Y'ALL...they have redesigned this store and it is a craft-lovers paradise. The remodel makes everything so easy to find, and I love that I can reach everything on the shelves. It's been a while since we've stopped in here but we were looking for something very specific: an album for photos or scrapbooking. First thing we noticed was that the space was opened up more and not as cluttered as we remembered. I'm guessing COVID and social distancing has made them rethink the layout. Once of the staff asked if we needed help and then directed us over to where the albums were. It was late on a Wednesday so the store was not crowded, and we promptly checked out. The cashier asked if we members of their rewards program. We don't shop there too often so we told her we were not. read more

Went to the store twice to have framing work. Both times there was NO ONE in the framing department. The young lady at the front area was very rude when Iasked about the framers. I felt like I was interrupting her day as she sat there doing absolutely nothing. I will never go to this Michaels location again and I've been a loyal customer for 20 years. So sad. read more

Christopher is an amazing manager (I believe he was.) Went above and beyond to help give me advice with being new to sketching, honored deals, and was just an all around good human. i've had nothing but horrible experiences since i have moved to durham/ch area, the customer service everywhere is just absolutely embarrassing. It is very rare to find people who genuinely care in the positions that they are in nowadays. Your service is much appreciated! And patience with me. I do have a disability (seizures) which makes me unable to be in stores for long but I don't legally don't have to disclose it. point being, he was so patient with me even though they were closed. stayed after 10 mins for me. thank you so much snd i wish i got the cute, eccentric gals name at the register, but thanks for being a sweetheart and complimenting my anime phone case! :) read more

I actually really like this Michaels. Maybe I hadn't been to one in a while, but seeing as I'm making our family's Halloween costumes this year, the selection was more than I expected! Everything from party stuff to decorating, beads, paints, molding stuff, sewing needs, scrapbooking, etc. great prices too. The store is very well-kept, the location was wonderful, great parking situation, and hardly ever a line. My only caveat to a five star review is that store associates can sometimes be hard to find. When I do find them, however, they are very knowledgeable and helped me out with a quickness. read more

NOTICE- they do not have a framing staff large enough to service orders. You might want to ask how many framers are available BEFORE leaving your art work. I placed custom frame order on August 10; I called on October 6 only to learn that the frame came in damaged. No one called me to inform me that my art had not been framed. Why ask for a customer's phone number if you don't intend to inform them as to when their framing will be completed. The one star is because I received an apology from the manager Joel and the Customer Experience Manager. I will not be able to patronize Michael's any longer and I'm a long term customer. I have lost all confidence in them to do what they say they will and to communicate with customers. My message to management BE HONEST as to when the framing service can be delivered with the staff you CURRENTLY employ and call the customers to inform them of delays. BTW they never ordered a replacement frame my artwork was just sitting there- no accountability. Avoid this location. read more

I love crafts, DIY projects and jewelry making and Michaels is the place for the best discounts. And if you're a rewards member, you get an even greater discount on top of it. How awesome is that. If you are not a rewards member, you are crazy. Only issue I have is that they don't have the best selection but it's good for a quick idea you had or simple project. I go to Michaels quite often. Online and in store. I was there today for a color wheel. But when I saw 70% off green label beads. I was like I can not pass this up. I had no project in mind but I quickly made one up. It's like Walmart, go in there for one thing and come out with a basket full. Anyway pleased with my purchase and I didn't hurt my pockets. read more

The General Manager IS EVERYTHING! Holly is amazing I have a freelance artist/graphic design business. So I FREQUENTLY shop at Michaels especially before ordering from a vendor so I can have the best idea. So relocating to Durham I decided to go to the closer store and it was my first time at this location. Needless to say I felt very offended by a manager when I was in the process of checking out. I was so overwhelmed by his behavior I could barely check out. Once in the car I gathered myself called the store and talked to Holly. Let's just say her patience, understanding, and explanation greatly soothed me. She reassured me she would address what occurred and invited me back. Pleasantly surprised I returned to the store and she really made me feel appreciated as a customer. I really appreciated her attitude and behavior. This review is past due since I've been a little busy. I've since seen Holly and she is just as pleasant and positive as the first interaction. That sort of leadership is appreciated and refreshing. Being an business owner I know how stressful customers can be and how challenging it is to secure customer satisfaction in some scenarios. I've recommended this store and I WILL continue to do so. read more

This happened in October and it's still very much upsets me. The framing department has horrible attitude. I thought it was just a bad day but both drop off and pick up was a horrible experience. They not only messed up my frame but gave me horrible attitude when I asked if they could fix it. When I went to talk to the assistant manager she could care less. As my mother was talking to her she just up and walked away with out a care. Very disrespectful I returned over 300 dollars worth of product back and never will I shop here again. I have told many people about this and they are boycotting with me. If you are thinking about coming to this store please drive away. You will not have a good experience. In a world with everyone shopping online your staff and your managers should think about having better quality attitude. read more

This Michaels has the same products as any other Michaels but the 1 star comes from the poor customer service of Fanny. Twice she has checked me out and it was a customer service nightmare. She's rude. Smacks her gum. Doesn't speak. Refused to try to coupon when I asked if I had anything that wasn't on sale. Of course when I got to the car and looked at my receipt I had two items that weren't on sale and I could have used the coupon on. What a horrible representative for your brand and this store. read more

We found our stuff quickly, but spend an extended amount of time in line. Only 2 clerks an 10 people in line. Michaels is one of those places that always seems to take too long to check out. read more
