My new favorite place! Drove past on our way back from point Reyes one afternoon and wanted to stop…read morebecause it looked so cute but they were closed for the day. Started following them on instagram and made it a point to get there around when they opened on a Saturday. Everything looked amazing, there was so much to choose from tomatoes, herbs, veggies, etc. I've gone a couple of times now and the amount and variety of items depend on how early you get there and the day of the week. They are really good at posting on instagram each day they are open with photos of what they have available so you can see ahead of time/plan accordingly. Everything I have gotten there has been so fresh and amazing to make soups, stir fry's or sauces with. The gal that is at the register is so friendly and nice. She always greets you with a smile and connects with you individually vs just as another customer.

They also sell breads and packaged goods inside the little school building. Super friendly staff that will greet you with a smile. In addition, there's a little bakery stand called blooms end and their pastries are amazing. We got there shortly after opening and there was already a line to get the goods. We ended up buying like 5 different pastries and they were all yummy.

My mom and I took a stroll through the new farmer's market in Hamilton Landing on opening day. It's…read moreevery Thursday 11am-3pm through the end of the year. It's right behind Villas at Hamilton and in front of the Bay Trail - between hangars 6 and 7. PRODUCE There were just a couple produce booths - one smaller and one bigger (neither was organic from what I could tell) with many samples of berries and stone fruits. I got cherries for $6.50 a basket and "cosmetically imperfect" plums and nectarines for $1.50/lb. My mom got red onions, lettuce, and broccoli (3 veggies for $10) and squash (yellow and zucchini plus a bonus kind given to her). SPECIALTY FOODS There were a handful of specialty food vendors, including Heather Stuckenbroker (Marin Foodies member) with her famous rum cakes (we bought one original and one chocolate - $4 each), as well as an assortment of sweet and savory spreads. From the Butterbars booth, I bought was a Dulce de Leche Butterbar ($4) to bring home to my husband. I also sampled the Ube Cheese and it was very tasty. They have a deal where you can six (one of each flavor) for $16. Auntie O's was there (delicious baked goods), The Juicery, and a few others with savory offerings (Mexican and Middle Eastern), all or most of whom are also at the main Novato farmer's market on Tuesdays. FOOD TRUCKS We got lunch from the two food trucks on site. The first was Lotus Grill Vietnamese Cuisine - run by a delightful local couple. The fresh spring rolls with shrimp and noodles (2 for $7 is a deal) with peanut dipping sauce hit the spot. Next time, I want to try their other menu item - bahn mi sandwich. The other truck was Sojuilla415 - Korean Mexican fusion, so I got two street tacos ($4 each) with bulgogi (steak), which was very flavorful and medium spicy. Their bulgogi fries also sounded tempting ($10 on the reverse side of the specials board) and I'd like to get the Super Burrito. The Roli Roti rotisserie chicken truck was there also. OTHER TIPS If you have CalFresh, there is a booth to exchange Snap benefits for dollars/tokens and they give a $10 bonus. There was also a face painting booth by Party Faces (artist friend who is a pro) and live music - a one man band. Miscellaneous other merchandise booths were there as well - like one with handmade (I think) boutique baby clothes. In one adjacent hangar, a new cafe - Kitchen - has breakfast, lunch, and bakery items. In front of the opposite hangar, there is a large open area with many tables and chairs (some shaded), as well as a lawn. My mom and I enjoyed our lunch there. I hope the market will attract more vendors to match the amount of interested customers - the front parking lot (where the library used to be) was almost full around 11:30.

Definitely a good farmers market to visit. The vibe was very joyful and all sellers were very nice…read more There were 2-4 farmers selling, and a couple of food booths, honey booth, cheese booth, and some clothing booths too.

We pulled in through the gates and saw a small field of flowers to the left, along with a shed-like structure and a house in the back. The right side was pretty empty; I'm guessing whatever was growing there had already been harvested. We stood around for a few mins pretty confused about how it all worked. We found a sign saying that CSA members get to cut for free and a pricing chart for non-members. There were clippers and a knife sitting next to a stack of boxes, so we grabbed one of each and headed for the garden. The selection wasn't quite what we expected, but we still got a great bunch of flowers and sunflowers. Some were a little difficult to access from the walkways, so we just tried to be as careful as possible. When we were done, we tried to pay, but there wasn't really a designated place to leave money, so we just stuck it under a box inside the shed area (I hope they got it!). Very cute place! A little confusing for first-timers, but overall a nice experience.

The other was counting bills at the other register, I assume closing out a till. I patiently waited for my turn. The lady checking out looked back at me a few times while she checked out. 3-4 minutes later she finished paying for her 4 items, and I was still waiting patiently. When the transaction was finally done, I figured it was my turn to check out. Instead of being greeted to come check out, the two ladies continued to talk like they were at a salon while I stood there, still waiting as the worker completely ignored me. At that point I decided to leave my basket at the counter and leave, and the lady in front of me basically followed me out to my car. I'll let you figure out the race of each party involved. I've been in this market many times in the past without this type of treatment, and love supporting local businesses of all kinds. Now I have to reconsider this location.

Live Oak Farm is a certified organic self-serve farm stand. The produce is fresh and delicious! They have a refrigerator for storage of some produce that require it. On the day I came there were fresh herbs, orange carrots, rainbow carrots, & several other items in the refrigerator. Not refrigerated were huge heirloom tomatoes, garlic and a few other times. I came around 4pm in the afternoon so there wasn't as much produce. A friend of mine had been there a few weeks earlier and said they got other produce such as kale. On this day I purchased a bundle of orange carrots, rainbow carrots & heirloom tomatoes and I can tell you that they were all delicious! So fresh, so full of flavor! There is a surveillance camera and a sign stating so. You write what you are purchasing in a log book along with the price (everything has a price listed so there's no guessing) and then there is a tin box that you put your money in and make change if you need change. In the log book you can also put your email address down to receive information from them. Their hours are Monday through Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm, and again it is self-service and it's all on the honor system. Though they are completely out of my way, I will continue to come here to get produce as I enjoy fresh, delicious & organic produce and supporting local farmers in my town.
