Dr. Lenahen, Nicole R., and Linsey M. were so wonderful with my girl for her dental procedure. This place is overly expensive. I took my dog there. They charged my card $95 before even arriving. They wanted to keep that $95 on arrival for an examination fee on top of $95 for vaccination. Very expensive place, you're paying for the extra bells and whistles that your dog doesn't even care about. read more

Took care of my dogs but tried to upsell me every step of the way. You get a sense they care more about the money than helping animals.

Initially I thought they were great. I liked the online app process and they seemed to follow up with sincerity. It wasn't until my dog got an ear infection that I realized how terrible this office was. They were unable to problem solve my dogs ear infection and continued to suggest that I bring him in every two weeks to "check" his ear, which was code for pay the $88 fee and the $60 on top of that for a cytology. It wasn't until I got fed up with their money grabs and found a vet who cared enough to try a different medication specific to exactly what the cytology showed in my dogs ear. Sploot never put the care or effort into my pet to try anything different. I regret ever bringing my dog here. read more

Our dog seemed miserable and didn't want to eat or take a walk or anything for 2 days. Everybody at Sploot was super-friendly, and Dr. Velazquez was great! She spent a lot of time examining Cosita and that she must have some sort of pain (pulled muscle,,bruise...) We left with an appetite, enhancer/sedative and also ibuprofen for dogs. Our dog was much happier by bedtime that night, and seemed totally normal the next day We were concerned that an emergency visit would be super expensive, but it's 90 bucks regardless of when you go ! read more

**WARNING GRAPHIC** Went into the Highlands location and I'll be honest at first seem very professional and knowledgeable to heal up my little boy Nollie. He had kidney stones and was going to get a cystotomy. Well one of the technicians had him hooked up to the wrong hose and blasted his lungs with 120 PSI and killing him. He was only 3. Nothing can change what happened. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS AT ALL read more

Was pleased overall by the staff and care they gave to my dog. People were friendly and was able to get in and out rather quickly.

Really bad service, you can tell that everyone there is inexperienced. We have a very lovable and friendly 1 year old corgi, and they had the worst bedside manner you can imagine with him. They literally do not know how to handle animals in a proper way that would be calming and inviting for your pet. please do not go here, they will traumatize your pet. Just awful. read more

A little disappointed. I went in for my senior dog for his arthritis and a check up - I was then told he needed a tooth extracted and it was going to be between $1200 to $1800. I went back to my old vet because it would be a lot cheaper to get removed there. My old vet said he absolutely did not need surgery especially since he has zero pain (I had no idea until Sploot told me the tooth NEEDED to be extracted). My old vet said that I could get it extracted if "I wanted to" but it absolutely was not necessary and he wouldn't put his own 12 year old dog under to do that big of a procedure. He also said all of his teeth looked completely great so a cleaning wasn't even necessary. Not putting less than 2 stars because the staff was really nice at Sploot but it felt very overpriced and money gouging. Guess its for people who may have $2000 to just drop on one tooth extraction and clean but not in this economy - when its NOT necessary! Also just getting the senior panel and updated vaccines cost me $700. I've never ever ever had to spend that much for a non surgical/x ray procedure. Wow. Edit: They just texted me that my dog needed his booster shot for one of his vaccines he got. They never, ever communicated this to me. So on top of spending $700, I would need to pay for another vet appointment separately and the booster shot. I would have never given my dog the lepto vaccine if I would have known that. Girl tried to gaslight me saying that it was discussed per the vet notes... Absolutely not. 1 star now read more

We have been going to Sploot for 3 years since it is right around the corner from us, and the recommended vets in the area weren't accepting new patients. We have a 6 year old anxious pup. Annual visits are always a production but the staff is nice enough and tries to make our dog feel as comfortable as possible. Prescriptions are absolutely impossible. Our dog is on Prozac and it has been a nightmare getting his routine prescription renewed. It can take several days for the vet to approve a drug he has been on for 5 years. They denied my last prescription request because they are now saying our dog needs blood work every 6 months. In the last 3 years, he has never had blood work done at Sploot. Seems like a real money grab (especially since they know he would need a several hundred dollar sedation shot to draw blood). Sploot is great at making routine pet care complicated. read more

I use Sploot Veterinary care on Broadway and had an emergency visit to Highlands. This is my 9th dog and I cannot say enough positive things about the office staff, the medical expertise and warm treatment of me and my dog!!! They're finally becoming like any other vet. I came here as soon as it opened & loved the welcoming feeling & mission statement. After my recent visit I'll be looking for a new vet! I Called to let them know I was running 5-7minutes late & was told I'd be fine up until 10 minutes. I arrived and was ecstatic I made it & showed her my phone 3:39! (Federal traffic was a niI was told at this point I was already over half way through my 3:30 appointment. I was hoping to get her vaccine & be on my way after a 40 minute drive, but instead was rudely turned away. I believe the vets here are probably still great & really care about all their pet patients, but the lady at the front desk was rude & on a power trip. I was willing to make the drive after moving further south, but will be looking for something closer now. Response: As we previously discussed I will not be returning to your practice. The fact that you weren't following your own protocols is what was frustrating and a waste of our time. The vets were wonderful, whoever answers your phone and deals with customers as they come in who needs the improvement/training. read more

The vets are totally checked out and the administrative incompetence is nightmarish. Two different times sploot called me and told me to rush my pet in for observation totally unnecessarily. The second time, when I left work to rush over at the time they requested, they actually turned me away and said they were too busy. This is unforgivable since I'd been on the phone with them only 15 minutes prior. Additionally, their vet missed major swelling caused by an infection in my cat's mouth and delayed his treatment by weeks. Thankfully, a trustworthy vet opened in my neighborhood (Wadsworth Animal Hosp) so I never have to go to this place again. read more

The front office and small waiting rooms are spare and clean. the staff are always pleasant and dedicated to making my dog feel taken care of. I would easily recommend Sploot Highlands. Every aspect of their service is excellent. I especially want to thank Dr. DeMoss for his kind attention and professionalism. read more

DO NOT GO TO SPLOOT!!! All they care about is selling a package to you and taking your money. First off I had to pay a deposit of $88 just to make an appt which I've never had to do at a vets office. The deposit was supposed to be used for the annual appt. My husband took our dog in for an annual and shots. They gave him some pricing then told him he could pay a lower set package price. He confirmed that would be the total charge for the day and he was told yes. All of a sudden I have 2 more charges. One was the "set price" she told him about plus another charge. Plus I had already paid $88. So I called and was told that $219 was only for an annual package. The $88 was used towards the annual visit. And the other $40 was also towards the visit. My husband was not given any receipts or proof of what he paid for and was told it would be emailed. Which it wasn't. So now I've paid almost $350 for a visit and 2 shots. SCAMMERS! Don't believe their lies about discounts. read more

Sploot handles things in a unique way. My dog had a ruptured anal gland on a Sunday. I was extremely worried. He had an anal gland abscess before but this was worse. Not knowing what to do, I took him to a groomer to see if they could express it. They refused to service him and said I need to go to a vet. On Sunday options are very limited. I went to one on 22nd and Wadsworth, they told me to call when I arrived and someone would come get my dog. I waited an hour, no one ever called. After a very bad experience with the animal hospital on 44th and Wadsworth (after waiting 3hrs they said it was a tumor.. when it was actually an anal gland abscess) I didn't want to go there . I called another animal hospital in Arvada, they had good reviews so I thought I'd try them. But they said I could take him but I'd have to wait with him. The wait time was over 4 hours. Very worried about the condition of my dog I called sploot. They seemed to care. They answered friendly and quickly. They said they were busy and weren't sure they could take another walk in. I explained what my dog was experiencing and she said she would check with the doctor to see if they could take care of him. Thankfully they fit him in! The atmosphere they create is relaxing. Very clean and they have spa like music on. They checked me in quickly and asked me some questions. They let me drop off my dog rather than wait which was nice. I was so worried I started crying and they were very reassuring and nice. They stayed connected and called and texted me updates on how he was doing. They continued to offer support. In the end my dog was taken care of and is doing much better. Great hours for unexpected issues! Continuous support Thorough information Trustworthy read more

So far my experience with Sploot has been super great! Took my 8 week old puppy in for a checkup and everyone was so welcoming and helpful, which is so appreciated as this is my first time raising a pup. I was seen on time by Dr Mote. She was super friendly and very thorough - she made my puppy very relaxed throughout the whole experience! All of the information covered in the appt was sent over email and we also received 1 month of free pet insurance. As for pricing - I think the $80 appointment is pretty standard in the area. Their hours are 10-10 7 days a week which gives peace of mind if something were to arise over the weekend. I have also utilized their texting feature - I sent over some symptoms and they gave a few tips on how to remedy it at home within minutes! We haven't started on vaccinations yet, but with my experience so far, I'm not worried at all. Sploot has eased a lot of nerves for a first time pet owner! read more

The people here are very kind and amenable. The problem is that except for one veterinarian, the other veterinarians are fresh out of vet school or have very little experience. I personally do not like having my dog taken away for shots. I have gone to vets until now where you are allowed to hold your dog. I also had a big scare with my dog there, which I will not go into. I asked for a refund but did not get one, not even a partial one for that one appointment. If your dog is healthy, there should not be problems, but I will not be going there because of the lack of experience and oversight from other vets who know more... read more

TLDR; Money grab business caught in action Last month when I called to refill a prescription for my dog, a teammate said that they recommended that my dog get blood work done before the next refill as the medication is not intended for long term use. So, this month I scheduled an appointment to get her blood work done as recommended. When I showed up the doctor said, "so you're wanting to get blood work done today?", and I explained that yes, one of your teammates told me it was recommended before refilling. My dog gets the blood work done and then we leave. 20 minutes later I get a call telling me that I apparently left without the medication. Well first of all, I was never told I leaving with the medication nor was it included in the estimate. So to that I asked - "Why would I have taken home the medication if the blood results were not in? Your team recommended that she get the bloodwork done before refill as it's not intended for long term use". The teammate then read through the doctor's visit notes. The notes stated that the medication was supposed to start today (same day of appointment). I explained to the teammate that those notes are a little concerning given the fact that I was told to get her bloodwork done before refill and then before receiving those results, to be instructed to start the medication? The teammate put me on hold and after a while, they returned and I was then told, "Sorry, that was a miscommunication, it will, of course be up to as to whether or not you start her on the medication before the test results are in." So - this was obviously an unnecessary $300+ appointment and when it was brought to attention, the doctor likely instructed the teammate to deflect (just a guess). Take your dogs to another vet to get a second opinion on any of their recommendations. This is a money grab business with a "cute" storefront. read more

Worst vet I've ever been to. They will ALWAYS have you come back for additional visits to milk all the money they can from you. Such a disappointment! After search for a good vet for awhile someone recommended Sploot. The first appointment went great, we agreed on a treatment plan which included specialized blood work and schedule the blood work appointment. I took my dog in for the appoiment, they said he would Need to be there until 4pm. I called/text at 3:30pm asking for an update... nothing! Called text at 4pm, he wasn't ready. At 5pm they said they were just finishing I could pick him up in 30mins. When I picked him up his right leg had blood all over it and his face as the area from where they took the blood did not have a bandage. It has been one week since the blood work and they refuse to discuss it with me. I had to schedule a new appointment to get an update on the almost $700 I already spent. I can imagine a worse place to take your animal but not a worse place to take your pet to get it cared for. My dog was hit by a car. Appears fine and walking except he was yelping when touched in the hind back/tail. I observed signs of swelling and heat in that area. I called and asked if I should wait until morning to get a better idea of what was wrong. They thought I should get him looked at immediately. I took him to this emergency vet. The vet did not observe pain in the tail, nor swelling, but did observe a knee injury on both legs that only previously existed on one leg. I had diagnosed this knee injury myself. The vet thought this second knee injury was what caused the yelping and suggested an x-ray of the chest for internal bleeding was needed. I declined and made an appointment at a different vet for the x-ray. This dog has no signs of that sort of knee injury. The dog has obvious pain when touched. The only reason it stopped crying out is because it was scared. There were zero indications of internal bleeding. I was disappointed by them so much because the next day I saw clear signs that my dog's tail was seriously injured. Against my own common sense, I booked a follow-up visit to this she vet. I was concerned the tail might be dislocated because the tail flops and you would obviously need to get that treated quickly. Several times they mentioned how I had declined to get an x-ray. Not sure why they felt the need to try and put blame on me. The x-rays were going to be of his chest, not his tail. They tell me on the phone that they can set dislocated tails. Other places say they can't. They say it needs to be an sooner than 4 days out. Others say that is soon enough. I take the dog because again I am nervous and want to get the care it needs, in time. So I take it in. I was upset but believed they would step up, knowing the situation now. They did not step it up, at all. Now, I don't believe they no what they're doing, at all. They simply took x-rays and had them analyzed somewhere else. That is the only way they knew it was a broken sacrum and they also did those chest x-rays, for no reason. This vet also claims to think the dog needs pain meds and the dog is just being "stoic". The dog is obviously not in pain, like at all. The tail is obviously not dislocated and these x-rays and these visits were a complete waste. This is not something they can fix and I obviously should have just waited to take my animal to a real vet. These guys clearly have a playbook they follow and don't take a moment to look at your animal and see what an experienced vet should be able to see. They just want the dog for the price tag attached to it. They even told me to kennel the dog to prevent injury, which I know is pointless for this kind of injury, but then they even walked my dog out to me on its leash after telling me this. No common sense! My dog had common sense right off the bat and did not want to be left alone with these creeps. Horrible place! read more

They tried to bribe us with a refund if we agreed to remove our negative review. No way--protect your pets, read this review. Our dog was incorrectly weighed by Sploot staff, resulting in an over double dose of medication that puts him at risk of many adverse side effects. We were overcharged $200. Our dog was seen by four staff (two vet techs, a front desk associate and Dr. Rodriguez) and each of them was so careless that they mistook our 82lb dog for a 180lb dog. When we went in to re-weigh him, they were rude and told us it was our fault for misreading the scale. They did not give us any drug information regarding potential side effects or overdose information. This place is terrible. Vets are negligent and staff is rude. DO NOT GO HERE, they care more about marketing than your animals. Sploot absolutely mishandled be my dog- I had a procedure done back in December that I am still dealing with right now because of their negligence. After a surgery on her paw, they sent us home with a bleeding ear, no bandage on her paw, and no antibiotics- at release I was told to "try and keep it dry and see you in two weeks." In two days, she was in severe pain, couldn't walk, there was a huge infection... I ended up there at six times in 12 days- I was charged for every single thing that they messed up. They lied in my records to hide what they did and said I did things that I didn't to make it seem like they didn't mess up. Every time I was reassured that I am doing the right thing for my dog, and I'm being such a "good doggy mommy." I was at a loss, the wound wasn't healing. I was there every other day, crying. They ended up having to redo the procedure. While my dog was with them I got an automated text message, asking how she's doing, LOL. And to top it all off, when I came to get her, I told them that I had to put it on care credit, the front desk receptionist made a joke that " You must really like coming to see us, huh?" Since, have been ignoring my calls and emails. They refuse to give me my biopsy- It's not in the records. Sploot was also a bit far from where we lived, but that didn't bother us because of how kind and caring the staff were and how they were with our cat. Update to review- within two weeks of paying over $1K to Sploot Highlands, I learned that my dog has massive cancer in her abdomen and has less than a month to live. Sploot Highlands did an "abdominal ultrasound" on my dog two weeks prior to this diagnosis at another vet yet they DID NOT tell me that my dog had cancer in her abdomen and instead they recommended another expensive test, a Cushings test. I am furious with Sploot and I would not recommend them for anyone who cares about their pet. Prior review: This is the absolute WORST place to take your pet. DO NOT go to this place. The vets who work here are checked out and are not attentive nor is the administrative staff. They sent emails to the wrong email address which I had correctly written on the initial paperwork. They also continually called my dog by the wrong name despite having all of her medical records from another vet. Every time I called, I was told that there are several new people or the person who answered said that they are "new" and don't know the policies yet. I was told by one person that I would have to go in to pick up the prescriptions for my dog and then I was told by another person that they could email the scripts and that I didn't have to come in to get them after I had already driven there during rush hour. I initially requested an appointment for my dog to be seen after hours because she appeared to be in pain and the other vet that I go to had closed for the day. I took her in and it was recommended that she receive an abdominal ultrasound and a Cushing's test. I was then told that the abdominal ultrasound was abnormal yet it was not explained to me that my dog likely had cancer in her abdomen--intead, a $600 Cushing's test was recommended. I paid over $1K for the abdominal ultrasound + a Cushing's test and I was never called back by the doctor who saw my dog despite requesting a phone call several times and being told at the initial appt that she would call me back with the results of the test. I was told by a tech that the Cushing's test was negative and no vet ever called me to recommend additional testing until I begged to speak with a doctor --3 days later, the medical director rather than the vet who saw my dog called me and he recommended additional expensive tests and did not have any care in his voice. He sounded overworked and stressed out. I was never told at the initial appt that the initial abdominal ultrasound was not being done by someone fully trained to do abdominal ultrasounds. I would not have paid for a test to be done by a vet who was not trained to do the procedure recommended. I asked to speak to one of the two doctors who saw and examined my dog and I was told that these doctors wouldn't be back in for 3 weeks. I was told by an administrative person that this is not a specialist clinic and that it is a primary care and urgent care clinic, which I understand, however I was not told at the initial appt that the doctor doing the ultrasound wasn't trained to do abdominal ultrasounds. A week later when I called with additional concerns about my dog, I was sent texts that a supervisor would call me and would have a "sit down conversation with me" and when I asked when someone would be calling me, along with several other questions, I never received a response. I then called the clinic and was told that care would be discontinued because I was "unprofessional." To be honest, I was extremely frustrated and any "unprofessional" behavior on my part was in response to the lack of professionalism I received by the "professionals" at this veterinary clinic. And frankly, I was not the professional in this situation, I was the mother of the patient and I was responding to the treatment that I was receiving as any mother would. I was frustrated and upset at the lack of care and concern. This place is like a factory. They do not care about your pet and if you want good care, this is not the place to find it. Veterinary care is not perfect anywhere but I have experienced significantly better treatment at other clinics. read more

If you like wasting money, by all means. My pup had some allergies when we first moved here. They attempted to do a barrage of tests (tear duct staining, blame the "gunk" on a skin tag he has had on his eye since birth, infected corneal abrasion they said. All moonshots. Took him to another vet, no corneal abrasion, no suggestion of staining..they listened. Sploot may be capable, but they're going to tax the hell out of you along the way. Be wary.
