Been a member for a few weeks now and it's been great. Kevin has been the trainer I work with…read morebecause of the times I have been coming in It is SO MUCH a better deal than most gyms and here is why: 1. Personal Trainer with every workout at no extra cost!--Yeah, you read that right. It is nice to have someone lay it out for you. I don't have to think of diddly squat, I just show up and say 'what up Boss?", and he puts me to work to get my sweat on. It is good to have someone yell at you to keep on going. That way, it isn't just your own voice in your head motivating you. 2. They keep it fresh by mixing up the workouts--I do the same basic warm up stuff, but the tri-set circuits they have me on, they mix it up the exercise combos. It could be lateral hurdle hops-leaping squat rows and medicine ball figure 8's. or something else. something different everyday. 3. No Contracts and no signup fees-- Well first off they give you a week free, but if you want more after that, you just pay your months fee upfront and that is it. You can also pay by the class if you want, but I just did the month. thing. 4. SWEAT! SWEAT! SWEAT!-- I go in for one hour workouts and they keep me moving the whole time, it is go go go, and my shirt is soaked at the end. And it ain't fake hot yoga sweat, it is you are moving and busting ass sweat. It is 5 min warm-up on treadmill, the 7 or so warm up exercises, and then it is tri set circuit after tri set circuit after tri set circuit until my time is up. I sweated 4 lbs from beginning to end last Thursday! :) I would say if you live in the Everett area and want to join a gym to get in shape, this is the place to go

I really enjoy working out at pursuit. There is so much equipment and the variety of it all keeps…read moreyou from getting bored. I also enjoy working with the personal trainers. I need help with accountability for myself and so I have leaned on the trainers to help me get moving after going stagnant for a year. I had to switch trainers recently due to my last one leaving :-( which was a bit of a bummer HOWEVER I have been working with Conner for a few weeks now, but I'm already seeing progress, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. One thing that really sets him apart is how he approaches injuries. I have tendonitis, and instead of just skipping exercises that bother me and moving on, he gives me stretches, mobility work, and "homework" to strengthen the area so I can eventually perform the movements correctly and get stronger. It's refreshing to have a trainer who focuses on long-term progress instead of temporary workarounds. He also keeps me accountable outside of our sessions by checking in on my workouts and nutrition. Having a clear plan with specific goals has made it much easier to stay consistent and motivated to come in, and I really appreciate the encouragement along the way. He genuinely listens to my concerns, answers my questions, and takes the time to explain the "why" behind everything we're doing, which has helped me feel much more confident in the process. Our sessions are primarily strength training, but I also love how he finishes each workout with high-intensity supersets that end things with a bang before sending me off for 20 minutes of cardio. Every workout feels challenging, purposeful, and rewarding. If you're looking for a trainer who is knowledgeable, supportive, and invested in your long-term success, not just your workout during the hour you're together, I highly recommend Conner.

I was willing to spend the extra money (their rates are higher than other gyms in my area) because there were 2-3 classes every week that appealed to me. I showed up for the first class, and became aware that the posted classes are not consistent, if available at all. No problem, right? I was still excited to utilize their body scanner, sauna, massage bed, and of course their outdated gym equipment. However, during my second month scan (May 2025) the trainer who assisted me and analyzed my scan was super condescending and unprofessional. Her comments were unnecessary and made me feel very awkward, so I didn't go back for months. With the fee so high I decided to slip in and use their sauna when that staff member wasn't there, but in the end not worth the hassle.

My daughter's partner was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and given a prognosis of 6-12 months. He is currently on SSI disability since he can no longer work so his income is very limited, and asked about a free membership, and the answer was a flat no. Just policy over people. For an organization that claims to be community-focused, that response was shocking and unexpected. He is facing overwhelming physical, emotional, and financial stress. Something as simple as access to a supportive, healthy environment could make a meaningful difference--yet the Everett YMCA chose bureaucracy over basic human decency. If this is how you treat people at their most vulnerable, then all the talk about "healthy living," and "social responsibility" is just marketing fluff.

They constantly are changing the pool schedule, so you never know what's going on. They don't update the website and they don't update the pool schedule on the Internet. They're just not organized. The City Of Everett needs to open up the Forest Hill Park pool because there is not enough pool time available at the YMCA for the City Of Everett.
