Maybe it's just me, but The Haygoods weren't really a wow show. I'm not very musical, so take this with a grain of salt, but I've enjoyed other Branson shows much more. They definitely have a lot of lights, energy, and the voices are great -- no question there. I just didn't really connect with the show the way others seem to. People kept saying it was a "must-see," so I went... and honestly, for me, it was just okay. If you love high-energy performances with tons of lights and effects, you might enjoy it. But if you're looking for something more heartfelt or traditional, I'd probably skip it and go to another show instead. read more

Let me preface this review by saying that I have seen exactly 2 other shows in my lifetime in Branson. David was the first and it was simply amazing. No other show I've ever seen on or off Broadway compared to it. The other show was SIX. A total a cappella five brother group that was extremely talented. So now we go to the Haygood's. 5 brothers and 1 sister. Want a talented family!! it seemed that every sibling could play just about any instrument as well as sing. Obviously, there were some siblings that were more talented, both vocally, and with their instrument.. they all played multiple instruments and sang as well! No, I'm not going to name names. They compete with each other enough as it is. They had an amazing amount of energy as well as talent, and it showed For the most part, the entire show was very high-tech. Lots of pyrotechnics and lasers and lights. And while I understand the need and reason behind the special effects, there was one spot in the second half. "The flying robot" was just overblown in my opinion. I think it overshadowed the talent. Still, it was an amazing part of the show Absolutely LOVED the gospel part!! Do more. Make a second show for just GOSPEL! I'd love to be at that first show. Wow - what a show! We've been coming to Branson since 2008. We love going to shows. Not sure why it took us 17 years to make it to the Haywood show but we are so glad we made it. We arrived about 30 minutes before showtime and the parking lot was nearly full. We parked in back, at the bottom of the hill up against the trees. When we got into the lobby, we got in the concession line. Concessions here are a bit awkward as the lines for it, impede access to the theater for those coming and going. We got our snacks and were escorted to our seats. We were really close - maybe 8 to 10 rows back, near the center. The pre-show was fun and lasted about 15 minutes or show. The main show opened with much fanfare. The show had so much going on, from music to lights to other effects. It's hard to describe other than to say it was high energy with high talent and high production value. We thoroughly enjoyed the show. It was also family friendly but be careful with small children that may be afraid of flashing lights, mild pyrotechnics and loud music. We also had a fun treat as right in front of us was Merrill Osmond of the Osmonds with his wife and a few others. He was introduced about halfway into the show and he got mobbed at intermission. The Haygoods were absolutely phenomenal. Their talent is technical, innovative, and borderline unfair to the rest of us mere mortals. How can one family possibly have all that talent? Singing, banjos, pianos, guitars, saxophones, harmonicas, tap dancing, a harp -- I'm convinced they could make a brick sound good. They even invented their own musical contraption so three of them can play at once -- acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and harp all built into one wild machine. Because apparently "normal instruments" weren't enough of a challenge. There's a driving recliner. Someone literally dances on the ceiling. A clothes dryer becomes a percussion instrument. I half expected one of them to start juggling flaming violins just to prove a point (please don't take this as a challenge Michael, I don't want to read about you on TMZ) . Bottom line: Don't miss this show. It's equal parts spectacle, family reunion, and "what did I just witness?" in the best possible way. And to top it all off they're so genuinely humble about it all, they hang around after to take pics & shake hands with the audience. read more

There's a reason this show is #1 in Branson and they've been there 30 something years... None of them look like they could have been performing in Branson for 30+ years and they have wayyyyyyy more energy than ought to be possible. I've only seen them this one show, but I know that they change it up and keep it relevant because my parents just saw them last year and they saw new content. First trip to Branson and the first show I saw. Supposedly it's the "best" one in town and I can confirm it is after seeing 4 other shows. Very talented and highest production caliber. But honestly, if you're from a big city or have been to Vegas and are used to top name arena performances or shows at or near the caliber of Vegas' top shows, all Branson shows are relatively cheesy albeit on-target for the majority of the audience demographic so I "get it." The fact they basically pause and push DVD sales is slightly offputting and somewhat funny but then you realize there may be older people and those in more rural America that still use DVD players and the souvenir sales helps keep ticket prices reasonable I would imagine. You do get a link to an online version of the video as I personally would just toss the DVDs in the garbage. Like most of the other shows in Branson they weave in both a nod to Veterans and a Christian religious slant. The former is going to be ubiquitously acceptable to any American citizen whereas the latter, while it may hit well with the majority of their audience, is essentially being a bit exclusive and disregarding America is now a melting pot with many religions and Agnostics like myself. I can tell they have carefully tweaked their shows as to appease the Christians while keeping it toned down enough to minimize the number of patrons that might find it non-inclusive and offensive. No wine/beer/cocktail availability as is the case for most if not all shows in the area which I personally don't think should be a requirement to be called a "Family Show" and is also a bit ironic considering there is no open container law so controls regarding alcohol consumption is generally relaxed for the area. They are leaving a lot of extra profit on the table but that's fine by me. Highly recommended to put in your top 3 shows to see especially for Senior Citizens or families with young (pre teen) children but enjoyable to varying degrees for all ages. read more

What a wonderful show! We carefully researched which one live show we wanted to see while visiting Branson for the first time. This one kept coming up as a must-see, and it did not disappoint. This family is so talented and engaging, and our group of 10 (including one hard to please 13 year old) loved it all. If you want really good seats, I highly recommend planning in advance. We bought our tickets last minute just before they sold out and ended up in the last row. Thankfully, we could still see pretty much everything. Traveling to visit family and this show does not disappoint. Love this family show. Easy to find parking, as you are directed, a guy in a golf cart assisted us in getting to the front door. Yes, there is a crowd, that's an excellent indicator that it will be a good show! Our tickets were front row on the balcony - perfect to view everything. Yes it was a narrow entry, but good place to view all the action, singing, playing and theatrics! This is a lively show. Typical intermission. I love the dedication to family and to the military. Love our veterans and those that serve. The Heygood's are such a force - they can sure play multiple instruments and sing a wide range of songs! Country, to rock and roll! One of my favorites was when Catherine played the harp! She was so entertaining and has a presence. What was even more fascinating was on another number when her brothers joined her and one plucked and two used their bows to play - 4 playing on the harp during 1 song! Quite the trick and done very well. Well worth it to go back. They change the show throughout the year. Have been wanting to see the Haygoods for sooooi long... like 11 years! Finally had the opportunity to see them last night, they did not disappoint!! My husband only knew of them because of me, but he enjoyed the show so much he said "I would come back and see them every time we are here in Branson!" There is a part of the show where they do tap dancing (not your normal tap dancing either) and my husband really enjoyed that part! You could bring everyone, from Grandma to grand babies! We were shockingly surprised by how absolutely amazing this show was. The effects, talents and more of this family is never ending my favorite part was the harp. My least favorite part was the tap dancing. I am sad the kids didn't come out and sing but with an 8:00 show, I'm not surprised. Very fully of energy and you definitely didn't realize how long it lasted (except when I started checking my watch during the tap dancing). Now the negatives-which had absolutely nothing to do with the Haygood's. First, why the need for parking attendants? Parking would have moved much more fluidly had they not been screwing up traffic. I didn't want to park my car in the middle of the lot and apparently it wasn't acceptable to park at the very back, by myself. We got our tickets fine but the concession/entrance lines were awful and disorganized. The concession lines go right across the entrance and the entry lines go right through that. If they didn't stop the whole process with pictures and hand holding, it would have flowed a lot better. Sadly, the location and issues entering would nearly keep me from going back. It made for such an awful start that I was sour before the show even started. I would definitely pay to see them anywhere else again. read more

This truly is the most amazing show in Branson! All of the shows advertise that they are the best but this one really is. The excitement level is right up there! This is a family show which includes music from many decades as well as talented tap dancing, comedy, and pyrotechnics. You won't see any magic but you will hear endearing family stories of growing up in the Ozarks. From the opening of the show with the zip line entrance of a guitar solo to the ending salute to our troops, it was family entertainment at its best.
