I searched Amazon, Etsy, eBay and every fabric company i could find for a certain type of pattern and color to recover my sofa to match with my middle eastern decor. On the point of giving up, i stumbled on Spoonflower and saw a cornucopia of choices in the range of what i was seeking by creative designers. Ordered three designs of bed sheets - to use the flat sheets as fabric to cover - and one was absolutely perfect. The one star off is because the sheets are only printed in one side, and the hemming is cheap, and fabric is rough- i would not want to actually sleep on these sheets- and wherever the underside would show if the bed was turned back would ruin the look. However for my purposes i love the fabric and love that i am getting a unique artist's design. I will definitely look to Spoonflower again when i have another project that requires a specific pattern and color fabric. Based on the other reviews here i would be wary of the wallpaper but maybe I'd tack it up so it wouldn't peel down to make the best of it - if i loved the look!!! read more

We ordered wallpaper from Spoonflower that was specified by a designer in Canada. The pattern was a plaid style with vertical and horizontal lines. When we went to install the paper we found the print itself was out of square. The horizontal line was slanted therefor making the room look entirely on a slant. We reached out to Spoonflower and they would not offer us anything other than a store credit for unused material when essentially they sold us defective goods. Poor manufacturing, poor customer service. I'll be sure never to recommend this company from our design team. read more

When I tried calling, no return call. Than I tried email and response was well it only lasts one year and there is nothing they can do for me. She understood my frustration but no resolve. I have been ordering fabric, curtains and wallpaper from Spoonflower for years and have even recommended it to many friends on my social media pages and by word of mouth. But I just spent over $300 on fabric that is very poorly photographed, not described at all whose swatches don't match the actual fabric which arrived 2-toned in strips of about 18 inches; gold and yellow. Customer service refused to give me a store credit and just kept sending me the same form letter of refusal over and over. I am so disappointed in them and will no longer purchase from them. In reading other reviews, I see others have had the same problem with customer service. read more

I got some of the pre pasted wallpaper and while I love the pattern I'm not a fan of the wallpaper itself. You have to overlap the pieces on the edges by at least a 1/2", I think it was a bit more than that to get the pattern to line up. I chose a pretty busy pattern so there was a lot of pushing and pulling to get it right. I still had spots on one panel where some lined up and others were just close, Nothing I could do about it. I had intended to go back and double cut the seams to get rid of the overlap but decided not to because I didn't think I would end up with good results with this paper. I give 5 stars to the artist who gave me the custom color I asked for. I would NOT recommend using this wallpaper and won't order from Spoonflower again due to issue with matching the pattern and the overlap needed on the seams. read more

After several successful orders, I ordered a block-print design fabric and it was awful; big streak of missing dye repeated throughout the piece. This wasn't an acceptable 'handmade' characteristic; it just looks like the dye wasn't evenly spread on the roller. I contacted them for a return/exchange. Long story short, they said it was how block prints look and they wouldn't honor their "Happiness guarantee" as advertised. So...no more orders from me (or my friends or my sewing community) and I'm stuck with yards of fabric too flawed to use. Too bad because I liked ordering from an American company, but they weren't honest and they refuse to honor their so-called guarantee. read more

I tried the spoonflower peel and stick wallpaper and it did not stick well. First it bubbled underneath where it did not stick and then started falling off the top corner about a week later. I followed the instructions on prepping the wall, however customer service said it can have no texture on the wall. I'm not sure that there are walls with no texture, unless you put it on a new build and put it directly on the drywall. This isn't the case with any other peel and stick wallpapers I have used. There were also marks on the wallpaper. Very disappointing when I spent $243 on a 4 ft wall. Horrible customer service, they will not do anything. read more

I found fabric that was exactly what I wanted. I could not find a size option. I assumed it was a yard at $12. I ordered through Michaels and they were no help when I wanted to return the "fat square" of fabric I received. I do not claim to be a seamstress or have much knowledge in fabric. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!! Would give zero stars if I could! I've never experienced such poor customer service from an establishment before. I was sent my wallpaper which NONE OF IT LINED UP, and had BLACK INK all over one of the rolls. They clearly do not even check their products before sending them to you. On top of that I had a professional come out to hang my wallpaper and because we couldn't use the wallpaper that was sent I had to pay for him to come and not do a job. They refused to provide any compensation/discount. The only thing they offered was expedite shipping to send me new prints which is what $15 for them? I was shocked at how badly this whole thing was handled from start to finish. Will never use or recommend them. And clearly from the other reviews I am not the only one this has been happening to. New edit: I know they are trying to make themselves look good by their responses to all the terrible reviews but don't be fooled! Loved the pattern and look of the peel & stick wallpaper I ordered but it keeps getting bubbles underneath on one of the walls. Was not satisfied with the options provided to me by customer service to rectify the situation, so I guess I will be smoothing down bubbles every day until I finally get tired enough of it to take it down after hours of work spent putting it up and a small fortune spent on it. read more

I've ordered from Spoonflower several times. My fabric of choice is Petal Signature Cotton. I've had a mixed experience. I love the variety of fabrics. The actual fabric color is often muted and there is significant fading. My biggest complaint, though, is that you don't get the full amount of the fabric ordered. There is a large border/selvage that measures anywhere from a 1/2 inch to an inch. This is included in the cut length. So, if you order 1/2 yard or 18 inches, you're only receiving a17 -17 1/2 inches. The fabric is so expensive so this makes a difference when you're ordering the exact amount. I love the fabric selection at spoonflower. what I don't like is the shady sales pitches. I am tired of it. I have ordered 100% of my art project fabric from you guys, did you know that? I absolutely love one artist, the calvarium. All my art chairs have been done with his stuff. That being said, I am a VERY small business. you have a small business option- yes- you buy some crazy amount of fabric and get some small discount, what about very, very small business? We are all waiting for that 30% sale. So every week you tell me "up to 30% all fabric and wallpaper" and then I excitedly go to my cart, and of course NO, the fabric is not 30% off, it is "UP TO" 30% off, and I leave again, disappointed, for another week- but you also make sure to text me as well "thanks for stopping by!" or whatever. no. I have started looking into different fabric solutions for my small business and I am CERTAIN you are losing business if I am frustrated, other people are as well. I am very very patient. Stop pretending to have sales that aren't really sales. Either have the sale or not. Don't be disingenuous. Its super annoying. Also, maybe have a student or very small business discount? Then I could actually buy stuff from you and I wouldn't have to look elsewhere for fabric solutions. also, the blacks aren't entirely black, but I was willing to live with this, since I love the artist at the calvarium. My first sign this company would be a problem was the purchasing process. Took me 4 days just to process an order. Then the promotion passed and the order went through. Then the items came on mismatched. We ordered wallpaper and matching curtains. Same style, color, pattern but the wallpaper was blue and curtains were green. When I tried to return them they denied the return. Lost thousands of dollars on this due to wasted materials, paying installers, repainting the room to match the wall paper. The selection of peel and stick wallpaper made this company stand out for me. I ended up ordering three options and have put up two. One was in a small area so I didn't need more than one width of a roll. The second was a bathroom so once I started installing I noticed there was an overlap requirement. I've put up peel and stick wallpaper in five other areas of my home and none have ever required overlap and Spoonflower does not mention this is the general product information (I only found it after watching an install video). The overlap looks awful. You can easily see the overlap due to the wallpaper having a black background and the sticky side is white. Now all I can see is a white stripe running down my wall and it looks unprofessional. With the overlap, I didn't have enough for my project and I can't fathom spending money for an additional roll. I've reached out to customer service but have yet to hear back. read more

Delivery takes forever. It seems they have the lowest possible priority shipping arrangement with UPS. Tracking shows that the fabric was printed and shipped the day I placed my order ... now it's been "on a truck" in Kansas City for 10 days. The customer service rep basically shrugged. This gets a 2 star rating for the simple fact the wallpaper itself is gorgeous, that's the only good quality. I purchase originally 2 rolls of peel & stick from Amazon, which i would not recommend because even though it's directly sold by Spoonflower, just shipped by Amazon, the customer service will tell you there's nothing they can do & direct you to Amazon, who will you tell you there isn't anything they can do either & direct you to Spoonflower. Anywho -- i liked the wallpaper but needed a bit more, so i ordered 3 more rolls directly from Spoonflower to avoid the hassle of dealing with customer service if anything were to happen. It went on great, easy to apply & i followed all the "tips & tricks" provided on their website. Then about 2 months later, it started to really start bubbling up in the middle, no matter how many times i tried to smooth it out, more and more bubbles kept showing up. Then the top part started to peel away from the wall. I don't mind getting some wallpaper glue and sticking the top back to the wall but the bubbling will not go away. And it's directly in the middle of the wall, so there's no "un-peeling" and glueing i can do. i contacted customer service, explained all this, they asked for images and more info, to which i replied and all i got back was "sorry you're past our 30 day policy" and "our peel and stick really only works on completely flat drywall" - even though the website doesn't state this. Also my walls don't really have a texture at all that would cause this much bubbling, i've used plenty of other brands of peel and stick in the past, which never caused this issue. Now i haven't gotten any other response from customer service, other than a "how was your experience" email, but wouldn't let me take this... Their wallpaper is NOT cheap, i saved to order the 5 rolls and spent over $500 and it didn't even last 4 months. Do not recommend the peel and stick wallpaper AT ALL, the traditional wallpaper may be better but honestly with how nonchalant and unhelpful the customer service was and how much it costs for it to just be defective within 60 days, it's not at all worth it. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I was very disappointed with the pillow I ordered. At $89 for just the cover I expected more. The printing is faded and not crisp. I paid the same price for several belgium tapestry pillows (etsy) and they were a million times better and a real tapestry not a printed pattern. Why did I go to Spoonflower? I needed another lumbar pillow - I bought the belgium tapestry one - there were no others to find except with this company in the designs I wanted. I would also mention they sent the wrong pillow insert size (and it was very poor quality). Customer service would not take my word for it so I had to send photos with a measuring tape as proof. They refunded me the $12. They don't allow returns and now I know why. read more

I ordered a beautiful set of California King sheets about 7 weeks ago. It arrived in the mail yesterday.. but what I got in the package was not sheets. It was literally just cut fabric. I purchased the sheets on betsy, but have been unable to get in touch with anyone on Etsy to help me with this problem. I chose to go straight to the company , spoonflower. Their response was that they cannot help me because I purchased it through Etsy. So now I'm out over $300 and Spoonflower couldn't care less. HORRIBLE customer service. I'm sad to see so many poor reviews here! I've been ordering from Spoonflower for a couple years and have had an overall positive experience. I mainly sew bras and swimwear plus some fun things for my dog so I order fabric by the fat quarter. The cost per yard is out of my budget so I only order during sales. Yes it's a long lead time but I've come to expect that so I don't mind. I do think that the apparel fabrics are exponentially better than the cottons with the exception of the cotton sateen which is really pretty. The other cotton is pretty terrible, very stiff and wrinkly and doesn't age well. The sport lycra is amazing and the performance pique also has really nice color saturation. I will continue ordering from Spoonflower because no one else even comes close to their amazing selection of prints. read more
