Shout out to Jerry and Jon 39 & the whole team that had given me wonderful transportation!!! Right Arm

After a huge hailstorm broke out the front and back windows of my rental car, no other cars were available anywhere, also due to damage. I called for a cab and Jayson arrived earlier than expected and got me to my hotel. Could not have been nicer, offered to take me anywhere I needed to go while I was car-less. I would highly recommend this company, and will use them again anytime I'm in the area. Jayson made a lousy situation so much more pleasant! read more

Tommorrow, I will take the bus to do what I wanted to do today. ...One time, I am at the sams club on Campbell, after I was picked up, he drove toward the road dividing sams club and wal mart, then went back down to exit near where I was standing when I was picked up. They started my can fair at $5. Never have heard of a cab company adding this fee. I'll never use this company again. Why should I have to pay an extra $5 on top of my fair. ALSO I told the lady I was using cash and he wants to stop at a gas station so I can get change? OMG so messed up. read more

DO NOT RISK YOUR LIFE TRUSTING IN OPERATION OF ONE OF THEIR CABS, take uber or lift, trust me even if it's couple bucks more it's small price to pay for your life being safe! me experience with this company has all been bad from using them for rides and having extrmely long wait times on not just the ride to pick me up! but when u call being put on hold sometimes as long as 30 min! just to book a cab! and after one that long I can call right back using different number? theyll pick up right away! u ask if their busy and they'll say no not to bad, then u ask why it take so long to answer the phone to book? and they ll give you some half excuse. this is not way i say there drivers are not safe! or why ur life is in danger! it's because i was run over by a yellow cab over a year and a half ago, one of their drivers who owner hired directly himself. After making numerous attempts to contact him directly both managers first Amanda, but she was fired then through Denise, who the only time she called me back after probably 30 times of calling her is just to try to offer me an apology that was not sincere and just try to bribe me as a pay off of $500 for the cab, which ran me over, ran one step sign to do so, and then never slowed down after hitting me and ran the next to get away ! On reviews on Google, there's a guy that just reviewed one of their cabs for parking in his yard to go to the gas station next-door and reference to the incident where the cab ran me over and yellow cab responded to how sorry they was and how they continue to try to make safe environment for etc., and said that gentleman was fired. They did not fire him till a year and a half later when he was actually arrested by the Green office when they filed charges, it wasn't that they fired him. It was that he didn't but yellow cab trust take credit for firing them and they didn't fire him for that incident. He continue driving for a year and a half which they knew it was him because we told him and I went to the hospital from their headquarters on Benton off commercial in an ambulance after the cab hit and ran me over and they have taken zero accountability for it my property, which I was on a very expensive mountain bike when the guy ran me over! I have yet to hear anything from the owner of this company, I've asked for the insurance information, and the manager keeps giving me the runaround when she even actually takes my calls. Most of the time I have to to give him a bogus name for them to even let me talk to the manager and when I do, she tells me that she notified their attorney and that he'll be reaching out to me, but this is gone on for over a year and a half. no accountability being taken from yellow keep the dangerous driver on the road operating one of their cabs for another year and a half! Come on people that's not the kind of people we want driving cabs around Springfield little kids lives driving on guy was either high or not paying attention or by the way he drove up the alleyway ran the stop sign and then hit me and ran another. Stop sign to get away.! This cab company should be shut down. Do not trust them with your life. Their backgrounds are obviously BS because they would've never hired somebody who would be capable of something like this. I'm gonna continue to post on here in anywhere else with yellow cab is able to be reviewed to get the word out. Let people know as well as posted on other sites online and I'm the cab directly! read more

I've used this cab service 3 times. Never had a long wait like others state. The first two drivers were good drivers and extremely friendly. However, the 3rd time was it for me. My first and last time using Yellow Cab. I contacted Yellow Cab at 9pm to pick up my teenager from work at midnight. He works close to MSU campus, and the guy on the phone said that should be no problem. My son will have a ride at midnight. So, I told my son, and all was well. Midnight rolls around and no cab was there. The kids waited in the parking lot after closing, alone for 30 minutes before they decided to start walking. My son and his friend got to Price Cutter on St Louis St and National. A cab rolls into the parking lot and yells "are you _____? Supposed to be picked up at midnight? Sorry, I'm running late tonight." Then my son and friend got into the cab and came home. They were supposed to be home shortly after midnight, it was almost 1am. The next day, I called Yellow Cab to talk to them what happened, after I saw my charges. They charged me for 30 minute wait time, and put a tip on my card as well. I wanted to speak to someone, so they wouldn't charge me extra. My kids waited ON THEM, not the other way around. I was told a manager would call me back that day and make it right. No one called. I called the next day, I was told that management would call me back and make it right. No one called. I just called my bank and filled a dispute. If they had just spoke to me about it, if they had corrected the charge, I wouldn't have been so salty. But they did not. I will not use Yellow Cab again. read more

This company has always been horrible. The drivers are great. It's the company and the dispatchers that are awful. They shouldn't be allowed to treat the people who pay for their service, so terribly. Here's an array of things that have occurred during my many experiences. I've been on hold with the elevator music for a full hour. So long that I put the phone on speaker so that I could try to accomplish something while waiting. When the dispatcher finally answered, and I said "hello" loud and clear, he pretended he couldn't hear me and then hung up on me. So I had to turn around and call again to listen to the horrible elevator music for another half hour before my call was answered. That circumstance has happened several times. The wait time is never accurate. They'll tell you it's a 15 to 30 minutes wait, and then they'll show up an hour and 15 minutes later so that you're late for work. The driver that day told me she was very confused why the dispatcher had sent her out to a different call before sending her to mine, because she had actually been closer to my location to begin with. So the dispatcher prioritized a different call and made me late for work. They've frequently made me late for work. Sometimes they'll tell you it's a 45 minute wait and then the driver arrives after only 10 minutes, so you can't be prepared quickly enough. One time, during the summer, I called while shopping at Wal-Mart. I called well in advance to being ready to leave. They told me it would be a 1 hour wait. I said no problem, as I planned to shop and then check out and it would time out perfectly. They showed up two hours later. I had been sitting outside waiting, with melting groceries, for a full hour longer than the original 1 hour wait time. I've had many, many experiences with the dispatcher being rude on the phone, or intentionally sabotaging my ride or the time frames. 3 different occasions, I've called, and the phone rang 1 time, and then immediately hung up. I would call numerous times trying to get through, for it to ring once and then hang up on me. Tonight, I finally asked a dispatcher why this might happen. She told me that the dispatchers control this. She said when they're really busy and need to catch up, they'll set the phones to where only certain numbers can call in, while "callers who've had no shows or missed rides will not be able to get through". So they have intentionally prioritized certain customers over others, and set the system to not allow certain people (like myself) to be able to get through. So the times I've called and the phone rang once and hung up? That was done to me on purpose. I've been fed up with the exceptionally long wait times, listening to elevator music for ungodly amounts of time before getting through, being left to wait twice as long as I was told, being made late to work, and rude dispatchers. But finding out that I've been set to not be able to even get a call through, as a paying customer? I'm done being abused by this horrible excuse for a cab service read more

I am very disappointed in yellow cab they tell you one day something then the next day all of a sudden there rules have changed thanks a lot for making my husband walk home 4 miles after thinking he was getting a cab ride home. I got doubled charged! If u use a card they take $20 dollars off ur card when u first get in but they did not take the $20 off of the total and instead ran my card for another $20 after I asked twice what my total was and was told it was $26. Sounds like the drivers have come up with a scheme to pad their own pockets by double charging for the ride! I will be calling yellow cab and getting my money back for be doubled charged. Cab 58.... Drive to airport was on time and friendly but I think they took the most indirect route to get there. Return trip: not a single taxi at the airport. I was Cold and tired and waited over an hour for a ride. Their link to see the driver's location didn't work. They gave me one driver and switched to another driver after I called. They first told me it would be another 15 minutes, but then my link changed and showed another driver with about a 20 min drive. However I do have to say that the driver I ended up with was great and got me home quickly after he arrived at the airport. I, however, will never use the service again. Uber may cost more but my time is valuable especially after an international and national flight. read more

No wonder yellow cab only has 1.5 stars. It's 1:30 in the morning and cab number 15 pulls into my neighbors driveway, which is near my bedroom window, and honks his horn. Eventually, he gets out of his vehicle with a flashlight and starts looking in the car windows and then the side window of my neighbors house. He eventually makes his way to the porch and knocks on the door. His customer soon emerges and after a very brief word or two, they leave. Why couldn't this jerk just knock on the door in the first place. It's 1:30 in the morning and he has absolutely no courtesy for people who are trying to sleep. I have nothing positive to say about any yellow cab driver, as I have never had a reason to. Unfortunate. read more

Heretofore, I provide a couple of highly laudatory reviews because frankly, at the time, they were well-deserved. The events, however, of last night were the diametrical opposite of the former pleasant experiences, and if I could give this cab company a zero or below - I would quickly do so. I am an older person, handicapped, and must rely upon public transportation to get my groceries. I had to wait in the heat, began to feel ill, and called up to cancel for another day (because they feature prominently the warning that any results of being sick in their cab will cost you "between $50 and $10 to clean up (and I am on SSI, which BELOW poverty level.) They put me off, and told me the driver would be there (took another 10 minutes), and I made it to the grocery store. I stayed about two hours, and my grocery receipt indicates that I checked out at 4:14 p.m. The grocery staff (who are very kind) offered to call me a taxi, and as I recall, I waited until about 4:45 p.m. to call and ask if my taxi were on the way. The messages I received were somewhat garbled (poor transmission, because the grocery store is near the country?), but I was told that they had "so many people calling," and essentially I would have to wait in line. (Bear in mind that the 4-5 p.m. hours have a lower rate of traffic than the higher peak hours earlier.) I kept calling at half-hour intervals (I had perishable foods that were starting to melt), and was finally told something about an "automatic (or automated) dispatcher" that dispatched the calls as they received then, and that "there were 40 people ahead of me in line." (Really? The people in the store told me that there was no convention in town, and seemed mystified by this peculiar remark.) Pretty soon, the staff at the grocery store rallied to my defense (they thought that it was shameful that I was being treated this way, and began to call for me. Somebody suggested that I call the police, and the operator there called the cab service, who claimed that I was apparently at the "top of the list," and "may take another half hour." Finally, at 7:00 p.m. - more than 2-1/2 hours since I had checked out - a kindly lady took pity on me, and drove out of her way to drive me home, and help place my groceries on the porch so that I could take them inside. (I thank her profusely for her kindness.) I can only surmise the reason for this nasty, unspeakable treatment on the part of Yellow Cab was the fact that I wanted to cancel the trip earlier, so they had to "punish" me in this childish fashion by making me wait so long. Not only did they break the Golden Rule of customer service - "Meet, or exceed, the customer's expectations," - they also managed to alienate numerous other people in the store besides the store personnel. Many people came over to me to ask what was happening and I told them. One woman said, indignantly: "I'll NEVER take Yellow Cab if this is the way they treat our seniors, and I'm going to tell ALL my friends about it, too, so that their older relatives will stay away from that company!" This one, ugly little performance directed against a defenseless individual my have cost you plenty - but nobody thought about that when they were seeking to make MY life unpleasant. I'm am also reporting my unhappy experience to the charitable group who provided me with one free cab ride per month to buy my groceries and ask them to be careful in using the company again. (I actually was sick when returned home, thanks to all the stress, but after a good night's sleep I am much better. However, had I been someone with a heart condition, or was prone to strokes - the outcome may have been less pleasant. (And my older sister in New York, who is a nurse, knew about because I spoke to her about, twice, over my cell phone about the taxi cab that never came.) Good customer service is cardinal to maintaining a successful business, and the loyalty of people who become regular, satisfied customers. But just one fateful divergence from this scenario (for whatever reason), and you can lose the faith and the loyalty of a dedicated customer. Those witnessing the scene (an older, handicapped woman sitting wearily with a cart full of groceries - and no sign of the promised cab - makes a TERRIBLE impression on the viewers, who of course, will convey it to others. Needless to say, I am though - permanently - with Yellow Cab company in Springfield, and I sincerely hope that any other people who use their services do not receive the same shabby, neglectful treatment that I received, one hot day (and evening) in Springfield, Missouri in early September 2018... read more

I wish I could give them less than one star. We called the night before to have a cab pick us up at 6:45 in the morning. After calling twice with no answer, a third call got them to finally pick up. Then they told us there were no cabs in our area. We live in suburban southeast Springfield. Then they told us there are no guarantees even if you call the night before. We have had inclement weather lately and although I normally use Springfield's transit system, occasionally(when I shop and cannot carry large amounts home) will call a cab. On Tuesday(12/10/2013) I called Yellow Cab approximately 3:30 PM from the Dillons at St Louis & National. The woman who answered the phone was rude and that was only the beginning. I am retired military 75 years of age in relatively good condition but several years ago was struck by a young person making a left hand turn who "did not see me". He had a cell phone in his hand and I was already in the middle lane of 5 at a cross walk(no other traffic). Broken left ankle and left wrist. It sometimes comes back to haunt me. I was wearing a walking boot. I waited outside with my groceries for approximately an hour(in pain). No apology, no explanation. Walleye read more

I've had 3 occasions in the past 3 weeks to use Yellow. On one occassion, I used their app and booked 1 hr 55 min before I needed them. The app said wait time was 15 minutes, so there was plenty of time. They didn't even show until 20 minutes after the booking time and that required a phone call once they were late. The guy on the phone said I should have booked earlier. On another occasion, I used their text service. They never showed up. After waiting 45 minutes at the grocery store, a friend of mine who happened to be shopping while I was waiting, gave me a ride home. On the third occasion, after receiving notification that a taxi was dispatched, I watched the car's progress on their locator app. The app very clearly showed the driver stopping at McDonald's for a while instead of coming to pick me up. When I called to complain and ask for another driver who would actually come and get me, the dispatcher refused. I am done with Yellow Cab. I much prefer Red Taxi or Royal Taxi in Springfield. read more
