When we visited last weekend, they had baby pigs, as well as a more "mature" donkey, a calf, and the kids again got to milk a cow.

I started going every Saturday about 3 weeks now to pick up freshly harvested veggies. They setup a table right at the entry of the barn, and they are wearing masks, so everything is very safe. The owners Bree and Patrick, will go out of their way for you, and are so kind! Check Instagram under Suncatcher Farms for their Sat hours.

We pulled in through the gates and saw a small field of flowers to the left, along with a shed-like structure and a house in the back. The right side was pretty empty; I'm guessing whatever was growing there had already been harvested. We stood around for a few mins pretty confused about how it all worked. We found a sign saying that CSA members get to cut for free and a pricing chart for non-members. There were clippers and a knife sitting next to a stack of boxes, so we grabbed one of each and headed for the garden. The selection wasn't quite what we expected, but we still got a great bunch of flowers and sunflowers. Some were a little difficult to access from the walkways, so we just tried to be as careful as possible. When we were done, we tried to pay, but there wasn't really a designated place to leave money, so we just stuck it under a box inside the shed area (I hope they got it!). Very cute place! A little confusing for first-timers, but overall a nice experience.

Started following them on instagram and made it a point to get there around when they opened on a Saturday. Everything looked amazing, there was so much to choose from tomatoes, herbs, veggies, etc. I've gone a couple of times now and the amount and variety of items depend on how early you get there and the day of the week. They are really good at posting on instagram each day they are open with photos of what they have available so you can see ahead of time/plan accordingly. Everything I have gotten there has been so fresh and amazing to make soups, stir fry's or sauces with. The gal that is at the register is so friendly and nice. She always greets you with a smile and connects with you individually vs just as another customer.

They also sell breads and packaged goods inside the little school building. Super friendly staff that will greet you with a smile. In addition, there's a little bakery stand called blooms end and their pastries are amazing. We got there shortly after opening and there was already a line to get the goods. We ended up buying like 5 different pastries and they were all yummy.

These people were selling three different kinds of garlic, for example, when I stopped by. Here is a partial list of what Moon Fox Farm produces (taken from their CSA box web page): Arugula, Mizuna, Spinach, Chard, Beets, Sorrel, Mache, Little Gems, Lolla Rossa, (and other Heirloom baby lettuce), Broccoli, Cabbage, Leeks, Onions, Scallions, Chives, Thyme, Sage, Rosemary, Shiso, Papalo, Epazote, Parsley, Fennel, Lemongrass, Dill, Horseradish, Snap Peas, Shelling Peas, Fava Beans, Lima Beans, Okra, Carrots, Celery Root, Parsnips, Potatoes, Radishes, Turnips, Escarole, Chicories, Cauliflower, Kale, Collards, Hon tsai Tai, Bok Choy, Artichokes, Sunchokes, Beans, Dry Beans, Corn, Cornmeal/Polenta, Tomatoes, Peppers, Dried Chiles, Cucumbers, Summer Squash, Winter Squash, Strawberries, Melons, Walnuts, Prickly Pears, and Mushrooms. The farmer behind the farm is Annie Izaki, who "started Moon Fox Farm in hopes of getting people excited about roots, leaves, flowers, and fruit and to build on the connection between human, animal, plant, earth, water, and sky." This sounds pretty good to me; I intend to stop by their booth each week at the market.

We're so glad to have found Moon Fox Farm! Every two weeks, we get a substantial box of really fresh (there is dirt involved!) seasonal and delicious vegetables and herbs. We've especially loved the lettuces, eggplants, beets, cilantro, basil, tomatoes, garlic, and potatoes. We've tried and liked lots of new stuff like hon tsai tai and Jimmy Nardello peppers. The owner, Annie, is easy to work with and keeps us in the loop.
