I decided to try the burger today! It's been catching my eye everyday I walk down this street. As a part of my journey to find America's best classic burger, I had to sink my teeth into one. I hear the pizza is popular, so I'll have to make another updated review when I get there. Today I had just the burger. Solid 3/5. Verdict, it's a good burger. Angus beef served with American cheese, tomatoes, raw red onions, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, mayo and a toasted brioche bun for only $7 or $12 for the soda and fries. I only wished the beef patty was more flavorful because it was so juicy. Perhaps if it had been seared more for a crust, I'd bump it up. Zero stars if i could! Absolutely horrible customer service over the phone and in person! On my lunch break, i called to ask if they had fresh slices of cheese pizza available. Since in the past there have been times where the cheese slices were not available. Owner ARGUED that slices of cheese and pepperoni pizza are always available and had a very rude and condescending demeanor. Then whenever i went into the establishment to get the pizza. I explained that the way he was speaking was disrespectful and he proceeded to say that he has ADHD and that i'm doing this to him on purpose. He then said " do you want the pizza or not " i asked if he was the manager and he said he was the owner, so i politely exited the establishment and told him to have a great day! We had been loyal customers for 20 years but after our most recent experience we will never be going back. We ordered a simple hiding spot pizza. We had asked to add jalapeños (which we usually did in the past). They gave us a pizza without jalapeños because we hadn't paid extra for it (not an option on their website) and they didn't even call us to ask if we wanted to pay the difference. Gave them the benefit of the doubt so still brought the pizza home. Unfortunately, when we tried eating the pizza was essentially inedible because it was JUST cheese and no sauce. We did not order a pizza with no sauce. When we called due to our order being incorrect, the very rude staff said it was our fault that we didn't like the pizza and we should have ordered "extra sauce." My dad went back with the pizza to show the manager what happened see if they could fix it or get us a fresh one, and instead she fought with him. He asked her if she would try some of pizza so she would believe there was no sauce on it, and she retorted with "I am not a dog, I don't even make the pizzas." Aside from the absolute disrespect, who puts cheese on bread without sauce and sells it as a pizza?! Not sure if this is incompetence and they have not trained whoever is making the pizza, or they are cutting corners to save money. I used to like Spot pizza, you could get slices quickly and easily. I often used them for large gatherings , but if you are ordering delivery now, understand that they no longer use their own employees but subcontract with DoorDash. If it screws up, you can't contact the driver and you may not get your pizza. If you do get pizza, it may have spent an hour getting to you. This is what happened to me when I ordered 5 extra large pizzas and some salads for a party. I talked to Spot 3 times about the delivery location (its a little tricky) and the timing but the info never got to the DoorDash driver. He got lost, I couldn't contact him directly, Spot told him to return to the store and by the time Spot got the order to me, it was it and everyone had gone out to get other food. My friends and I ordered quite a bit of food LOL and had a variety of things to try. We ordered the picnic spot pizza which is most similar to a bbq chicken pizza. A side of fries, a cheesesteak sub and garlic cheese bread. First off, the pizza was fantastic. 5/5 really solid bbq chicken pizza, fresh toppings. Not too sweet not too doughy not too crunchy. Vvery happy w this. Everything else... not so much Our fries were extremely cold and soggy and were almost inedible. I'm not exactly a fine dining guy so I'm not hard to please, but these did not pass The Philly cheesesteak sub was messy and falling out of the less-than warm bread. And I don't even think there was cheese in the sandwich. The taste was meh and I was a bit disappointed The garlic bread wa very tasty and came with a marinara sauce that was nicely complimentary of the savory bread. I was looking for a place to get some quick food before heading to the Los Altos stage company for a show. This restaurant was right around the corner located in a beautiful downtown area. The restaurant has one self service tablet that can be used to place your order. We ordered and received our pizza about 15 minutes later. There are tables available to eat inside but the feel I got was that customers usually get the pizza to go. The pizza was a little salty but otherwise very good. I removed one star because the restaurant was not very clean. The trash was overflowing and the tables were dirty. I would definitely have their pizza again but would probably get it to go. Gosh, I'm surprised and honestly a little mad at myself for not reviewing this pizza shop sooner! I have been going here since I was much younger, greatly enjoying indulging in the pizza dough that the owner at the time gave me and my sister when we first started coming here! The pizza is always well baked to me when I eat here, the crust of the pizza remaining fluffy through out the entire eating process. I don't understand the low stars. This is by far the best pizza place in the Peninsula if you're looking for something not New York/Neapolitan style or Chicago Deep Dish. It's the pizza you grew up with done to perfection. I ordered through DoorDash with ZERO PROBLEMS and my food was ready upon pick up. Anyone who said they had a terrible experience using a 3rd party app should try again. It's so rare to find delicious pizza that has a satisfying, crunchy outer layer of crust with the inner crust/dough being soft. The Version 8.0 is moderately spicy from the spicier than normal pepperoni but so delicious especially with their Italian sausage. A large size comes in around $26 and is around 10 slices. It was enough to feed 4 people. I've been coming here and previously their Palo Alto locations for awhile and everything on the menu is great. Give this local business a try. read more

I am a little bit torn about this place. And feel that I can't really judge when I had a slice vs when others had the full pizza. The slice of pepperoni that I got tasted like it might have been sitting out all day, and then upon order it was thrown in the oven to be heated. The crust is thicker, so the slice was hard and a bit stale tasting. It lacked sauce and did not smell like pizza. It sort of tasted like a frozen pizza from the grocery store. But for the price it wasn't entirely bad. Maybe better off buying a frozen one . The service was just ok. It wasn't great, but not horrible either. Just felt like it was the end of the day, the guy was done with his day, and wanted to leave. There are so many other great places on Los Altos that i would rather try. So this is my 2nd time ordering from Spot in years I really like their pizza! Likes I love their create your own pizza option they have about 30 toppings to choose from! Some of the toppings that I chose for my last pizza were pepperonis, mushrooms, and green olives. I absolutely love the bread (crust) this is the kind of pizza where you eat the hole slice and no ends are left over! The pricing for the premise pizza is not bad & the portion size is pretty good. Enough for left overs if you order one of the larger pizzas! The service has been really quick both times I ordered in DoorDash. It probably took about 20-30 minutes for them to prepare my pizza and deliver it. Almost as fast as ordering fast food! Dislikes I wish they had more premise options! Their premise options are primarily meat based or primarily veggie based. For example one of the premise options has salami pepperoni and sausage! That's too much meat almost I think. I wish they had an option with more balance between meat or veggies. Almost forced to choose between a veggie or a meat lover pizza. The other thing that I wish was that the additional toppings were cheaper ($2.25) on DoorDash for additional topping. That's too much! Spot Pizza has been a family favorite since we moved to the area nearly 10 years ago and we absolutely love coming here. The pizza is extremely delicious and they are very generous with the toppings. The crust is chewy and taste really good too. We've always had friendly service and they prepare and bake the pizzas pretty quick. I love that they have the Mini size option for all their pizzas so everyone in the family can choose their favorite. My little one is excited that they have yummy ice-cream too! It's nice seeing the local kids/teens come here during lunch and after school to eat and hang out. A couple of years ago I posted a review that this place was having issues. But my kids still like it and asked me to order delivery from them. I guess they use Doordash now for deliveries (could not tell this from their ordering site but it was in the delivery text later). Said the pizzas would take an hour and that was fine. OVER 2 HOURS LATER my cold pizzas arrive. I stopped using Doordash long ago due to their driver payment practices and gouging their client restaurants, along with multiple late or lost orders. I love their pizza here. When I order to eat there, pizza comes out quickly. I personally love a slightly thicker, chewier crust and that's exactly what I get here. The appetizers and desserts look really good too - just haven't had a chance to try yet. Tip: There are at least two kinds of personal pizza combo's: one is a single topping and the other is two toppings. Either are just $8.75 I ordered the personal pizza; comes with a choice of two toppings, and you get a crispy green salad or a caesar salad and you get a medium sized fountain drink. PIzza dough is slightly chewy and tasty; the sausage and mushrooms tasted very good too. Light on the sauce and cheese is ok when it's tasty and priced right. The side salad is fresh and crisp. Called in a pizza at 6:07 pm. arrived at 7:09 pm to pick it up. The person who took the order over the phone never ensured that the kitchen was actually making the pizza. (She said the kitchen didn't receive the receipt). Hence, after one hour the pizza was still not ready. The restaurant was very slow and what I found when I walked in was dirty floors, dirty tables, clean pizza boxes in the process of being folded stacked and placed on the dirty floor and a bunch of young, teen girl workers screaming, laughing and fighting with the tongs. Unbelievable. Who is the owner of this place now? No supervisor? They've lost our business after being customers for 24 years. read more
