Next I have to harp about the food. I personally did no tasting here so I was just going on trust that the food would be good. For apps we got paneer pakora which were a huge hit. People are still raving about it! Also the malai chicken is delicious. For main the baigan ka bhartha (eggplant dish) was just as good as my mom's. Also the chicken tandoori is still being talked about too! We came to Ceviche 517 Restaurant & Lounge as a group of five, hoping to find good food, great…read moremusic, and some fun new cocktails--and this place absolutely delivered on most fronts! A quick heads-up: on Google Maps it's listed as Ceviche 517, but the sign on the building says Tavern 517, which initially threw us off. We were circling around until we decided to just trust the physical address--and we're so glad we did. As soon as we walked in, the name didn't even matter anymore. The decor is stunning--definitely has an upscale, Instagram-worthy vibe with a modern lounge feel. We might've come a little early because the place was quiet when we arrived, but that worked in our favor as we got to settle in comfortably and explore the menu. Drinks were a mixed experience. We tried the margarita flight, which included coconut, passion fruit, and strawberry. The coconut and passion fruit margaritas were absolutely delicious--fresh, balanced, and memorable. The strawberry, however, was a big miss--tasted like kid's medicine and no one at the table could finish it. We also ordered a drink called something like Chicola--it had ginger ale, lime juice, and some type of liquor, and unfortunately, it was another one we couldn't get through. The flavors just didn't mix well, and everyone at the table agreed it was a no for us. On the flip side, the Perfect Mule with a strawberry twist, the Henny Mojito, and a bold and fun drink called No Sheets were much better received. Menus are displayed on sleek tablets, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the in-house menu offered way more options than what's listed online. And the food? Absolutely excellent. The Tallarín Saltado with vegetables was beyond delicious--we placed it in the center so everyone could dig in. The ceviche flight was fresh and flavorful, and the jalea (a fried seafood platter) didn't last long on the table either. One friend had the larger ceviche bowl paired with a mojito and already asked to come back just for that combo. Even the kid's arroz chaufa with chicken impressed us, with a big enough portion for leftovers. If there's one thing that fell flat, it was the atmosphere--at least early in the evening. When we arrived, the music playing sounded like retro video game tunes, but thankfully it transitioned into upbeat Spanish hits, including some great bachata that gave the space some energy. All in all, despite a few drink misses and a quiet start, this spot is a gem. The food alone is worth the trip, and we're definitely planning to return--next time a little later in the evening to hopefully catch a livelier vibe!

I planned my…read morehusband a surprise birthday party while I was traveling internationally and Mark was really helpful. He was very communicative--even with the 13 hour time difference, I was able to coordinate with him easily. I had my husband be taken out of the house three hours before the party to set up... the balloon arch was delivered right on time. The photographer showed up half an hour earlier than the party. The magician I wanted to hire was booked somewhere else and I only found out a few days before, but the balloon sculpture artist Mark recommended instead was an absolute hit with the kids as well as the adults, which was a pleasant surprise. He made my husband the most outrageous birthday hat. Right when he was supposed to be done, one of the kids tripped and popped his balloons and got upset, and he stayed longer to make him (and a few other stragglers) more balloons. Truly kind. The photographer David was also really so helpful, friendly, and on it! He came early and helped with some of the set up... he was attentive and also very nice to talk to. Very natural (sometimes it's awkward when a photographer's in your face taking pictures but it wasn't awkward at all). We got a USB full of pictures right after the party! Really, what a great experience. My husband had a really great time. Thank you Mark and company!

The initial rental fee for this hall is $800 BUT be prepared to spend a lot more. Not only will it…read morecost you a lot more-these people are watching your every step like hawks-to the point where it becomes uncomfortable-they already have tons of cameras so the fact that they are on top of you while you're trying to focus on your party is so uncalled for. Going back to the fees-the deposit is $300 which they keep until your party is done and most likely you wont get it back because if you go over the 5 hours you rented the hall for they charge you $200 PER HOUR. I ended my party an hour before so that I could stay in the 5 hour frame but we took just one extra hour because of all the cleaning we had to do. The 5 hour rental is including the time you need to clean up and if you don't clean up to their standards they'll keep your deposit too. So basically you rent the hall for 5 hours you party for 3 and clean for 2 hours? because trust me one hour isn't enough time. They make you sweep and mop the floors too. My family and I left this hall spotless-which they witnessed-(remember-HAWKS) and they still charged us an additional $200. I would have understood if we were still partying but no we were cleaning up this entire place. Oh and let me back track-they also only give you two hours to set up so if you go over the 2 hours-you need to pay $50 (cash only) for every additional hour. Oh wait there's more-if you're serving alcohol or your guest bring alcohol you need to pay an additional $150 dollars. From the moment I stepped in that hall to decorate for what was suppose to be a very special day for my family and I-these people were none stop. They don't let you focus with so many demands and regulations. It was pouring this day and I parked on the side and someone came out demanding I move my car because it was only they're parking (mind you-none of them were parked there and didn't need the parking) I had my one year old son in the car and just wanted to take him inside. I wish I knew this information and saved myself the frustration, which is why I decided to write this lengthy review. In hopes that it can help someone else.

I had a hard time finding the place and I had to text the groom to let me in since the door is locked. The doors weren't locked the night of the wedding so all the guests were able to get inside without any issue. The layout of the room was nice. There was a balcony in the next floor to overlook the room and was used for the DJ and photo booth. I'm not sure of the different options that the hall provides. We had a lot of alcohol! There was no cocktail hour and the food was surveyed buffet style. There was basically no service staff but at least there was water on the table. The food was very good and the bartenders did a good job even though at one point I was outside and the bartender was hanging out with us for a while while the other bartender was likely extremely busy.
