Spoon and Fork was a pretty decent AYCE restaurant. The service was fast and the servers were friendly. The place was clean and tidy, and had lots of seating. We were highly satisfied with their fried food, specifically their tempuras (4/5) and scallops (5/5). Their bok choy was cooked well and had a delicate flavour of garlic (5/5). Their skewers were good. The beef and chicken dishes were tender and juicy (4/5). Our favourite was the garlic butter shrimp (5/5) and the torched salmon sushi (3.5/5). However, the sushi rice was too dense and overly sticky. The siu mai (2.5/5) was disappointing because the wrap was a bit dry. The sashimi cuts (1/5) were also disappointing. They weren't as firm as we hoped they would be. We also had dessert afterwards. The creme brulee was too sweet but they had a nice selection of ice cream flavours. read more

We went to this AYCE restaurant and had a really disappointing experience. You're supposed to order through an app at your table, and then a waiter comes over to confirm. When the male waiter came by, he told us we shouldn't order so much at one time (we had over 40 items). But with four people at the table, that's really not excessive--especially since each single piece of sashimi counts as one item. I alone could easily finish a plate of 12 sashimi raw fish pieces (12 items). The portions were also very small. The soup came in a tiny teacup, and the fried tofu was about the size of dice (1 item count). On top of that, the service was unpleasant. The staff gave us attitude, as if we were eating too much--which is ridiculous for an All You Can Eat place. The food selection was quite limited too. Many dishes tasted the same, especially the beef items. And several popular Japanese choices were missing--no grilled eel sushi, no tobiko, no short ribs, and no grilled squid for lunch. These are all regular lunch items if you go AYCE restaurant in Toronto. We also received dishes we didn't order, and when informing the waiter they were obviously not very happy and keep frowning Overall, this was the most disappointing AYCE experience we've ever had. People who sat down before us received food first and finally she came by and said " Oh no food? You Order? You have to let her know!" Outstanding AYCE lunch! Was shocked to open the app and see it didn't have a 5 star rating. So many great food options for sushi lovers and non fish eaters alike. We were able to make modifications & everything was so fresh and tasty. Wasn't super busy which we were thankful for as we came for Monday afternoon lunch. First time trying this AYCE. Super happy to come after Skiing at Blue Mountain. We booked a table for 9 at 5:30pm. The staff was super helpful and gave us 2 iPads to order from . It's especially helpful when we have many people , they designated each iPad for area of the tables, so when orders come it doesn't get mixed up . The menu I had was different from the menu of my friends with the 2nd iPad, which I thought was interesting. I couldn't order tempura only, as my menu only give me a choice of assorted tempura. The tempura looked a bit too breaded to me. It felt like I was eating fish and chips. The sashimi was good, and fresh. Rolls were also good. I loved the volcano roll. The cooked food was also good, with variety of noodle soup, fried rice, noodles, fried noodles, padthai. Overall it was very satisfying. Price is reasonable( $34.99 adults, children $23.99, $14.00 under 8 y)when compared to many Ayce places that raised their prices and poor food quality. Went for lunch all you can eat on a Saturday afternoon. Cost approximately $25 per adult. Order from an iPad- Japanese/Thai menu. Good selection of menu items, serve in small bows and plates. Food was tasty and favourable. Portion sizes were small but you could reorder your favourites. Serving are individual orders and not meant to serve a small group. Take this into consideration when placing your food orders. Disappointing that some of the food orders never arrived on our second round of orders. Worth a return visit but monitor food servings. read more

First of all, she didn't give us a lot of time to look at the menu and once we finished eating she brought the check before we even finished eating. She didn't even ask us, If the food was any good nor If we wanted anything else. I was straight up with her and told her she was rude and impatient in every way and that I wasn't going to tip her because of that. Not quite the best ayce sushi I've had. I know it's bizarre to compare Toronto ayce sushi places to this one but being so readily close to the city, it was hard not to. This place is definitely not up to Toronto standard. For an uptown sushi restaurant, I would give it a pass. The soya sauce was too sweet and I am almost certain that it was the tempura dipping sauce. Because I love the sweet dipping sauce, I did not make a fuss about it. For those that are more traditional, this sauce is not for you. We ordered multiple items. The rolls are the highlight of this joint. Any that we ordered seemed to be acceptable. Fantastic! I wasn't to excited to go since Yelp only showed me the sushi, sashimi options. So we went only to look at the menu and found out it has everything possible!! They have an all you can eat for $17.99! $20 with tax. 2 hour seat limit. They have an ipad at each table with the entire all you can eat menu on it seperated by each food topic. You can order right off the menu as much as you want!!! When you place an order the wait staff will come by and authorize it. Noodles, tons of beef and chicken options, a couple dumplings, lots of rolls and sushi and sashimi and yakitori, salmon, and Curry. Unbelievable food for an unreal price! We went for lunch and it was pretty empty. They offer fork, spoon and knife but at the forefront is chopsticks which we are fond of! All you can eat dessert is also in the same price, and they have creme brulee, jello, cream jellos and pastries! You can also go and get one entree if thats more what you are looking for. Charged extra for leaving 4 rolls and some rice in an all you can eat setting. Would be nice if I was told about the extra charge before we began our feast. I kind of feel like finishing and asking for a refund but am afraid I'll keel over and die from too much food. Note to the manager. I've been to several spoon and forks but this one just does not live up to the name. First, we were waiting about 10 mins to be greeted/acknowledged by anyone. The restaurant maybe had about 20 people in it and they were already seated clients. Secondly, the food was below average compared to other restaurants in the area. Chicken was chewy, beef was too breaded. Seems like it's a hit or miss with the food you order Sushi was done well though. This is my first trip to Spoon and Fork Barrie. It is located on Mapleview drive in Barrie. Not too far from the 400. I was blown away by this place. Fantastic food and lots of great choices. I stopped by looking through the many restaurants in the park place plaza. The food was excellent. Everything was fast and very fresh. The design was very elegant and well laid out. The place was exceptionally clean, and the staff were very friendly and knowledgable. The place also had several gluten free options which come in handy as I must maintain a gluten free diet. The waitress was quite familiar and knew exactly what to get me as she was Celiac as well. They have separate soya sauce that is gluten free as well, but you should remind them that you need it. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys good quality Asian food. 5 stars. read more

Used to be a 4-5 star favourite place for us, but they made some changes lately and the past 2 visits where meh. They made the dishes smaller for the all you can eat which I think is great. Since we can just have more variety and smaller dishes so we actually like that. Service is always good and most foods are good. One of our favourite dishes was the crispy beef. We always get 2-3 orders of that. Used to be served sizzling hot sweet and crispy. Last time it was mediocre but edible, we got one serving and thought they were having a bad day. Today we gave them another chance (last?) and it was served cold and not crispy at all, I actually spit it out and sent it back. I HATE sending food back... so it was that bad. He said they'll make us a new one, which was just as bad if not worst than the first one so we just sorta gave up. We do notice some changes in the other dishes but nothing as bad as that, that's why it's a 3 star and not less. All in all we like the place and the concept. Worth visiting for sure. read more

Every dishes we orderEd did not have wasabi on it, maybe because we are not Chinese so perhaps it often goes to waste with customers that look like us, but for me it was noticeably absent. I eat wasabi and missed it during the last 3 times we were there. They have a dinner lunch or all you can eat option. All you can eat is what I reccomend. The portion sizes are small (which is what I like) food is good quality. Desserts suck though I really suggest you stay away from all of the desserts the square cut pies or cheese cake taste like plastic the creme brûlée tastes like snot, the only thick worth trying is ice cream... Main dishes: I reccomend sashimi it's clean and well presented great options. Also the curry chicken was good. Once we were seated we didn't see our server until the end, food was being brought out but the dirty plates were never taken from our table. A lot to like at this place! As in All You Can Eat. But there is a clear difference that prompted me to put a 5er on this one. Every dish I tried was excellent, sure, but the thing that really got me was Sashimi! There is actually sashimi on an AYCE, which in itself is unusual. There are only a few cuts, but there is also a sashimi assortment on the AYCE menu. This works out well for me, since I hate having a bad fish to rice ratio in sushi. By ordering sashimi and sushi, I can double up the fish and it balances the sushi just the way I like it. There is a nice balance between Japanese and Thai. Make sure you check your receipts after dinner. Tonight we went for dinner and we're brought the bill without actually seeing how they tally'd the amount. Proceeded to tip $50.00 and our total for 3 adults with a child was $331.... This seemed off to me clearly so I asked to see the physical tally. When brought the receipt I see she had added in an extra nearly $100.00 to the bill. I am in shock. She was very quick to say "oh sorry sorry" and grabbed my phone to do math when I have already showed her the mistake, she refused to refund the full amount back to my credit card and insisted she refund us in cash the difference. It started with walking in to an empty foyer. We stood there for [a literal] 5 minutes, to then be approached by an abrupt and stern woman who told us there was a 10 minute wait. We sat. And they sat us after only a few minutes. We then sat at the table long enough to start asking each other where we thought the server was. I won't get into it. I'm mostly complaining about service. Atmosphere: Good decor but ruined by non complimenting music. It's the first week of november, and christmas music doesn't compliment the buddhist design scheme of the restaurant. Service: I don't think it's unreasonable to not want to eat food that has been on someone else's table for the last 5 minutes. Maybe they thought they could get away with it but when they are sitting two seats down its kinda hard to miss.
