We ate there last week and had a great experience. My spouse and I shared a pick 3 combination plate, with sausage, chicken, and brisket, and all were very good. The young man putting our plate together was patient, generous, and actually seemed to be enjoying his job. He gave us a second plate to make it easier for us to split the meal. We got the potato salad and coleslaw as our sides and both were good, too. The woman at the register was also very nice. Another woman came around a couple of times offering us more bread. While we liked the bread, we didn't take any more from her -- she looked a bit offended we didn't take any the second time she came around, though! lol! I just moved from Arlington, texas, where Spring Creek barbecue is awesome! I was so excited to see that Tyler had one. So I excitedly walked in and ordered a sandwich, some okra extra crispy and some rolls to take home. First, the okra was not even halfway crispy. It was mushy, they took it back and fried it some more and yeah, never got crispy. Then i'm eating the sandwich going down the road, and there's hard chunks like that stuff's been sitting out for a while. I walked up to order and began to order; I told them I needed it to go??? They told me I had to go over to the To Go order area. Why??? They get the food from the same area. Not much meat on my plate less than half of what you get anywhere else and it was cold, hot hot bread made so no bread with my meal. Staff not friendly and cashier was rude. Five stars for the rolls; one star for everything else. Tried it for lunch on Sunday - line was almost at the door. No problem, it moved fast, but it was SO hot. My two year old and I were drenched in sweat by the time we ordered. Kids shared a plate - double mac and cheese for the win - and husband had pulled pork. I ordered a salad and got a number for the table. Proceeded to watch the rest of the family almost finish their food before my salad came out. Food was ok, should have been much better for the price. It took them around 29 minutes to serve us yet around 14 other customers had their food served we asked for the manager and he was arrogant disrespectful being sarcastic saying " do you have a problem?" the woman who served us practically ignored us and even when we got our order, she angrily shoved our food into a sack. We ordered the XL Family Pack on Saturday, September 23, 2023. It was advertised to feed 8 people including 2 meat selections and 3 sides. Sadly, I spent $109 on this Family Pack. There was only enough meat to feed 3 adults and 2 small children. Literally 1-2 slices of beef OR 1-2 slices of Turkey. Both being approximately 2-5 bites. The sides seemed plentiful, but the meat was the deal breaker. I went to Brookshires and grabbed 3 rotisserie chickens in order to compensate. We will never ever order from Spring Creek again. Who packages this and thinks it's ok? Do better. Be better, or please inform your customers that you cannot meet their needs before they depend on you and pay you. read more

So... all my life I have heard such great things about "Texas BBQ". So even though it is a chain restaurant, I figured this place should be decent. It has 3 stars on yelp and Texans are supposed to know BBQ. So, via deductive reasoning, it seemed that this should be a safe bet. I wasn't expecting a place you had to wait in line for two hours, but it should at least be passable! I was wrong. This was one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. I drove a couple of blocks to my hotel and was ready to dig in. And there was nothing good about this meal. The sausage was greasy and bland. The baked potato was overcooked and had almost no butter but a ton of sad chewy bacon. The bread was dry as the Sahara. And the brisket... dry and flavorless, with watery bbq sauce. I ate a couple of bites of each and then threw it all in the trash. I had to go out and buy a second dinner because it was so inedible. I should have gotten food from the McDonald's next door. Best barbecue in TX. So glad they had a location in East TX, while we had to come to Longview!! It was extremely clean, and everyone was very friendly. Worst run Spring Creek I've ever been to. I grew up eating and working at Spring Creek BBQ. Went in tonight around 6. They ran out of baked potatoes. At 6 PM on a Tuesday? The bread girl didn't pass bread the entire time I was there. She was only putting the bread in the oven as we were leaving. The coleslaw tasted bad and the green beans had no flavor at all. The only good thing was the turkey and the sweet sauce. Won't be back to this location; this isn't the first time I've been disappointed at this very location. Should've known better to give them another chance. Very sad, have more pride in your food/service. Y'all can do much better than this. read more

The barbecue is really good. It is tender and has a great flavor-especially with the sauce. Both the potato salad and beans are delicious as well. They also make wonderful rolls. Props to them for giving Tyler ISD teachers a $10 off coupon during Teacher Appreciation Week. However, the meal itself was very plain. The brisket was the best part of it, and even then, it was just decent. The Mac n cheese was bland and lukewarm, the bbq chicken's skin was rubbery and dry, and the ham tasted like something you eat during Thanksgiving (which is neither good nor bad). The potato salad was alright. The staff was nice enough. Overall, this place had a "BBQ Cafeteria" feel to it, which I didn't like, since the food seemed like it had been left out for too long and wasn't as fresh-tasting as I would have liked. Furthermore, both my wife and I got upset stomachs after leaving here, so I'm not in a rush to go back. As another reviewer mentioned, their attention to detail was a bit off, since the water/soda glasses are stacked on the soda machine, which makes it easy to pass over if you want to just have a water (either you get it then or swim back upstream to get it). Also, the bread lady didn't carry any butter, and told a customer that "he could get butter if he'd like from the to-go counter." Needless to say, the overweight patron wasn't amused and strong-armed her into getting him his butter. I realize neither one of these are big deals, but just things to consider tweaking around. The restaurant was filthy! I received a very nice response based on my previous negative review. I was given a gift card to try it again. I did 3 weeks later and I saw improvement. I went back today happy to spend my own money. The meat guy was rude, couldn't see any meat, vegetables or other sides because the window guards were steamy I understand that, however there was so much nastiness steam or not there's no reason for that. I ordered a brisket sandwich plate requesting corn on the Cobb and green beans. The brisket had a good smoked flavor and the green beans were okay considering there was no seasoning. However the corn was so dry coming out of the corn bath that I couldn't even get the corn off the Cobb, using my teeth and then a knife. I would have turned around and left but my 85 year old Father drove an hour to get there because I recommended it.
