Oh my goodness. I happened upon Spoonful while in from out of town and WOW! It's a small place (no public restroom) with a porch area for those who want to eat in. I chose a cup of one of the Thursday soup offerings: sweet potato chickpea with tons of delicious veggies. Gluten free and vegan. The homemade mini biscuit which accompanies was worth the wait. They were out so I lingered on the porch and was the recipient of fresh out of the oven goodness. I was intrigued by other goodies like a hand pie of goat cheese and caramelized onions and bread pudding with tart cherries. They offer bowls and sandwiches and homemade pies. In fact, i picked up a small berry (4 kinds) pie for later. Based on the biscuits, which are little bits of heaven, I feel good about the pie prospects. Prices are fair and service is excellent. Great fresh tasting sandwiches! However, the reason for the lower rating is what you get for the price. They really need to put a bit more meat on their sandwiches! My Turkey sandwich had two pieces of very thinly sliced Turkey on it. Please note that I don't usually like thick sandwiches. The Bread Pudding is good but MOSTLY bread...hardly any pudding texture or fruit in it. I'm sorry for this rating, as I tried them a few years ago and the soup and sandwiches were fantastic. I stopped here passing through Milford. It is located on the Main Street in town. Walking up the steps to the place the you enter to the right and order your food there. Everything was pre made but that didn't deter from the taste. The sandwiches were in a heated glass enclosure already wrapped. I was a little concerned when I saw this. In spite of that the sandwiches were not soggy, had a great taste and fresh ingredients were used. I got a soup which was also excellent. I would definitely come back. read more

A possible paranoia: the handpies, while pleasant, aren't kept at a very hot temperature; they're mildly warm, and served that way. While I had one without meat, I couldn't help but be concerned that the ones with pork, etc. might not be safe to eat. HOWEVER, I really enjoyed this. It was well worth the walk to get to. I came to Spoonful for the first time today and decided to get one of their soups for lunch. Their patio was already bustling with happy customers enjoying their lunches. I decided on the Hungarian mushroom soup, as my boyfriend's mom sings praises about this soup. I got the smaller size soup which is $5 and that comes with a small homemade biscuit. The larger size soups are $10 and come with two biscuits. I also ordered their tart Michigan cherry bread pudding. The lovely Meghan at the counter was very pleasant and accommodating. I took my lunch to the porch and thoroughly enjoyed the soup, which was chock full of mushrooms. The bread pudding, which is one of their bestsellers, satisfied my sweet tooth. It has just the right amount of sweetness, which is nicely offset by the tartness of the cherries. If you go, you must try the bread pudding for dessert!! read more

I absolutely love hot yummy hearty soups so by their name of the place alone I definitely wanted to come here. It's not a large place but is a really cute small place that offers fresh homemade soups, hot sandwiches, unique patties, biscuits and some deserts. If you want to taste a soup they literally give you a spoonful of soup. They offer outdoor seating and indoor seating. I don't think they offer table service because I saw someone just bringing in their finished tray of food. I ordered their large chicken noodle soup and a dozen of their mini biscuits. Their soup was spot on and their mini biscuits are really addictive. Great place for lunch but they close early but as always I made it here pretty late in the day so we had limited choices. The staff was extremely friendly. My wife enjoyed the selection but might have been a little to exotic for me. A bowl of grains and veggies,a panini, small soup and 2 drinks was $30.00. before tip (a little pricey) . The atmosphere needed work. Didn't like the homemade artwork or the tables ( flimsy) . This place has it's good points especially if you enjoy really healthy eating. The food is quick and mostly fresh. It also has a large selection of soups which saved it for me. Not quite what I expected. Had a cafeteria feel to it. My steak sandwich was delicious and I give that 4 stars, however my daughters lunches were mediocre at best. The soup was bland as was the biscuit which the person at the register forgot to give me, I had to go back and ask for it. Delicious soups and hand pies. I got the lentil spinach and my husband got the Hungarian mushroom - both were excellent. The hand pies were also really good. We thoroughly enjoyed our soups and pies and will definitely be back. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We ate in their seating at the studio next door, which we were glad was available because it was hot out. Had it not been so hot out, the shaded porch seating looked like a lovely place to enjoy one's meal. Wish they had more vegetarian options, but most places tend to offer only one unless they're more vegetarian-oriented. It would have been nice if they had a vegetarian panini or another veg soup option, but most of their soups are made from meat stocks. Also wish the biscuit that came with the soup was bigger, it was pretty small. But, these are minor complaints and we enjoyed our meal a lot. read more

I came here around 11:30 on a Monday, and there was no line. When I left the line was out the door however, but it must've been a lunch rush. They have lots of premade sandwiches, soups, and salads. I had a turkey lurky panini which had turkey, spinach, mozzarella, and chipotle mayo on it, and it came with a side of mango salsa. It was very good. My friend had some kind of quinoa bowl and that looked even better! There was also a really impressive looking berry salad. The best part was that the salad comes in a biodegradable bowl :) they have an indoor seating area, you just have to walk back outside and into the door on the left. I don't live in the area but if I did this would be a favorite spot for me to visit. They had a gluten free option for bread which was really helpful for me as I don't eat gluten. The person serving us was the only one I saw in there so I'm assuming she was the owner? Either way she was so friendly and nice and brought our food out to us as we waited on the beautiful porch. My husband got the Turkey Lurky and I got the Mamma Mia and we both agreed that the ingredients in our sandwiches tasted SO fresh! Like idk if she's literally bringing in this stuff straight from her garden but it definitely tasted that way. I got their Hungarian Mushroom soup and Kale Sausage Bean soup. Off the hook good...!!! Hungarian Mushroom is always good but this was the best I ever had. Ditto again for the Kale Sausage...! Great find on our way to Hawley, PA. The soups are fresh and delicious, and there's a good variety. I needed to add a little salt, but better than being too salty. The fruit juices are a must! The Mowie Wowie (watermelon juice + other flavors) is so incredibly refreshing. We also got a few of the turnovers - both sweet and savory. The pie crust was flaky and delicious.
