Absolutely ABYSMAL. I have never seen such an arrogantly incompetent ownership/management team IN MY LIFE. You pay full price to get into a two hour window of skating, they don't tell you when you pay if you are 5 minutes into that window or an hour and forty five minutes into that window. You would think they would say, "oh, you know you only have 20 minutes left to skate, right?" Nope. They'll take your money and blame you for the confusion. Then when you finally get out to skate, they clear the floor every couple of songs in order to play some stupid game that almost nobody wants to play. THEN they kick all the kids off the floor so that only adults can skate the last song that THEN opens the floor up for the next hour to ONLY adults. I swear, I have land, money, time and now desire to open up a skate park that is actually nice and doesn't have owners that are trying to fund their retirement and their grandkids retirement off the backs of their skaters, which really wouldn't be THAT bad if they offered a beautiful place to skate. I've only had this fire lit under me two other times in this life but I've accomplished my goals both of the other times and this time I am going to start tomorrow on working on this. I want this place out of business or completely reformed by the end of summer. They have become complacent by being the only place here in Springfield. I am going to change that. This place reset their hours during Covid, they crapped over their customers because they can. I aim to change that. I am SHOCKED at the ineptitude being practiced at this place. I've only ever been here during Adult Skate Night, which happens once a month. It's late night, a great deal, and I don't have to worry about running into or falling over on a small child. I also have started bringing my own skates. However, if you don't have your own, roller skates are included in your entry fee, but roller blades are an extra cost. They recently redid the rink during COVID, so the wood floors are nice and smooth now! They have arcade games, a mini cafe with snacks and concession foods. There are also lockers that you can rent for a quarter to put your shoes and keys in while you skate. It is definitely a mom and pop kinda feel, family owned and run. Pre COVID, there was one adult skate night where they handed out cupcakes for the owners birthday. Another time we showed up to skate for the last half hour and the lady at the front counter gave us a discount since there was only a little time left to skate. I don't ever expect this to happen again, but it was a kind gesture that you really only get with locally owned places. My one complaint is that they play the same 90s rap music during Adult Skate Night. I wish they would mix it up. However, I'm so glad there is a skate rink still open and operating in Springfield. read more

Springfield Skateland - Skating Rinks Near Me - Springfield, Missouri

My girlfriend and I visited this rink on a Wednesday for their 1-3 skate. There were a lot of families and children which is to be expected of a summer weekday. I will preface the rest of my comment with this; I am a proficient skater, and have now visited numerous rinks in several states. It seems like people in this area do not care for skating anymore. The average cost of admission for the other rinks I've visited is $7. Skateland also charges $7, but unlike EVERY other rink; they also charge $3 to rent inline skates. This wouldn't be egregious, if it weren't for the fact that these inline skates are the worst I've ever rented, AND they do not have any brakes. Every rink also employs the pvc tube angle things for children who are new skaters. Again, like EVERY rink I've ever been to, this one charges $4 to rent them. This creates hesitance to use them, and I saw NONE on the skate floor. As a result, there were young children, poor skaters, hanging on to the walls of the rink, falling OFTEN. For a new-to-skating child coming to this rink, the cost of having fun is $14. Twice what you pay anywhere else. And for that $14, you get an hour and 45 minutes of skating, before they close the floor for the sock dance. This is half the time that $7 buys you in my hometown, and that price includes quality inline skates, and access to the pvc supports. Also, skateland charges anyone who enters $7, even if they don't plan to skate. This place wouldn't be worth it if it were the only skating rink in the state. It's like a tourist trap that offers no fun, only the extra cost. Springfield has so much more to offer, if you want to have fun here, DO NOT GO TO SKATELAND. read more

Great place to go. Seems largely family run and operated. I started taking my son to their roller hockey classes a long time ago. Show up a little before 5:30 (not to early, they open for this) walk through the normal entrance and by pass the ticket window. You will pay $5 at the skate rental counter for the class. It's from 5:30-7 and ran extremely well. The coaches are kid friendly and they do a great job splitting up age groups and skill levels. Afterwards the child can stay as skate for free during family skate night. 7-9 every Wednesday. If you want to skate it's $3! Super cheap! The league they offer for hockey is super affordable as well. If your child needs gear they have stuff to borrow. If you play ice hockey. Leave the hockey pants and shoulder pads at home and bring the rest of your gear. Birthday party's are very affordable here as well. Best price I could find for my sons party also by far one of the most fun places I have seen to have a party for children. The only place I seen comparable fun wise for a party was Andy Bs and the price was several times higher. We come here and skate a lot too. Often times having dinner here on Wednesday between the hockey practice and public skate. The food is really good and priced really well too. I've seen signs they offer Zumba classes but know nothing about it. Overall it's a great place to go. Whatever your reason. Once you do you may find yourself becoming a regular like many of the other patrons. read more

I took my kids here for the first time this past week. I was over charged at the concession stand and was lied to about it. When I brought it up, I was told another lie. Love this place! Love everything about this place and great snack bar! Big soft pretzel was yummy. Nachos take me back to my childhood:). So happy this business survived the pandemic. I have been coming for years, as a child as well as skating with Queen City and Springfield Roller derby teams. Also there is a speed skating league for this kiddos. Adult skate night is really the best thing goin the dj play all the sauce & keep the crowd moving. The DJ that played last Saturday is better than every DJ downtown including Zan, boogie, & the rest of them places. Everybody was having a good time & there was no drama. Adult skate night should be longer in my opinion but regardless it's a really good time. Gotta get there early because the parking lot gets full ASAP. My family and I went to Skateland last night for family night. Family night is every Wednesday from 7pm-9pm and is $3 a person which included skate rental! We are a large family of ten so being able to spend time together can get expensive very quickly. We had a great time and for a reasonable price. It wasn't very crowded and my children got to work on getting better at skating without getting ran over. The lockers where easily accessible and only cost $0.25 to use. Plus skating was great exercise! Also at the end after you turn in your skates they do a sock hop on the floor. They play a few songs and let everyone dance which my kids also really enjoyed. We had an amazing time and will be back next Wednesday to spend some quality time together again. read more

I sure hope whoever stole 7 1/2 all black vans really enjoys them from skateland. Also the wife of the owner was extremely rude saying the lockers are ONLY just 25 cents and it's our fault. Okay????? No one told us bout the lockers and I've never used them. Kaylee hasn't been there before. And we are decent human beings and wouldn't be stealing some shoes. Great roller rink and fun cheap arcade games! However I'm a little concerned that the manager wouldn't give my daughter a skate-mate. She's not good at skating and wasn't able to have a fun time because of this. Seems a bit ridiculous that I paid $7 for her ticket and she couldn't even enjoy herself. Icee was delicious. Great place to go have fun! My husband and I went here on a very rare date night, not knowing what to expect. We were super surprised at how cheap it was to get in and how awesome it was! Had an old time feel, like you are in a skating rink in the 70's. Everyone was so friendly and everyone was having an awesome time. We happened upon this place on adult skate night which is every first Saturday of the month, which is awesome! We will definitely be taking our kids sometime soon! read more

I'm rating the Zumba classes offered on Mondays and Fridays. I absolutely live going to them with my 5 year old. Unlike other kids that lay low for the hour duration, my son dances along and keeps up (as much as possible) to the great music. It's $3 to dance, and their is a very welcoming feeling ;) read more

Ok I just have to say the Zumba classes offered at Skateland are absolutely the best in the Springfield . I would recommend anybody who's wanting a fun way to workout to try it . They have classes Monday night at 7pm , Tuesday nights 8:15pm and Friday nights at 6 pm. read more
