very kind and reaffirming that all would be okay. The breakfast served was good and the dinner was also good. I liked the fact that you could drink several cocktails of your choice with the dinner. All staff is friendly. They are diffidently customer service trained. I rate this hotel as a 10 and will stay there again if I end up in this area. Star rating. read more

First time staying at Drury. Check-in was easy and efficient. We were told about the free breakfast, as well as evening snacks and 3 drinks that were included. Many hotels have stopped those services during Covid which I think is why this hotel was so crowded/popular. Breakfast was buffet style - they serve you, there are plastic barrier up and you can either stay there or they put in a container for you. It was very efficient. We came up for a football game so the hotel was crowded which made me nervous with Covid. There were quite a few people without masks and crowding in elevators. There were only two elevators which surprised me for the size of the hotel and there was usually a line for the elevator. We arrived a little after 5:30 and there was quite a large line (not socially distanced) waiting. I realize this is not entirely the hotels fault but they seemed understaffed. When we got back after the game they have a little pantry area where u can buy drinks and snacks. Five of us were waiting to buy some items and we waited 10 minutes and no one ever showed up to man the front desk. The rooms are a nice size and were clean. Great place to stay on way home. As always, the Drury never disappoints. The staff was friendly, and always had smiles on their faces. Our room and the common areas were all clean and this includes the workout equipment (which is a rare thing in hotels these days)-they even had wipes to clean the equipment! Happy hour was great and they had 2 options of fun drinks to boot! Outside it is storming. Thunder and lightning too. Inside the Drury Hotel it is cozy and inviting. For weary travelers there is a wonderful hot breakfast awaiting you and many may be surprise but also a hot dinner too. The dinner buffet here consists of some snacky foods and wine. Hotdogs with toppings, nacho chips and cheese, salads, chicken noodle soup, veggies, baked beans, baked potatoes and pulled pork sliders. Not bad at all. Breakfast is equally good. Hot coffee seems to be available most of the day and they have this cute old fashioned popcorn machine and bags to carry this warm, crunchy snack. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. My bathroom was spotless and all the regular stuff is there. My only slight complaint is that I forgot my toothbrush and this year I've discovered they are now charging for a toothbrush. Oh well, times have changed. The Drury Hotel is a good place to rest a weary head and if you don't like the break buffet or if you miss it, there is a perfectly good Waffle House right across the street. read more

This trip I was in room 626 ( double Queen ) it was supposed to be a King but who knows. The room was comfy and the bed was plush as always. Shower had good pressure and hey the soaps were all full for a change . I've stayed here more times than I can remember but my check in & out is always super easy and the staff are always friendly. My daughters and I stay at this hotel 2-3 times a year because my oldest sees a specialist and UF. I love this hotel and their staff. I've never met a more experienced and friendly person than Casey, the manager. She strives to make the customers happy and ensure their return. The hotel also offers a huge selection of breakfast items daily and at 5:30 they serve dinner which included 3 adult beverages per adult in the room. The hot tub and pool are an added bonus. I will not stay at another hotel while in Gainesville. This place feels like home every time we are there. Duane and Nina were super nice to my youngest and myself. The hotel was super clean and very nice, and the staff went above and beyond. The room was great and wasn't noisy at all despite being near the elevator. The shower had great water pressure and felt good and warm, and the bed was very comfortable. The pool was spectacular and very clean, the water was a great temperature, and the hot tub was clean and had great jets in it. It's a perfect swimming place! At the front desk Jayce was a big help when I lost some jewelry that belonged to my great grandmother, even though we had already checked out and left hours before, they went and found it and kept it safe for our return. I am extremely thankful for the super helpful staff! Even the janitor at the food bar was extremely nice and courteous, and seemed to enjoy his job! The hotel felt safe and the free popcorn and food offered was great! I will definitely be staying again if I ever pass through! read more

Came in town for surgery at Shands Hospital. We chose this hotel due to the wonderful reviews! & even though we drove 4 hours for surgery next morning, the hospital called and canceled upon arrival. But thankfully, the employees at the hotel were wonderful & the rooms were great: comfy bed, microwave, & frig . The location is fabulous. We had a great dinner at Bonefish across the street. And the full breakfast the next morning was one of the best I've seen!! Thank you for making a not so pleasant situation much better ! The surgery was rescheduled for July and we will be back to this hotel! read more

This was my first overnight at a Drury. This location appears to be newish, and is brightly decorated, modern and a lot of nice amenities. If you're a regular Drury lodger you probably know they do a sort of hotel happy hour in the lobby. Drinks and food on the house. I didn't partake but the dining area was packed with what appeared to be a mix of working folks of all vocations and some leisure travelers. I received a room on the third floor right across from the elevator (which I seek to avoid at all costs due to noise) fortunately I didn't hear any after falling asleep. There was a small barking dog early in the morning which was a bit annoying but I was waking up anyway. The room was clean, basic and not overly fancy but functional. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets soft and smooth. The bathroom was spacious and clean and had a step in shower rather than a tub, and featured soap and shampoo which seems to be standard practice these days. There were plenty of food options including grocery stores near by as well as shopping and gas stations. The highways were near by and could be heard while falling asleep or waking. The fitness center was clean and basic, a couple of treadmills, bikes, elipiticals along with free weights. All in all a solid hotel for your travels read more

Stay here typically twice a month. I live in Fort Lauderdale Florida and work one week a month in Atlanta Georgia. The hotel is perfectly situated half way between the 2 places. It's right off the highway, parking for my large truck has never been a problem. It's very clean, and quiet. They offer a nice breakfast in the am and snacks and or dinner/drinks in the evening. The manager Casey is always so kind and is excellent at her job. All the staff have always been friendly and helpful. What a wonderful stay!! The hotel is beautiful. It is very clean and looks brand new. Super comfy beds and pillows. Room is spacious. They offer free breakfast,3 free bar drinks and a "kick back" buffet nightly. The pool is gorgeous and well maintained. The property is 10 stars! BUT then it gets better!!! The staff are, without exception friendly and helpful! This is our first stay at a Drury Inn. Based on our experience, we will seek them out while we are traveling. Great convenient location to I75. This was my first time staying at Drury Inn and I was pleasantly surprised. They are following all protocols during the pandemic. All guests must wear masks in the common areas. Morning breakfast is served in to go boxes but you can still sit in the dining area. The hotel appeared to be very clean. The room was nice and spacious and the beds were comfortable. Check in and check out were a breeze. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to the area. read more

An absolutely incredible hotel. I can not recommend this hotel enough. The employees are knowledgeable about the area and have good recommendations. The entrance is bright and clean. ROOM: I found my room to be incredibly cleaned with a impressive attention to detail that most hotels forgo. The shower offers body wash, shampoo and conditioner in case you forgot to bring yours. Thank you to the housekeeping staff! FOOD: they offer an evening social hour where both free food and beverages are provided. The breakfast is a great breakfast with hot eggs and other items. I was impressed that it wasn't a small area with a few options. This breakfast had several items to choose from. The cook came out to check on the food and to make sure the coffee was hot and that there was plenty of cream. Great job! Front desk employees were absolutely fantastic. The pool was amazing the gym was fabulous. The front desk agents in the morning afternoon and overnight were all very very pleasant and friendly. Just checked in. When I made reservations I requested a firm bed. I advised them I have a bad back. When I called earlier today to advise of my late check in the representative advised me that she saw I requested a firm bed. Well it is not firm at all. Box spring has no support. So bed sinks right into box spring. I went down to front desk to advise of situation and was told all beds are the same. I asked for some mattress stiffners and was told they do not have any. So I asked why not advise patrons this when making a reservation. I am a member also. Patrick whom received us was very courteous and advised us of breakfast times, bar perks and other things offered with our stay. All staff I have encountered have provided good customer service. Room is nice and clean. Not crowed with unnecessary furniture. See pics. Has microwave and fridge. They have hot breakfast. My review is more or less based on the fact there are no bed options, solutions or advisories your request will not be addressed. read more
