I feel like it's presence in the area has changed the tone of the other businesses and bringing the quality up substantially. Owned and operated by the stellar team from Petaluma Market, Penngrove market has a ton of amazing things. I have been known to pop in and wander even if I don't have anything I need, just to see what they have seasonally or new. I love their gourmet options and so much is locally sourced. In the back, you will find fresh pizza and sandwiches made for lunch time and dinner and they also do to go dinner that you can pre-order for your entire family which is great. Some of my favorite things from Penngrove market are the JM Rosen cheesecake, their awesome selection of chocolates and desserts, and the ever-changing coffee, tea and spices. For the wine and beer drinkers, they have a small but impressive selection of local and imported beverages, as well as many drinks for those looking for something refreshing and non-alcoholic. The coffee bar at the front is an excellent choice for morning pastry and hot drink, or you can bypass that entirely and go for the Strauss organic soft serve which is honestly not to be missed. The location of the store is easy to get to as long as you are coming at a time that does not coincide with school pickup, and there's lots of parking right on the street or in their parking lot. They also have a bulk section for nuts, spices, honey, water, candy, coffee, etc. and offer everything else a grocery store would. The prices are a bit higher than other grocery stores, but you're paying for quality. Everything is fresh, the store is always so clean, and people are for the most part always friendly. They hire people with special needs, which in my opinion, is my favorite part of visiting there. Their butchers are always so friendly and helpful. Their only downfall is SOME of their cashiers. They often are lost in their own conversations, and do not greet or engage their customers. They can come across as rude or unfriendly for this reason.
