A few things to know before you go: Gro-Moore is cash only, but there is an ATM on-site. Be sure to bring your own containers, or you can purchase one there. When you arrive, there's a farm stand at the front that sells pre-picked strawberries for $8.50 per quart. From there, you'll drive down a bumpy gravel road to a large parking area. After checking in and either purchasing a container or showing the one you brought, you'll be directed to a specific row for picking. A worker will tell you where to start, which is marked by a flag left by the previous picker who finished that section. Picking strawberries can be labor-intensive since you'll be crouched low to the ground, but it's well worth the effort. Once you're done, you head back to pay. I filled a huge container for just $10. The strawberries were incredibly sweet, juicy, and bright red. I'll definitely be back next year! Their Facebook page is kept very up to date with current picking conditions and information. This year, there was even an ice cream truck on-site, which was a huge hit with the kids.

We saw ducks and chickens loving all their festival snacks... we continue to the back area where we walked right into the field with so many pigs! They we're having the time of their life. Sticking their heads into pumpkins and eating them. I've never seen pigs up so close, they were so friendly and honestly could of cared less we were there. I was surprised how soft they were and allowed us to pet them. Next we went further back and met the Scottish highland cows, so stunning. Fabio with his gorgeous hair... accurately named. The sandwich was amazing. Seems like you can't mess up a BLT but trust me I have been to places they were awful. There is a difference in quality of the bacon and can understand why it's priced accordingly. I was in a wedding there this past weekend and everything went so smoothly. The getting ready areas were very fun (the men got ready in the Firehouse toom and the girls got ready in the Marilyn Monroe room). The only issues we had were that the lighting was too dim for getting ready - we remembered to bring a separate makeup mirror with bright lighting options which saved us. The outlets were also difficult to find. It was a very cool and unique space to get ready in and the men were set up with a pool table in theirs. The wedding photos are not in yet but I just know that they are going to look phenomenal. We took photos in many different places around the venue (its huge) and I can't wait to see how they came out. Definitely more unique than youd typically expect for wedding photos! The bride had a positive experience with staff in getting everything ready and organized leading up the big day. Everything went as planned and it looked beautiful. Some exhibit pieces were in the way during the ceremony and they made arrangements to move them to make more space. The only issue we ran into was the heat. The AC was on but I dont think it was directed into the getting ready spaces, and when there were large groups of people around in the main room it was still too warm. Not a deal breaker but something to consider if being too warm on your wedding day is a concern for you.
