They have an abundance of spices, seasonings oils vinegar's dairy products, specialty beverages and of course eggs you can get flats of eggs for $6 to $13, depending on whether they are organic or not. A local hidden gem I wish I was aware of sooner, but hey! I found it thanks to my son. Can't beat $6 a flat of brown eggs. A flat consists of 30 eggs/2.5 dozen. Only $5/flat for white eggs. Also, I was able to pick-up a 1/2 gallon of Clover lactose-free milk, two 1/2 pints of chocolate milk, 3 small Rosa Brothers ice creams, a bottle of Strawberry Orange Mango Pressed juice and a flat of brown eggs all for $23.00! It's a unique store. The location is off the beaten path in what is a light industrial area. Perhaps this was is a distribution center? They have plenty of eggs, for sure. Given the recent egg inflation, these prices were reasonable. And the eggs were of high quality. We enjoyed omelette breakfast the next day. The other offerings at the store are of mixed value in my opinion, with prices high and low. I suppose they know their customer. Speaking of which, we saw lots of customer photos. I love this place so much. The only bad part for me is that I did not discover it earlier in life. When I tell people where I get my eggs and ice cream and other delectable delights, they say," Where is Skippy's?" or " What is Skippy's?" and I explain that it is a fantastic place to get eggs, regular or organic, Strauss, ice cream, all kinds of cheeses and meats, and other surprises such as Lala's jam. It's a little bit out of the way, but so worth the drive and not only are the products the best, so are the folks who work there. So nice and so helpful. Sometimes I drive there just to get eggs because they are such a good deal. I can't recommend this place enough and you will become a recommender yourself once you have experienced it. read more

Skippy's is the place true locals go to to buy their eggs. They have a massive variety of local eggs and dairy products. You can buy an inexpensive flat of "checks" (eggs with slight shell cracks) at a discount and actually buy a flat of double yoked massive mega eggs. Skippy's has great prices and a lovely team of employees. And if you get there in time, you can also pick up extremely fresh bread to top off your breakfast plans. Not your typical grocery store like Safeway, Lucky's etc., however you can get quite a few items here for much less. I love to support our local farmers and the eggs from Skippy's are local (Petaluma). More eggs varieties then you can imagine, brown, white, organic, checked, omega 3, regular size, jumbo, extra jumbo, etc. And for those who aren't familiar with "checked" eggs, basically that is an egg that might have a crack in it but the membrane has not been broken. And when you buy local, your buying fresh which also means the eggs will last a lot longer then purchasing them at a grocery store (did you know that when you get your eggs at the grocery store they are at least 30 days old already?). I get a flat of jumbo whites (20 eggs) for about $2.25 to $2.50. It cost about $3.50 or more for just a dozen large (not even jumbo) at those other places. They also sell duck eggs, along with other local favorites such as Clover and Straus. They have a variety of cheese's, huge bags of all sorts of pasta noodles, spices, Brown Cow yogurt, probiotic drinks, oils, vinegars, various paper products (plates, bowls, etc.), jumbo cans of beans, tomatoes, corn, etc., flour, sugar, oatmeal and more. Now the spices they have is a huge variety in large containers and for minimal costs. I have no problem buying a large plastic container or cayenne pepper or other spice for $3.50 or so and I just refill my itty bitty containers that I got from the big chain store guys that I paid oh so much more for and got so much less. I mean I refill my containers thanks to Skippy's over and over and over again! Now Skippy's small, it doesn't have produce, meats and a lot of other stuff like the big guys but they are locally owned by a local family and it serves a purpose which I am happy to support! I shop here first then I get everything else at the other places. Next time you're in need of eggs or spices, go to Skippy's see what they have and pretty soon you'll be buying quite a lot of what they have to offer and you'll never go back to buying the standard grocery store eggs. read more

Super fresh eggs in large quantities, cheap - what's not to like? They also sell local dairy and some cured meats, like bacon, as well as other food service supplies (containers, cooking oil, etc). If you plan to buy eggs for boiling, don't get the checks (it's tempting because they're so cheap), as many of them will crack in the water and leave you with a huge mess. The checks are great for everything else, though, and such an amazing value! read more

I love this little market. It's more like an 11th hour restaurant supply store though. Most of the things sold here are in clear unmarked cello bags and sold in bulk. There are some fun surprises sold here too. Such as Wildwood soy creamer ($1.39 which is a fraction of the cost of Whole Foods), kombucha (also very reasonably priced), Straus creamery yogurt and milk, applegate sliced deli meat, and bulk cheese). But what they're known for are their eggs. When you go, look for the jumbo organic flats marked with an "x". These are ones that usually have double yolks. read more

After over 30 years in Petaluma I just found Skippy's and have to spread the word! The prices on eggs are great and there are so many other products - teas, olive oil, baking supplies, containers. We ended up buying cheeses, milk, and other dairy products too. The omega-3 eggs that I buy to help get more omega-3 in my diet are MUCH cheaper here than the alternative markets. If you want really fresh eggs at wholesale prices, Skippy's is where you go! I can hardly bring myself to buy eggs at the regular grocery store after finding Skippy's. Those Super Eddie eggs that cost $5/dozen at the local grocery store are $5/2.5 dozen at Skippy's! Or if you're going to be doing a lot of baking and just need some standard eggs, those are less than $3/2.5 dozen. They sell "check" eggs, which are imperfect, but it doesn't really matter. Maybe the shell will be slightly thin, but I've never had a problem with them. It's such a bargain. They also sell the higher grade eggs for a bit more cost, but I usually get the checks (I think the only time I've bought the higher grade eggs is when they were out of the organic check eggs I wanted) and I'm always happy with them. They also sell many other great kitchen staples like various vinegars, maple syrup, cooking wine, pasta, spices, etc. Their refrigerated section is where a lot of the best deals are--you can get Straus or Rosa Brothers milk, lovely cheeses, Brown Cow yogurt, and organic sausages. One thing we often buy is buttermilk because you get a half gallon for under $3. Service is always friendly and you get a flat of eggs FREE on your first visit! read more

I found this little jewel the other day, and not where I would expect it to be for a grocery store. It's in an industrial area. Small store, but has fresh diary products. Eggs, milk chesses, butter, and stuff. Some meats, lots of seasoning, bulk banking goods. Only saw 1 shopping cart. (It's that small) 3 rows only about 15' long. But fresh eggs. White, brown, Omega-3, layed that night and ready to go that day. 1st time there gets a flat of any kind of eggs. They do take credit cards, but they encourage that it be over $20.
