AWFUL. I booked an appointment with Dr. Maldonado as she is on the menopause provider list months ago -- my appointment is now less than a month away. As many women are experiencing, I've gotten the runaround from traditional GYNs and my life is unraveling due to perimenopause. I get a text message this AM that my appointment has been rescheduled with an NP at a different time. I booked a nationally renowned menopause expert and they wanted to shuffle me off to a nurse practitioner. I called the office and there is no availability except for one time in the middle of the day and the doctor's calendar is unavailable for March as of yet. "Nothing we can do." I have been going here for 3 years and my experiences were normal but my last visit was very disappointing, therefore I will not return here. I went in for a routine annual exam. It had been 3 years since my last pap smear, so I was due for one. The doctor told me I already had one last year. I told her no I didn't and I am due for one. She said no I already had one. I asked her if she could please double check the records and she said she checked them right before coming in. She didn't re-check them after I asked her to and wouldn't give me a pap smear. Later I called the office and they confirmed that my last pap smear was 3 years ago, so now I am overdue. It's frustrating that I am just trying to get a basic check up and she wouldn't even double check the records after I very politely told her I hadn't had a pap smear in 3 years, and asked her to double check. On top of that, I was charged $50 for an extra office visit. I called the office and they said if I discuss certain topics in the visit then that counts as a separate visit. This is ridiculous. I was only in there for 5 mins and my annual exam is covered by insurance but they charged me for a second exam. How am I supposed to know which questions are part of an annual exam and which questions count as a separate visit? This is very frustrating and seems fraudulent. How can I be charged for two visits when I only had one? Also why wasn't I informed that I would be charged? Due to these two issues, I will not return to this practice and would not recommend it to anyone. read more

Called yesterday morning for a follow up with my doctor. Called at 8am, I figured 30 minutes for them to settle in is enough time... the phone gets picked up... no hi no good morning just a sudden please hold "click!". I can tell by her voice she was a younger Filipina. So I took my second phone and called and someone else picked up (older Filipina) and said good morning and answered my questions. This medical office claims to be a safe space for women who have been through trauma, but it is not. Stay away. They are disorganized to the point of medical negligence. After taking months to schedule an IUD insertion under sedation, and being told a specific one would be a lot safer for my health, I experienced complications weeks later only to discover that they incorrectly inserted a completely different IUD without my consent. As someone who already suffered trauma from medical providers, having something done to my body without my consent is a huge violation. The only solutions offered by the doctor would still involve her financially benefiting by billing my insurance and with huge out of pocket fees on my end. See the letter below which I sent to the New York State Office of Medical Misconduct regarding Spring OB/GYN and DR. DANIELLE FELDMAN. On March 25, 2025, I had an appointment with Dr. Danielle Feldman at 10:15 AM. I left feeling outraged and disgusted by the care I received, so much so that I returned to your office shortly after to speak with your office manager, Christine. After reading reviews of your practice, it is clear that the standard of care provided falls far short, and your team lacks the training necessary to conduct meaningful, patient-centered appointments. I made an effort to make my medical records available to you, and when I inquired about you receiving them, your response was simply one of disinterest "I'll have to dig deep for those", hence you were ill-prepared for your interface with me, a new patient. Dr. Feldman's appointment with me lasted until 10:21 am and was 7 minutes long. During this brief time, she performed a pap smear without any warning. She was rude, unfriendly, and, frankly, seemed uninterested in addressing my concerns or answering my questions. In an annual exam with a new provider, it is standard practice for the clinician to inquire about your intimate history. Instead, Dr. Feldman simply asked if I needed STD testing, without even asking if I am in a committed relationship or married. I had to offer that information without it being prompted. Dr. Feldman, you were a poor physician today. You left a young woman, who came prepared with questions and concerns, feeling dismissed and angry. A first-year medical student would have conducted this annual visit more competently than you did. To tell a patient that you "didn't want to go 'looking for problems' or 'creating problems'" was not only insulting but also unprofessional. Additionally, your office is violating HIPAA regulations. From the patient room, I overheard conversations, including patient names and negative comments about patients coming in that day. Dr. Feldman did not use the sound machine until arriving in the room, and when I mentioned hearing the conversations, she remarked, "That's New York real estate!" This response was dismissive and troubling. This is a serious HIPAA violation. I am deeply unsettled by the example Dr.Feldman has set for best and future women and girls to come into her care. While it's highly unlikely, I hope you will take this feedback seriously and begin to make changes to how you treat patients, ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve. The staff at the front desk could be friendlier and more helpful when calling to make an appointment. I unfortunately have to edit my review as the front desk is unprofessional. Hung up on me. I have given birth twice with Spring OB / NYU and both times have run into some rude staff at the front desk, as well as some dismissive or rude doctors. My first time around was ok, during the labor I had difficulty breathing which I later found out was caused by a cardiac issue, thus laying on my back did not help me labor well as breathing was difficult. I vomited, and felt sick and complained about the breathing difficulties and received a lot of eye rolls and comments from both residents and doctors. It is a teaching hospital and I understand residents must learn somewhere, but I distinctly remember one male resident rolling his eyes and shaking my head when I complained and felt horrible during my labor process! My second I gave birth to in 2020 during Covid, I coughed during labor which I told them was due to me having cardiac issues which impair my breathing. They however insisted I get a Covid test and meanwhile they would take the baby away and not allow me to hold it, until my test came back negative... after testing negative they still not convinced and refused to bring the baby back to me - instead exposing him to Covid in the common space. I pleaded with them to giver him back and they refused and told us it could possibly be two weeks until we see him again, leaving us no choice but to call our insurance and seek advice, who advised us to sign a paper to withdraw care. Not to mention the entire labor, they treated me like a criminal for coughing. I forgave them for everything, I took my son home and forgot about the whole thing. We were safe and sound and the nightmare was gone. I returned with a third pregnancy today, striking off 2020 as a difficult Covid year and gave them leeway. I return to completely incompetent and clearly poor mannered front desk who told me since I did not have children between 2021-current year and have not come back to the practice I am not longer an existing patient, thus making me a new patient and they no longer take new patients. I asked them how thats possible and what they expected of me between 2021-2025 -- to give birth yearly to stay a patient?? I said it was unacceptable and the fact that that I now have to find a new OBGYN that I was unfamiliar with was stressful, and told them I needed HCG levels to make sure the baby is doing well. I went to the back window to get my phone which I put on the charger when I first arrived where the staff asked if I was okay and I responded that I wasn't and that I was upset and explained the situation after which front office staff came in and started telling me to leave and that I am no longer a patient there and I have to exit the premises. Someone who I assume is the manager told me to leave (which I was already in the process of) I told them it was not okay the way they were treating me, and that they were rude and horrible, another front desk woman smirked and laughed at me, it bothered me and I voiced myself saying it was not ok - and to my complete shock the manager said "Do you prefer she frowns?" It is a horrible, horrible practice, with poor bedside manner and clearly poorly educated and mannered staff at the front desk, who have no business working in healthcare and with pregnant fragile women none the less! I am gladly writing a poor review of my encounter and I hope it helps someone. read more

I've been with this practice for years, long enough to watch it go precipitously downhill. Saddens me to write this (and I'm not looking forward to finding a new Ob/Gyn) but the dysfunction runs too deep. I will overlook a poorly run office (and this one's bad - see other reviews) for a great doctor, but when the medical care drops off, I'm out. My doctor (without naming names, let's just say she's senior staff) was always a bit brusque and never very warm, but she seemed ultra-competent, and extremely present. But these days, she seems less interested in doctoring and increasingly focused on her role as menopause influencer and social media thought-leader. She is ham-handed, with a vocal and vested interest in specific treatment paths, regardless of the individual. I feel she's proselytizing rather than listening. For the last few years, she has come across as a perimenopause/menopause alarmist, with dire warnings that it will get worse, that it sucks, etc, portraying herself as some sort of iconoclast who's fighting the power and giving women the right to complain after years of faulty research that minimized their symptoms, etc, etc, blah, blah. Meanwhile, I can barely get five minutes with this person. When I do get the chance to see her, she's harried, rushed, dismissive. Appointments are changed and canceled at the last minute, sometimes the day before. She's so busy, that I've occasionally had to see other doctors in the practice, who the original doctor inevitably bad-mouths when I return to her, complaining about their incompetence, saying she never would've handled things the way they did (one ordered an expensive diagnostic test that my original doctor said was unnecessary, while the other "has no idea what she's doing" in regard to meds -- she took me off of them before we could discern anything useful). So much for a) quality control among the doctors admitted to this practice, and b) decorum (feels icky when she demeans her colleagues, however incompetent they may be). This doctor is/was smart and knowledgeable, and I believe that she really does want to help women weather their hormonal shifts. But I can no longer accept her hysterical (pun intended) approach to aging, or her zealous PR persona. Bonus negative points for sloppy billing and unreliable med prescribing/refilling. read more

There was no effort put into trying to figure out what was wrong with me - turns out it was LS which no doctors there are trained to treat (something every gyno should be able to!) I see Dr Maldonado and I really like her as a practitioner. But it seems like many offices post Covid they have had difficulty lately hiring well trained staff, and take zero responsibility for a botched up procedure. I get blood drawn a few times a year for various reasons and had never had hematoma after a simple blood drawn from a very good vein, until my visit to this practice today. The nurse took zero responsibility for this, and neither did the doctor. I am supposed to go into serious treatment next month and this might not even heal till then. read more

Dr. Cho delivered both of my babies with care, confidence and kindness. Dr. Onbreyt was very compassionate when I miscarried between those pregnancies and provided excellent care. The doctors are often rushed or late, but that is the nature of the health care system we have and the fact that they are often dealing with emergencies, so if you have to wait, be grateful you are not the emergency. I am forever grateful to this practice for taking good care of me during some very vulnerable years. read more

This review is on my experience with having a baby at Spring OB/Gyn. Overall I was very happy with my care here. This is a great practice for those who are busy parents to be and want an all female doctor practice. At spring Ob/gyn you don't see one doctor or midwife you can see any of them and do a rotation when it's time for your labor and delivery which honestly makes a lot of sense to me in NYC. You can't expect your doctor to be on call the day of your labor and delivery so it's best to get familiar with all the doctors so at least you've had an interaction with them before giving birth (much better than having a random doctor!) I seen most of the practitioners and they were all very knowledgeable and caring. At times the appointments can feel a bit rush but it's a very busy office and I didn't mind because I was also in a hurry to get out haha I never had to wait more than 10 mins. The appointments are always on time and it's super easy to use their online portal to make appointments and message the doctors. I really love the online portal! I also had a really good experience giving birth with dr. Rodgers. At first I was worried because she's very straight forward and can be very serious but it ended up being perfect for my delivery! She followed my birth plan and was the reason I was able to push my daughter out! We also met with the genetic counselor who was so sweet and reassuring. I also loved Rachel the midwife who was just the nicest person ever. I wish she also did delivery. This practice really cares about their patients, and I didn't have any issues with the front desk or billing at all they were super helpful and direct so I did not experience what others did in the other reviews. read more

The reason why I cannot give this place a good review is the front desk staff , very rude . I called and first thing they said was hold on , no good morning , no greeting or anything . I wanted to make the appointment early, because the dr I see has a lot of patients and it's hard to get an appointment. The woman laughed at me and hung up. I have to start off by saying I absolutely ADORE Dr. Lydia Alexander and Dr. Jenny Reisner. They are capable medical professionals and compassionate human beings. Dr. Alexander helped me with my recurrent mastitis and Dr. Reisner delivered my beautiful baby daughter which I'm eternally grateful for. However the administrative aspect of the practice leaves much to be desired. The wait time can be awful, for some appointments I was seen in a matter of minutes, others, I waited for 40 minutes to an hour. The front desk can also be unhelpful and unprofessional, and demonstrate bad customer service skills both in person and over the phone. I had one particular negative experience with Dr. Danielle Feldman and received conflicting medical advice that has now proven to exacerbate my symptoms..which in part I think is due to the lack of continuity in the way the practice is set up. If you're looking for an attentive, consistent and personable prenatal and post partum experience, this may not be the practice for you as the doctors are on rotation for delivery and on-call, and any disruption in knowledge sharing in terms of your history across providers can impact your treatment. Again, strong pros and cons to choosing spring obgyn. In hindsight, I have no regrets.My hope is simply that this comprehensive review can help shed light for future patients. read more

I've dreaded and pushed back going to the OBGYN for years! After hearing amazing things about Dr. Jenny Reisner, I decided to pull the trigger and make my appointment on zocdoc. However, zocdoc had canceled my appointment and tried to reschedule me with another doctor. Another friend of mine had told me she had a very traumatic experience here with another provider which led me to canceling and rescheduling again... I am so glad that I was stubborn on seeing Dr. Jenny Reisner because she has impeccable bed side manner! She takes the time to listen to your concerns, is very thorough in her exam and doesn't skip the time to educate you. I did not feel rushed at all and she worked through my fears and worries. Dr. Jenny Reisner is truly a gem in healthcare and I'm glad she was my first OBGYN (she will most certainly be my only). read more

Long story short, my doctor ordered tests that she never mentioned wouldn't be covered by my insurance, and three months later, I'm being billed for $170, which at least is better than their initial charge, which was $730. When I complained to my insurance, the insurance rep called them, and they hung up on him multiple times, as many other people have said. The front desk was just as nasty with me when I called. I was seeing Dr. Maldonado, who was very nice and responsive and gave good recommendations for a fertility specialist. I felt well taken care of by her. I wish I could keep seeing her, but I have to find another provider because the billing department here is a scam. My partner came with me for my appointment to get some early fertility tests run because I'm afraid of needles. While we were there we were both offered the flu shot, my partner was assured his would be free because our insurance covered it. I got my copay bill for the appointment and I paid it. Then a few weeks later, my partner ALSO got a copay bill for an appointment, even though he did not have an appointment and received no treatment besides the free flu shot administered by a nurse. We tried calling three times, one time we were told they would leave a message with the right department to call us back. The next week we had heard nothing and called twice more, both times we got put on hold and hung up on. It seems to be impossible to get an explanation or correction for this erroneous charge. The bill only has the office number, it does not have a number to directly call a billing representative, which feels like a red flag on its own. Considering that it is very common to get accidental charges during a pregnancy, we cannot trust this office to respond to or correct billing issues during our future pregnancy, which can easily be $1000s of dollars worth of mistakes. I have a lot of coworkers who use this office and love it, mostly for routine GYN stuff, and they never had any billing issues. So this place might be okay if you are a single woman getting an annual pap smear, but I would suggest avoiding them if you have anything more complicated going on. read more

I went for an annual wellness visit, at the end of the visit the doctor asked if I had questions and I brought up an issue I had, she answered it. Whole thing was maybe ten seconds. They then billed me for an annual (free) AND a specialist visit. They insist since I mentioned this issue when I was making the annual wellness appointment online it counts as two visits. I have had Dr. Maldonado as my primary that whole time, and I actually LOOK FORWARD to seeing her at appointments. Who says that about an annual exam?? This rating is based solely on my experience just trying to book an appointment. I went through their online appointment system initially. It was an awkward set up, but a lot of doctors have weird scheduling sites, so I just went with it and booked. However, they canceled that appointment because the doctor changed her schedule. That is totally fine, I get it, that happens, especially since we are in December. The problem was, it was over a week since they canceled and even though I sent them my insurance card repeatedly, which they said they needed prior to making a new appointment, they never got back to me to re-schedule. So, I called them. I figured, it's a busy office, things might have been lost in the shuffle. Unfortunately, after several rounds of repeating my information, my reason for the visit and that I had already sent them my information twice, they kept getting everything wrong. They just were not listening and didn't seem interested in taking down my information and booking me a new appointment. So, I gave up. I am usually with Dr.'s for a very long time (my old Dr. retired so that's why I'm on the hunt for a new practice). I'm not a Dr. hopper. So, when my experience is this spotty, even before I come in, I just can't trust it will get better and that I won't have to look somewhere else a year or two down the road. Okay, so I usually don't write reviews, especially about doctors, but I have to say something. This by far has had to be the worst experience I've ever had at a doctors office. I made the appointment to see Dr. Danielle, out of convenience for myself since I work in the city and the office is only 10 minutes from my office not to mention that I'm not really a doctor person so I choose Dr. Danielle because we shared the same name. I figured since I had to go I might as well talk to someone that I shared something in common with. However, I never saw the doctor I made the appointment with. I don't think they are used to having black patients. It first starts with my exam room. I swear I felt like I was in the storage closet or something and was kept in there my whole visit like they were hiding me. And the ultrasound was the worst thing ever. I had a vaginal ultrasound and the ultrasound tech was very, very rough. She was literally jamming the ultrasound probe in my vagina. I've had a vaginal ultrasound before and I don't remember it being that painful. Nor to I remember having the procedure performed on an empty blatter, which I mentioned. What really got me about the ultrasound tech was her sly grin at the end. I am very disappointed to know that in this day and age, in NYC which is one of the most diverse states black woman are still treated as if we are less than. I really was the only black person in that office, besides the staff who the doctors probably don't have any respect for. It's sad and ridiculous. I'm going to personally say to the doctors of Spring OBGYN....look at yourself in the mirror and realize that your "status" doesn't make you any better than the next person. You are only a doctor because that's what you choose as a career. Don't let lose your humbleness because everything you worked for can be taken from you in the blank of an eye. read more

I went to see the midwife for a possible medical issue. Her name is LAUREN. She was the worst person I have ever dealt with in my life. I have gone to this practice for over 20 years. Always been amazing. She treated me like a piece of trashand told me To go to the ER and how dare I come in without going to a doctor for a covid test. She would not even let me speak to tell her that I took a home one. She should not be treating people. She should handle trash. What a horrible horrible person. read more

I scheduled an appointment through Zocdoc, mentioning I have a pregnancy related problem. When I came in, I told them I feel reduced fetal movement. I had to wait for an hour (!) after which Dr. Cho told me that she cannot see me and sent me home, even as a one time due to the situation. That's because she hasn't been handling my pregnancy beforehand. Sending home pregnant women who have an appointment scheduled (and have scheduled it with you instead of with someone else), and say they feel reduced fetal movement -- is completely irresponsible and very disappointing. read more

Dr Cho was nice in person. However, 1. She said she was sending a prescription over to my pharmacy. Almost 2 weeks later: still hasn't been called in. 2. She said my lab results would come back in a few days - it would show up on my portal, and then they would call me to discuss. Almost 2 weeks later: neither has happened. 3. The receptionist was rude when I asked whether I had to do anything regarding the prescription as I left the office after my appointment. She told me to just check with my pharmacy. Yet, here we are! I called the office now that a significant amount of time has passed and the receptionist said she would send the doctor a message. We'll see what happens next, but I'm unfortunately already frustrated with the office. TLDR: The experience in person with Dr Cho was pleasant.
