Splitz is a great place to go for a bowling match between a large group or just a couple. It's a more upper scale bowling alley in Gainesville. I had never had any problems with the place up until my last visit. We walked in a group of 4 on a Sunday evening (around 8pm) for the unlimited bowling, to find out there was a wait list because all the lanes were full. We put our names on the list and headed over to play a round of pool. During our game we noticed empty lanes that had not been filled. I went over to the desk and asked what was up. The receptionist then filled the 3 lanes and said we were next on the list. About 20 minutes later I noticed another empty lane. I again went to the counter to have to tell her our lane was available. Basically doing her job myself.. Also, while at the counter I glanced over at the kitchen which is open. I was thinking about ordering some food until I saw the cook not using any gloves on anything.. yuck read more

Wish i could rate it lower, worst spot in Gainesville for Service, Karaoke and overall places to go. Went there with a large group, we had prearranged for the group. The Karaoke person was the worst, a lady with a sidekick and they also had a table near them that was with them. The singing made no sense, the person told people in our group it would be an hour and a half to sing, however every fourth song her side kick sang and the drunk over served guys with them would sing, so every 5th song someone in our group would sing. It was like it was their own party. Also we never were able to order food and when i went to the concession area and asked for a water i was told to use the water fountain. When we alerted a guy that presented himself as an owner he was drunk. So to recap Karaoke failure, food failure, drink failure and speaking to adults failure. STAY AWAY read more

Terrible Staff Rude and Faces looked like they were annoyed. ordered food at 8:16pm on January 21,2017 and got it at 9:20 pm did not like the staff and bartenders. Bowling was fun just needs more improvement on customer service. Manager Was Super nice and offered one more hour. read more

Only 1 new girl working the bar with .25 liquor drink specials = at least 10 min wait time for any drink. I can't blame the poor girl but she was moving as slow as a snail! read more

This bowling alley has everything you can want in a good alley! Very friendly service, good lanes, lots of TV's, a full service bar with restaurant, music, the lightings, and more. The equipment seems pretty well kept up or newer. I would come here again for sure. They definitely do it right! I recommend this place! read more

I have been an avid bowler all my life and it's because of bowling centers like this who think Cosmic bowling is great, it's the reason bowling has declined over the years; it's not for a serious bowler who doesn't appreciate bowling in the dark. You make bowling into a carnival attraction. It would be as stupid as night golfing with golf balls that glow in the dark. Never will I bowl in an environment like this in any bowling center. By the way, I'm a spot bowler that needs to see the spot. read more

Splitz has a really fun game room, laser tag and more fun on the bar side. I would give five stars but the service is really slow and the managers are rude. We like to go late nights so that could be why. It would be great if the staff could be more friendly and welcoming but it's a bowling alley so I guess that's expected. read more

Let me start by saying my husband and I have never had a bad experience at Splitz until this past Saturday. We rented 2 boutique lanes, 2 hours on each lane. We had a fairly large group (13) coming in to celebrate my husband's Birthday. From the moment we walked in the guy behind the counter (skinny, short blonde hair... Wish I had gotten his name) was nothing but rude to us. We wanted to split the bill between all of our guests, after a few minutes of huffing and puffing he finally decided to split it up and give everyone their amount. He never greeted us or our guests and he was rude when when I simply inquired about the $20 (per lane) deposit my husband had to pay, which also happens to be non-refundable (I didn't want my husband having to pay for that on his Birthday). Several of our guests even stated what poor customer service we received. I could having cried... And I surely didn't want to be at Splitz any longer. After being talked into staying, we find out one of the big screens on our lanes didn't even work. What a joke!! I was extremely embarrassed and disappointed by the whole situation, it definitely wasn't worth the money we paid. read more

Went to watch the UFC fights and started a bar tab. Went to pay my tab only to be told that someone else paid it for me... with MY card and they gave him MY card and he left with it. 2 illegal charges later, I cancelled my card. The managers NEVER called me back and seemed to act like it was no big deal. They told me, "It happens all the time." Our bowling league at work also had 6 envelopes full of money "lost" by them. They don't take same day reservations. For any type of lame. So if you call immediately upon opening and wanted to reserve two lanes for later that day (like we did today), they won't accept it, even if they have plenty of availability. Since half the lanes are empty every time we go, I find this a pretty weird business decision, since you hold lanes with a guaranteed credit card. The food here is good, but it takes a very long time to get it and wait service is also slow (unless you're in the bar area). They'll let you bring a birthday cake in, but not food, even if they don't have the type of food you want to serve at your party, and even if your company brings in 100 people and you spend quite a bit of money holding events there for several years on a row, like the organization I work for has done (no more after this year). The lanes always break during bowling, interrupting your game, although once you eventually flag down staff they are back up and running quickly. Lighter balls to bowl with (7-8 pounds) are very few and far between for women and older kids. And skip the arcade, where more than half the games always seem to be out of service or token stealers. We will be trying the other lanes in town and in Lake City to see if those businesses care more about getting and keeping customers. read more

Had an absolutely terrible experience at this establishment. When we tried to speak to a manager about a problem we were having, he was extremely rude and completely dismissed us and kicked us out of the facility without even speaking to us. I have absolutely never been treated this way in a business before, especially by a person in management. I hope the owner reads this, so they can know how extremely abhorrent the treatment I received was. The manager was named Will, and he left me regretting even going to this place. read more

I love bowling at Splitz! It's definitely the nicest bowling alley in town, hands down. The new arcade is awesome! The food for league bowling is great, I love all the specials. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We love to have private parties in the back private lanes, the catering is great and the kids have an excellent time bowling and playing lazer tag and arcade games. I would recommend this place to all my friends and their families! read more

made reservations for private company party. arrived on time and everything went out the window...not the right space reserved... brought chips and dip to the private room large huge bowel with ladle in the dip...just a mess. to loud to even talk...two lanes we had were broken!! 20 mins to fix it...many balls stuck in the lane... horrible time for all...so hot we couldn't breath....cost 400.00 bucks and we stayed an hour!!!!!!!!!! don't go for a private party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

What a bunch of con's so I called two weeks ago about renting there laser tag room for an hour on a Sunday.. I was told it was $150 for one hour with a $50 deposit and they need 3 days notice... so I called back monday to talk to someone about booking to laser tag for an hour I was told no one was in for reservations but I could leave a message and my call would be returned that day.. so I left a message and waited..after a few hours I tried again.. still no one in the office.. then I called on tuesday and was told the reservation people were still not in but was reasurred there would be room for us on Sunday since no other partys have booked the room.. so today I finally received a call back .. the lady would not book the room for an hour said I have to have 15 in my party and that she would speak to her manager to see what my cost would be for 10 and call me back but reasurred me the room was available.. so no call back 2.5 hours later I call them back and was told I was speaking to a maneger (supposedly the lady who called me back before was only an office worker.. hu?) and that splitz does not rent the room by the hour on sundays but I could rent it for a party at $275 an hour..this includes now only 30 minutes of play time and pizza and soda.. which we do not want.. or I could drive four an hour to allow ten children to play laser tag for 6 minutes each at $6 dollars a head and there would be 15 minute breaks between each game... read more
