Dr Chavez, the painless dentist. I am 87 and needed a tooth extracted. You know that tooth had been in the about 80 years and was only part of a broken tooth and had to come out in small pieces, about 10 pieces. No pain in the chair. Massie (sp) was wonderful. She was there every moment and catered to my every need. She was so polite and knew her business keeping me comfortable. Meanwhile Dr Chavez was carefully working on the extraction. Told me jokes to ease my mind but I had no pain other than having to keep my mouth open. I just knew that when I got home and the Novocain wore off I would be in pain but didn't happen. Dr Chavez gave me some steroids to help the healing of the gum where he had to put in a couple of stitches. I would like for this to be a public service announcement to all the folks in the spring branch area that I know tend to be older than most, and probably on a fixed income like my father who went to this dentist. This dentist took my father for $10k per implant, got two of them done and paid out of pocket. No implant that I know of costs that much and this clown is smiling all the way to the bank. Go elsewhere for an implant... trust me, I've had them done in Texas and California and none came close to this, even with bone grafts included. read more

First thing you notice when you get there is the atmosphere is very relaxing. All the employees there starting at the front desk to the back treat you like a good friend or family even. I'm amazed how much they make you comfortable so you don't have the anxiety of being at the dentist office. They have the latest and cool equipment. I want to start by sharing my very first experience with Spring Branch Dental which was the most positive after the most terrible situation at Dolbie family dental. (I wrote a review on their page if you care to know details) But long story short-I left there so upset and mad because my appointment which was made to repair a chipped tooth was wasted by other tedious unnecessary things. Spring Branch Dental Care took care of me the very next morning, fixed my tooth, and even listened to me vent. Dr. Chavez fixed my chipped tooth so well (in 2015) that it never came off, so I recently (August 2018) I returned because the composite had yellowed and he would need to redo it. -----Now----Here's where the story turns into something not so positive, and while I hate to write bad reviews I feel obligated to share. I was so pleased with my original experience that I chose to drive from New Braunfels to come here as I no longer live in Spring Branch. I had my X rays taken, chipped tooth fix, and was prepared to get my fillings along with replacing my retainer which was stolen out of my car amongst other things. They quoted me an upwards of $6,000. I was shocked to say the least and asked why it was so expensive?! "Insurance doesn't cover much" was the initial response. So I asked to see the itemized quote, and they had Invisalign on it! I told them I only needed to replace my old retainer, not order Invisalign and they said they'd "see what they could do"... (never got back to me on that) then I questioned why it was still so expensive once it was removed. This time they said it was because "United Concordia wasn't a very good insurance company". Okay? So I have my chipped tooth fix, and leave. The tooth breaks the very next week, so I schedule another appt for my teeth cleaning, chip repair, and two fillings. I show up and she quotes me $488, and again I ask if she has all of the right insurance info and she says yes. I ask why a cleaning would cost me $65 if insurance is supposed to cover it? She tells me it's probably my insurance deductible...so I call my insurance and ask what it going on. My insurance agent informs me the office was OUT OF NETWORK. I come inside and tell the office this information and she looks at me and says NOTHING. Why on earth wouldn't she just tell me the truth from the beginning? Why would she come up with all of these lies instead of being honest???? I was so angry. I tell Dr. Chavez what happened and he responds with the "higher quality is going to cost more". Mmmmk so because another company may accept United Concordia that makes them low quality? I'm going to agree to disagree. Take what you want from this review, but I cannot accept dishonesty, and lies. I feel fortunate to have figured it out without the help of this office. They do not deserve any ones business. read more

If you are not wealthy do not bother with this practice, they will not work with you and do not care if you are struggling, they do not care that life seldom cares you had plans previously, they will not inform you of hidden charges then penalize you for not being aware of their own policies, and even after being made aware of said policies not allowing you to simply pay the fee that no one told you was a policy to begin with, I will be posting this to various social media sites yelp ect. as the actions of the staff are both inappropriate and sad, don't preach we will work with you then spit in my face when I ask you to do just that read more

I love going to my dental appointments. Dr. Chavez is such a great dentist that I am willing to drive 1 hour and 45 minutes for my appointments. He has been my dentist for 8 years now and I completely trust him with my dental health. I've had 4 extractions and they all went very smooth with no trauma, and 3 of them were my wisdom teeth. He totally knows what he is doing and I am impressed at the advance equipment he has in his office to get the job done with little discomfort and efficiently. I also started my Invisalign treatment and I am so pleased with the service I have received from Dr. Chavez and his staff. Dr. Chavez and his entire staff are wonderful people. They make you feel super comfortable and they're pretty funny too, which eases my anxiety a little bit while I'm there! I was really impressed by that. They offer complimentary coffee and drinks as well. He is willing to work with you on the financial aspect which is incredibly helpful to me. I was in dire need of having a tooth extracted. Friday afternoon, who was open? Not Spring Branch Dental Care. But I called anyway. Within an hour Dr. Chavez emailed me back and told me I was welcome to come into his office Monday morning at 8. I was there, and Dr. Chavez and his wonderful staff took good care of me. The office is unobtrusive, and the folks who work with Dr. Chavez created a relaxing atmosphere.
