People are nice…read more Actual taxi drive took us a scenic route and ultimately the fair was $55 dollars to go 8 miles / 10 minutes. Our ride took about 20 minutes. Used Uber to get to the airport for my return flight and that was $28 with tip included, so more than half the fare. What I am ultimately saying is that the taxi is expensive and it felt like the driver took us for a longer ride than requested. Took advantage of us not knowing the area. Kinda sucks and informs my actions for the next time I fly into the area. I will not use a taxi unless it is an absolute last resort.

After searching the help articles and trying all of the advice there with no luck (and much of the advice was not quite right), I looked for a way to ask support a question. There was no way. Uber's new support site presumes you have a ride to talk about. :-( So ... I cannot even use their service. Terrible first impression and absolutely no customer service. My recommendation would be to use a different service. I had a similar issue with Lyft, and so I phoned a regular taxi service locally and there was absolutely no problem scheduling a ride. The other taxi service mentioned to me that Uber / Lyft do not do background checks on drivers. I would stay away from uber...
