The search started when my wife contacted several companies for our wedding shower (The Decor Stop was #5 on list). Mala was the first (the other 4 didn't bother responding) to return our call and right away, we knew we were dealing with a professional. Mala took the time to know exactly what we wanted so she can create an unforgettable event. She was engaging and pleasant to speak with. She even called throughout the planning process to check how we were doing overall and offering any other help we might need. Discussions over phone, emails, texts, pics, videos were all part of the planning. Even with all that info, Mala needed to physically see the space so she would have a better feeling for what she could offer and boy did she deliver! The place was absolutely stunning! My wife has a talent for decoration and planning but even she was so blown away. Mala and her team worked with Tracey seamlessly, implementing her creative touches. Danny and his team delivered beyond my expectations!! I wanted a Parisian Garden themed party and I got a notch up. It was a Royal Parisian Garden. The stage emulated royalty fit for a princess. YES! My princess indeed! He even had Parisian music playing while my guests entered. It was perfectly executed and I loved every single detail. First it should be said that it was a real pleasure to interact with everyone there. From father to son to various other folks that help there. Anyway - about yesterday - we got two large pans of the fried fish and a large pan of the mixed vegetables. I was the organizer for the luncheon and so didn't get to eat. The fish as usual was just fantastic (their fried fish is "A--mazing" as my friend put it). But the mixed veggies didn't get eaten (the luncheon was Jamaican themed and we had two other Jamaican vegetables there as well). So I brought the veggies home with me. Because I didn't eat all day I was pretty famished when I get home. I don't know if it's the Danish or Italian in me or just maybe because my father was this way - but when I'm hungry I just eat stuff without warming it (all kinds of stuff). So I dipped a fork into the, now cold, veggies and O M G - the veggies were just amazing. So I heaped a plate full of cold veggies and scarfed it down. It was so good that I had to call LaNeves to let them know. I also scarfed down about 4 pieces of fried fish (cold also). It was so good. You can just imagine how delicious it is when all fresh and warm, especially if it that good cold. So I'm going on about the veggies - but the fried fish is even better - you just have to try it. Sooooooooo good. I recommend this place for your events (both dining in and catering). The food is outstanding and the service is fantastic. Oh, and by-the-way, all the food was ready on schedule. Hot and fresh! You just gotta try it.

I booked this venue for my daughter's first birthday party (for October) back in February…read more(pre-COVID). My contract was for 80-100 people. Due to NYC restrictions, they were only able to accommodate 50 people. I asked them for a discount since I had to cut my guest list, but they denied me. They told me that people were still booking their venue with the same rate and I said, "yes because they are aware of the 50-ppl cut off, but I booked this venue BEFORE COVID hit." Then, I asked if they can provide free decor, they said no that I needed to pay for it. They were not easy to work with AT ALL. The day of the event, one of their green backdrop decor was there and even though I bought my own, I said if it was available, I will use it. They said it was being used for another party - but they moved it to the bar area instead!!! So, because I didn't rent it, they just moved it by the bar area instead of letting me use it?? How petty? After screwing me with this contract as it is, they couldn't let me use a decor that was NOT being utilized? They are so money hungry and need a lesson in customer service. I booked the venue from 11AM-6PM. I was not allowed to decorate prior to 11AM but they started kicking out my guests at 4:30PM to set up for the NEXT party. Why are they setting up for the next party on MY PAID TIME? On top of that, their workers were moving around high stacks of chairs with toddlers running around. How unsafe is that? My guests felt bad for me and was angry with how the party ended. I wanted a nice first birthday for my daughter, especially going through this rough year with my husband (who is in healthcare) having to move away from us for 5 months. This party was the unnecessary stress that I did not need on top of everything else. It ended with people feeling bad for me. I will never recommend using this venue to anyone. I am giving them one star because their venue is pretty spacious. Other than that, I am extremely disappointed.
