To address this matter even further as far as damages and the venue being left with extensive cleaning, and soiled drapes ( I'm assuming wet drapery, where alcohol is involved) pretty common in your line of business I would assume ) and vomit in the bathroom. How is it the fault of mine or my associates that were assisting in removal, how ? You cannot blame or excuse your behavior of the few on the many. We were guests at this event and then bystanders while waiting for the equipment to be broken down and beverages packed and escorted out within the hour time frame to clean. My issue is regarding your professionalism and being disrespected. ** Luckily I will not post the video I took of you yelling several profanities, lies, and also stating leave, don't bother to clean just get " F " out repeatedly while having your several security guards try to calm you down almost an hour before the time everyone was supposed to leave. Maybe that's why no one else stayed back to clean to your standards after everything was removed. I will not post it, but simply mention it because we're both adults and I'm sure you're aware of your behavior and the goal is not to embarrass but enlighten you. I'm not unfair in the sense that you were frustrated for the reasons you are claiming, however your anger was misplaced and directed towards the WRONG INDIVIDUALS. The person/team that booked you, these are issues that you speak directly to them. Not go on an uncontrollable rampage of misplaced anger and blame on anyone and everyone within your view. You don't criminalize a bystander for something they did not do. As a grown man you should know better than to scream at women that way even if that wasn't your initial intentions. Myself and those you behaved that way with were not responsible for everything you're clearly upset about. If you're talking about safety precautions, and the usual banter most businesses use to salvage their reputation, doesn't apply to what my complaint is. It is your behavior is what made most of the females in attendance feel unsafe, uncomfortable and disrespected. And as far as how long you've been in business for, I live a few blocks away literally, you're not well known in a positive light. Refer to the other reviews with similar experiences in a different context. I am sorry you feel that way, but as someone in attendance I'm entitled to share my experience whether it's positive or negative. Hopefully you can take your behavior into consideration and account for your future clients, and I do actually wish you well. The only hiccup was the AC- although it was working, the air didn't cool us off much... however, this was a dance workshop which generated a lot of body heat in the middle of a July 2023 heatwave. My Naija colleague invited me to the birthday celebration of her friend. As usual for me I wanted to say no but I wasn't allowed to. I'm so glad I went!!! I was proposed to no less than five times! Sister, you dance sweet-O." Ladies, if ever you need an ego boost, go to a Nigerian event. A few times I jokingly asked "wouldn't your wife mind?" He said "because you dance like Jamaican hot ghul-O." I didn't t know how to take that. I think he was trying to compliment me so.... Okay-O. Getting to Lovely To Remember was super easy. Even if you drive, once you wanna drink and you're coming from BKLYN, you can park your car and take the train. Liberty Ave station is about two blocks from the venue and I used trains both ways even though coming back was around the fours in the AM. Walking on Liberty and Atlantic avenues seemed safe as there were a lot of activity: traffic, cop cars, pedestrians, open delis etc even at this time. The venue is small but use of the space was pretty smart. They were able to pack quite a lot of tables and chairs into the small space. I was amazed at the large amount of folks that fit comfortably in there that evening. Decorations as can occur at these events was NOT overdone. Just simple and elegant. I didn't eat food as I don't usually eat at these events BUT Naija custom is two drinks for each one you order. Maybe they were trying to get me drunk. Hahahahahaha. I'm Trini thank you very much. The possibility of me getting drunk from my three turn to six drinks and water is funny Hahahahahahaha. My friend who invited me stayed with her two sodas per order and I thought now THAT would hurt me more. LOL. As I speak of drinks, that's my one issue with this space. One toilet isn't adequate. I spoke with the owner, Janell who told me that the business has been opened for two years. She is a special education teacher who gave us history about why she decided to open her business. The business is available for private events such as baby showers, private parties, and etc. There is a kitchen located in the back. The space is a decent size and there was plenty of room. I love the decor throughout the space such as the white and gold curtain backdrop and the backdrop in the front of the business with the business logo on it.
