I have never seen such a beautiful area covered up by so much ugliness. On top of everything being over priced they have very high sales taxes. Part of the taxes go for beautification of Branson. What do they do with the money?? The boardwalk and lake front are full of weeds, leaves and trash. I'm not talking a little a little bit, everything from diapers to beer cans to what ever ends up there. I even saw a city employee using a scoop shovel to throw the garbage and leaves off of the service road into the lake. they rest of the landing and downtown are not much better. Branson is in the southwestern portion of Missouri. If you're interested in seeing any type of musical show...Branson is the place to be!! For the 2 and a half days I was there...I saw a show every day. They're musical/broadway shows. I hate to say it's like a "poor man's" version of NYC broadway shows...but the entertainment reminded me of like, cruise type shows. And, for me...there's nothing wrong with that. I just think I'm a little jaded having grown up in NY and having seen shows like Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera. But Branson is such a cool town regardless. The first day my father and I visited...they were having a free concert in the middle of town. The Platters, an old Motown musical group came on stage and sang "Great Pretender"! I absolutely love that song and my father grew up to Motown music so we were very happy. From there we bought concert tickets to a Motown show, and did a 50's themed musical show as well. There's other things to do in Branson as well for families. There's a replica Titanic cruise ship which you can tour. They have a Hollywood museum to explore. An American Bandstand musical theater. You can ride the Branson scenic railroad which is located in the heart of town. And you can walk around central/downtown Branson to buy souvenirs, trinkets, and t-shirts to take home. Downtown Branson has a quaint/small town type feeling and it was fun to explore the streets. The city of Branson reminded me of Gatlinberg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee...if anyone has ever visited those cities, I think you'd find similarities in all of them. Overall, I really enjoyed my time in Branson. The shows/concerts I saw were entertaining and truly brought out the real feel of what Branson, Missouri is all about. I would recommend visiting for a few days. My father and I drove from Memphis on a 3 city tour. But Branson has an airport which you can fly into. Branson, Branson, Branson. I want to use the words from a song to tell you how I feel. "Before you came into my life I missed you so bad, and you should know that!" I went here blind, almost no one I know had been here, and there was very little I could find on Yelp or TripAdvisor to guide me. We said to ourselves "Well, we'll do it the old fashion way and let the locals guide us". What was so amazing was the number of people we met while on our first week of vacation in Dallas who knew Branson and gave us useful recommendations. I feel blessed, I really do. I couldn't have scripted our stay any better than it happened. The Ozarks are small mountains, more like hills... but I've never seen mountains with huge swaths of grass like these before. I found myself staring into the distances just imagining life with a modest home and fields of land for my family to live, run, play and enjoy. This was a fantastic experience, one we will not forget for a long, long time. There was so much more here than I expected, and the beauty was we could do everything or relax and do very little and would have been satisfied either way. Silver Dollar City & Marvel Cave were unexpected delights and so were the shows. We had such a good time and can't wait to return to see more performances! I am really looking forward to seeing the acappella band Six. They have been the number one show for several years. The band performs with absolutely no instruments! Nothing was inappropriate, everything was kid friendly and reasonably priced and best of all... the food here is GOOD! I can't express enough how much I enjoyed everything we experienced here and eagerly anticipate returning. 13 hours is a long and strenuous drive from Atlanta, but Branson, you're totally worth the trip. The Branson area is beautiful located in the Ozark Mts. The shops are pretty cool and the locals are friendly. The traffic though is extremely bad. The city need to use some of tourist money and upgrade the infrastructure. I quickly learned the surrounding highways and was able to drive around the town and then dive in where I needed. They do have a free trolley running around town, but it stops at 6pm, kinda of early for a tourist spot. We tried to jump on but it was 5:45 and the driver shut early. The ugly thing is they are ripping up every square inch to build condos, destroying the beautiful landscape and rolling mountains. read more

There all different of things do in Branson, TANEY COUNTY MISSOURI! Lake Taneycomo, is for the Taney County then think the MO is abbreviation for state Missouri! Missouri is the Show Me State! All different musical performers! Christmas time, my situation was December 2001, at one point in the shows the performers ask the children come on the stage with them! Can sing and dance with the performers! Hey this 2001, way before I had major injury May 27, 2005, so yes I sing and dance with the performers! After, they ask the parents or tour leaders (I Was With Tour Group) to stand so the children can find their seats with the respective groups! They give cookies and candy canes! I not eat candy, gum, something call lickorice, I give those to others in Tour Group, eat the cookies in the room for later! As Jim Stafford in his show sings, "Here I am in Branson, picking in my own show!" Another performer, someone in audience ask why he chose of Branson over Las Vegas! Him, "Branson is more family oriented, Las Vegas just for adult entertainment!" He right, I my own will never go anywhere in SILVER STATE, that Nevada or not to New Orleans in PELICAN STATE, they not child friendly! However, I always enjoy Branson! I listed my house for sell with Jon Hulsizer and Catherine Lovingston with| CENTURY 21 Integrity. I live out in CA and depended on their integrity. They had a maid service and handy man that they work with and arranged for work and cleaning on he house. After a few week, Catherine tells me that the house needs $10,000 in repairs and is not move in ready, but she has a buyer if I dropped the price by that amount and I said no, not willing to give up 10K. So the home didn't sell and Catherine kept pushing to drop and sell to her buyer. I then decided to come to Branson, well when I got there I discovered that they charged me $300 for cleaning and had not cleaned the house at all. they charged me $200 for some repairs and never completed the said repair. As for the $10k in repair needing was an out right lie, I can only assume she had a friend she was trying to get the house discounted for. I Took picture and went to their office and Jon backed them whole heartedly, so much to the point when I showed him the pictures of the charged repair that were not done and the dirty house that I paid $300 maid services for that was not cleaned. Jon says to me get out of my office before I call the police. To protect the theft of fund and fraudulently trying to get a house discounted to sell, he was threating to have me arrested. The nerve they still my money and want to have me arrested. I have pictures and invoices to show the work that they charged for and didn't complete. Worst vacation ever. Let me tell you why. The traffic is awful. The shows are not good and the theaters smell like a combination of mildew and depends. That may be because it's mostly an old crowd. The great scenery that once was Branson has been replaced by Wal mart types and outlet malls. The beautiful hills have been destroyed, chopped off and paved. The shopping is mostly tourist junk made in china. We didn't feel very safe either. Confederate flags fly everywhere. No diversity. We will never go back. Will go to Dollywood and the Smokies instead. read more
