8 days in a hotel without one towel pick up
Mermade G.

We stayed at this hotel because it was a "team" hotel for our daughter's softball tournament (the big CO Sparkler they have at the end of every June). Pros - valet workers were extremely nice and very prompt, the gentleman at the front desk was very helpful upon checking in (I forget his name), and location is what you're paying for I'm assuming. Cons - the valet was $40 without an option to self park - since it was a team hotel I didn't really have an option. As a random guest I don't know that I would opt for that. Our fridge wasn't working properly so we had maintenance come out. He said he would be back in 5 min - waited almost an hour and nothing, but we had to leave. Didn't hear back so at 10pm on my way back I asked if it was fixed. They said yes, it wasn't. If my yogurt isn't cold, the fridge isn't working. We received full housekeeping service the day after we checked in, no issues. On day 2 or 3 we didn't - which I understood we only received it every other day, so we asked a housekeeper who was waiting for the elevator if she would throw our trash. A few days later I also had to walk down a few doors to ask another gentleman if we could throw our trash in his bin because we hadn't received trash pick up. We checked in Sunday and by Thursday I asked for fresh towels (after not receiving any housekeeping) - No towels brought up so I called again. They finally arrived after about 40ish min. On Saturday we still hadn't received any housekeeping and I asked the front desk who said they would get full service up, great thank you, so we tossed the towels in a pile, however when we came back, still nothing. On Sunday (mind you we checked in the previous Sunday) I called asking for towels and toilet paper cuz we were out of both, and they said housekeeping wasn't in yet. I asked if there was something they could do as we needed to shower and check out. So they had a lady who worked the front desk being up towels and toilet paper. When I talked to the front desk the lady who helped me said she was a weekend manager and didn't have the authority to make any decisions so she would have someone contact me on Monday. It's Wednesday and I had to call them. The gentleman who said he was the manager said he would call back. Instead of calling back someone emailed me a list of housekeeping dates and seemed unbothered. To which I responded and showed him these photos and that his dates were incorrect because we would not have this many towels or this much garbage piled up. Also, my daughter made the beds (which isn't a big deal, but don't offer housekeeping then). Lastly, they are supposed to offer breakfast, however all of the days we went down they did not have any hot items available (I believe they were getting more made, but it took too long and we had to leave). They were constantly out of the hot items and also simple things like bananas. We are breakfast there once. Overall, I personally wouldn't stay here again.

Prices for hotels in Denver at the end of April were EXPENSIVE. Luckily, I was able to use my credit card points, so it didn't seem as bad. Otherwise, it would have been about $250 a night. It's not for nothing though. The location of this SpringHill is great. The Pepsi center is right there, and there are a bunch of restaurants/bars (LoDo) nearby, about a 5-10 minute walk. The 16th Street Mall is about a 20-minute walk. Pros: 1. Location, location, location! (as mentioned above) 2. Good breakfast. Might even be the best continental breakfast I've eaten at the hotel. They have breakfast meats (varies each day), scrambled eggs, pastries, toast, bagels, fruit, yogurt, waffles, and on weekdays, they have a simple meat/cheese platter 3. Rooms feel spacious and clean 4. Bathroom is bright and spacey Cons: 1. Toilet seat had a drop of urine on it when we arrived. Makes you wonder what else they don't clean, but I really didn't want to go down that road 2. Uncomfortable pillows Overall, there aren't enough cons to keep me from staying here again the next time I visit Denver.

Day one: Lost my cousin's reservation. Luggage cart was broken. Pool was closed. Ice machines were broken. This all happened and was noticed before we got to our room. Day two: In our room we noticed a small sign that says they charge $12/day for parking. (This is stated on their website.) Doesn't matter if they can prove that you parked there or not. If you arrive in Uber or a taxi you will be charged for parking. No soap in shower. Water leaking through wall in carpet. Pool reopened and my son and Neice were coughing, pink skin, pink and irradiated eyes. Took multiple showers, eye drops and tea with honey to feel better. They didn't offer to move us to a different room. Never said they would try and fix the leak or call a plumber. Assistant manager TORRENCE said they couldn't comp our stay because we made reservations through a third party, even though they had our credit card and could decide not to charge us for all the inconvenience with the pool. He promised to take off the parking few and didn't. I asked if they could get us a free stay at another one of their sister hotels under the Marriott in the future and he said no. After I told the am about the pool I recommended he give new guests checking in a warning about the pool but it would be safer to close it. They didn't want to do that and refused to close the pool. Day three: During breakfast I noticed spider webs and chipped paint in the dining room, see attached pictures. House keeping was every other day and they started knocking on doors at 8am and when you told them to come back later they would keep knocking. During checkout they charged my mom and dad for all the rooms even though we told them not too and spent some time fixing that. When it came to getting the parking fee taken off at checkout, Kelly at checkout just kept saying she didn't know anything about and kept asking for our credit card. She wasn't willing to call the assistant manager and ask. She just wanted our money. Didn't ask how our stay was, no manners and no customer service skills.

The hotel is next to University of Colorado and it is the closest hotel to the Pepsi Center. You are a few islands away and you are there within 5 minutes. Since I was so near by I bought last minute tickets through my phone while in the room and headed over just before top off for the Nuggets game. The hotel is at the edge of downtown so everything is within walking distance. If you don't feel like walking in the cold, take advantage of their shuttle to downtown. It is not a shuttle, but more of a private car so the shuttle service is first come first served. It runs from 6:30am-10:30pm. The room was clean and very spacious. The living room area had a comfortable sectional and the desk was in front of it. The bed was comfortable and soft. An iron, extra blankets, and a hair dryer is available in the closet. The bathroom had all the basic needs so you don't have to bring shampoo, conditioner or soap. If you're the type to want breakfast at the hotel this place is it. They have yogurt, breads, milk, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, juice, coffee and more. It's pretty basic, but it's something nice to have.

Ample storage under the sinks

Best Mariott brand location I've stayed at for multiple reasons: Excellent location within walking distance from downtown meant we didn't have to drive or look for parking when we wanted coffee or meals. Modernized. The rooms are HGTV quality with nice finishes and pleasing color palettes. Love love love the bathroom here! Step in shower means you don't have to fumble over the edge of the tub (and who really takes baths at hotels anyway??). Gorgeous mirror and open area under the sink provide ample space for hairdryer, towels, and toiletries without feeling cramped or bumping anything. Sliding barn door means your room mate not waking you up in the middle of the night because the bathroom door slides quietly instead of clicking shut. Comfortable beds and pillows. Friendly customer service at the front desk. The only negative is that there is no self parking and the valet is expensive and adds up quickly if you're here for more than one day. However, the valet are very personable and friendly so that helps make the expense less painful :) No swimming pool but with this prime location there isn't space for one. Very clean. Will be coming back to stay here again!

The hotel is very conveniently located. It's like a ten minute walk or so to Union Station. There are lots of restaurants nearby too. As far as the accommodations, the bed was soft and comfy. Parking seemed safe and required the room key to get into the garage. The complimentary grab and go breakfast was a jimmy dean bagel sandwich with yogurt, a blueberry muffin, and an apple... plus coffee if you want. Staff was very nice. We didn't have issues with outside noise either. Great stay!!

A great place to stay in the midst of downtown. Great rates through Marriott's website, despite being last minute and non-refundable. The valet service was friendly, although that was just another charge that I didn't account for on top of all the city, state, and MSU university taxes. The free shuttle was an added bonus and happily took me to a pizza place down the way. I didn't even have enough time to document my pizza experience on instagram, before the shuttle was already at the door to pick me up. Wasn't terribly noisy at night minus the sound of a few toilet flushes. On the first night, it immediately smelled of the green stuff in the hallway (but it is Colorado). Front desk hospitality is great and they even give you a lollipop when you check in (no joke). I checked in early and was on my way. Breakfast was good (despite some unmannered, unsupervised teens in the area) and consisted of a variety of waffle, oatmeal and toppings, eggs, pastries, bagels, turkey sausage (not as good), fruit, juices, coffee, and yogurts. The city lights and outside driving circle look beautiful at night

Bananas :-(
Candace C.

Great value, great staff, great service. Easily accessible to restaurants and local attractions. Rooms are large, trendy, almost Art Deco-ish. I would take off a half star if I knew how for breakfast. The oatmeal was cold and gummy and the bananas were far too ripe to be put out for guests. Would lodge here again.

We loved the ambiance, feeling like we'd really discovered a gem off the beaten track, pun intended. By joining the club, it was a monthly excuse to plan a special night out to what became one of our favorite places for date night. It's been a couple of years now, but we had occassion to meet the owners, when we mistook their closing time for an hour later. The lights were still on, so we didn't realize our mistake, until they'd already invited us in to exchange our monthly growler with such warmth. Super nice people, reflecting the vibe we always felt on our other visits. The staff echoes that disposition, always friendly and knowledgeable. Though the winery isn't on-site, I've always been impressed with their tasting experience. I've now been a member for over 5 years, going in at least once a month, and they still suggest trying seasonal options and have broadened my palette... Though my ex and I have parted ways for a long while now and he moved away, he's kept our membership current, calling it my "alimony," and a nod to remembering the good times we had together. I recommend Bigsby's for all the good memories for all the folks, be it a lazy summer afternoon on the patio or a cozy evening in the lounge area with a glass of red when it's cold outside!

It also included a small bowl's worth of jasmine rice topped plus three sauces on the side. My favorite was the sesame with sweet chile sauce, while I passed on the spicy vinegar and mango habanero sauces given my low tolerance for spice. Even after a 15-minute delivery drive, everything was still warm and crispy, which is not always the case with takeout. I am already excited to order again and try the chicken adobo, along with a few of their tacos!

The lumpia is the long version and very tasty, the pancit, chicken adobo and lechon kawali plate is very good and when they have calamansi I try and get a cocktail with it because the juice tastes real lol. The few things that I think could use improvement are the tacos. I've had Taco Tuesday there maybe 4 times and unfortunately realized that the tacos are pretty oily and unless getting a non-sauce inclusive taco it's going to likely be oily. The fusion of Filipino into the tacos is a nice gesture but honestly did not do it that much for me, I ultimately like their classic types of tacos and not really the fancy/unique ones they sell. My friend also got a burrito at one point and it was dripping oil. The drinks also tend to be on the weak side and after having three cocktails there over a single meal I didn't really feel much of anything. The service and ambiance of the place is great and the owner really cares about the customers but the parking lot sucks lol, I'll continue to visit this spot for the items that I feel are good but haven't really been out for Taco Tuesday in a while.

Oh yum! Ordered the fish tacos, chicken tacos and steak quesadillas for our family. Nice amount of protein, fresh salsa and toppings (cucumber, radish, limes). Then we tried the quesadilla and it was nicely seasoned as well, not your average tortilla with cheese. The owner was friendly and a joy to talk to, thanks JT! I can't wait to eat this again! Sooo good, I forgot to take a picture!

I was…read moreprepared to wait, I have a brain and realize they didn't have 20 ready for me and they aren't psychic. Anyway, I ask if they can please cut them in half. Not a big deal, I was just thinking not everyone wants a whole and if someone is extra hungry they can take two halves. Just thought it would make things a tad easier. They tell me no. They can't/won't cut in half. Ok, whatever. I don't understand what the big deal is, they obviously posses knives... just cut them instead of saying "no". So stupid. 20ish Minutes after waiting, the person who took my order said it would be 30 minutes to make. Which was weird cause what was going on for the last 20 minutes? 30 minutes to wait is fine, if you don't waste the 20 mins prior resulting in about an hour wait. So, I declined as now we are talking an hour to get 20 simple breakfast burritos. I needed to get to work and I wasn't wanting to wait an entire hour and they just wasted 20 minutes of my time not prepping anything, so I decided not to go with the burritos. Someone came to refund my sale and then preceded to kind of scold me for not ordering in advance. He said something about for an order like 20 burritos they want 2 days heads up. GTF outta here. It's freaking burritos. You don't need 2 days to make 20 burritos. And here's the thing, I'm not here for a lecture because I attempted to give YOU business. And I won't be back, either. When you get a customer to purchase your goods, be happy. Provide them the goods. Make it as soon as you can. Don't say no for no reason. Don't make anyone feel bad for trying to give you business. It would have been SOOOOO simple to make the burritos and quick run the knife through them. But, no, the choice was to do nothing for almost a half hour, to refuse to run a knife through them as asked, and then lecture a customer for coming in to order 20 items. It's not like I asked for 100. What if 10 customers came in and each ordered 2? Can you do that? Do they get lectured, too, or...? See ya.

This is a timed, coursed dinner where the entire room sits and eats together, so arriving on time is essential. The format creates a restaurant wide dinner party feel, which sets the tone for the night. Everything feels intentional, from the pacing to the service to the design of the space. The menu changes often and is never repeated, which makes the experience feel special and creative rather than formulaic. Standout dishes for me included the duck doughnut, the wood ear French toast, the venison burger, and the leek cappuccino. The kanpachi crudo and scallop with tamarind were also beautifully balanced, and desserts like Cash's Apple and The Sphere were thoughtful finishes rather than an afterthought. One of the more memorable details was the menu book at the end of the night, featuring the chef's original sketches of the dishes. It's a small touch that really reinforces how personal and considered the experience is. If you're looking for a unique, chef driven tasting experience that feels cohesive and well executed, this is absolutely worth a reservation.

3.5 Stars…read more After waiting nearly three months for Denver's hottest reservation, my group of four were underwhelmed by our dining experience. The Good: The food itself was lovely. Fantastic flavors. Beautiful plating. If basing our review on the food alone--five stars. The Bad: Despite having been in their space for months by now, the ambiance was not there. The staff kept turning on and off the food heat lamps, which were so bright that the light level in the entire space vacillated between dark and sultry to too brightly light all night. The temperature was absolutely arctic. Multiple groups had to ask for their coats from coat check before one of the waitstaff said he looked at the heating. He made adjustments, which did increase the temperature of the room from arctic to chilly--but it remained unacceptably cold. Pacing of courses was oddly timed. The waitstaff couldn't seem to strike a good balance between casual and fine dining--it was a little awkward at times. The Bad: Despite placing our wine flight orders twice, with two different waitstaff, they forgot to give us our drinks until we asked. By then, we'd missed two of the pairings. They did offer to serve us the remaining pairings at no cost, which was a nice gesture. But, it's wild that something like this happened in a place with 16 seats and 4 waitstaff--they missed out on $400 in alcohol sales because of this error. The meal was explained to our group as a "ten course" experience. We only received nine courses: 1. The venison "hamburger" 2. Cappuccino 3. Roasted apple 4. Crudo/sashimi 5. Scallop 6. Lobster 7. Venison skewer 8. Duck leg 9. Dessert This feels like an egregious oversight. And, based on what we overheard from the table next to us--almost felt deliberately misleading. The wine pairing is plainly described in the menu as "five pairings." As dessert was brought out, the table next to us inquired about the remaining pairings, as they'd only received 4 pairings up to that point. The waitstaff tried blaming it on the fact that "dessert wine is polarizing" and "we over poured the other pairings," but those are weak excuses. If you're not going to offer the full 5 pairing flight as advertised, that needs to be communicated ahead of time. Overall: With a price point, including wine flight (had that worked out), per person of nearly $325--The Guest had too many substantial misses. While the food may be ready for prime time, the service is leagues behind.
